    In 14:13 question, the question shouldn't be saying every 7 years as that would make it double like it does in compound interest. Although simple interest is mentioned, still the line becomes contradicting.

    It is mentioned as simple interest right not compound....so consider only the initial principle amount for all iterations so that would be like --> initial - 100 +7 years - 200 (100 added since after 7 years initial amount is doubled) +7 years - 300 (100 added since after 7 years initial amount 100 is doubled but not total amount after first 7 years i.e 200) +7 years - 400 +7 years - 500 +7 years - 600 +7 years - 700 +7 years - 800 +7 years - 900 +7 years - 1000 +7 years - 1100 +7 years - 1200 +7 years - 1300 so after 84 years I will have 1300

    How can a sum double itself in SI ? If it is 100 at year 1 then after 7yrs it is 200, after 14yrs it should be 400, otherwise the statement does not make sense. With an increase of Rs 100 every 7yrs we get 100, 200, 300... but 300 is not a sum doubled.

  • @ikramsaudagar1015

    @ikramsaudagar1015

    think of double as 100% rate of interest of the original principal amount in SI. 100 after one year doubles to 200, in next year it would be 400 if you consider compound interest as 400 is the double of 200 which is the new principal. however it is 300, because you consider 100 as your principal and 100% rate of return on 100 is 100, so 200+100=300

    Sir, in Sum double in 7 years question Sir every 7 years doubling means sum would be 16 times in 28 years. That is 1600. So sum is 1300 somewhere in between 21 to 28 years. I cannot understand why i should opt for unitary method there. Please re-explain sir kindly🙏 Although I have understood easily what you did there, but why the sudden change in line of thinking sir, please reply

    I am assuming that you are talking about the question at 14:40. The question is of simple interest where principal amount and interest per year remain constant. So, a sum doubling itself implies that the total in interest in 7 years is equal to principal amount (Note - Every year you'll get the same interest for SI). 7*SI = P Si = P/7 ------------------------------------------ You want to find the time it takes for the sum to become 13P. So, SI here is 12P. time = 12P/(SI) = 12P/(P/7) = 84 years.
