simple improvements to my off grid cabin
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I make several improvements to the off grid cabin . I install a heat shield behind the wood stove. build rustic hand railing for the loft . upgrade the solar power with some fuses, and reinforce the floor system. I stain the outhouse and , I do some wood working and build a beautiful coat rack from black walnut .

I am really enjoying your videos! You illustrated perfectly that a simple solar system can work very very.efficiently. There are armchair solar commandos out there who would say you need expensive.12V fuse blocks on these small systems and.other.things. You showed perfectly.that you.don't. Proper thickness wire sized for the.amps it will be carrying and good inexpensive heavy duty in-line fuse holders with the.lowest workable fuse size are totally adequate.
@blackspruce1861

awesome !! I'm glad you're enjoying them . I do like to keep it simple . I honestly didn't think of fuses at first so I am thankful for some of the comments . In my camper build I ended up using a 12volt fuse block from Napa it has 6 spaces and cost maybe 15 bucks I really liked doing it that way it kept it a little neater but inline works just as well
I love e the cabin build, however, I really love how you honored your wife’s wishes. Kudos to you for a build well done. I know your wife will be forever grateful. 🙏

Watching this over makes me feel like I could do this. We spent yesterday outside and took the bricks from flower bed and made a fire pit out back. Now going to take a downed tree and cut it into sections for front of flower bed. Spent most of night outside last night with a bit of dryer lint for Firestarter and then made a teepee of small sticks and grew it bigger and made a campfire and made smores and roasted bratwurst. It was amazing

@@blackspruce1861 yeah in shop in the tenth grade we used rough cut woods imported from Africa and probably south America as well. If I would have taken shop in the eleventh and twelfth grades I could have made a grandfather clock out of Walnut that would have been the wood I would have chosen. I went to the technical school in stead in computers probably a waste of time because all was obsolete when I learned it. Radio shack came out with the first home computer that wasn't a mainframe.
