My father had ordered this bathroom scale and when he received it, it was DOA. When he called to get an RMA they told him to keep it and they sent him a new one. The fix turned out to be very simple. Don't be afraid to investigate a problem on something. No risk in taking it apart, it was already broken :-)

“Simple fix” The fix: *rocket science*
Excellent. My wife just threw out the WW 8946U. I collected it and took it apart. The heatsink disk came off. Two minutes of soldering. BINGO. Working scales again!. Thanks for the push to do it.

Glad you found it. Thanks for watching
I need help changing my lithium battery on scale...do you know how to do this? Thanks
Hi thank you for this demonstration. I wonder if you can help me with calibrating weights with this kind of scales.
After watching the video, I have my scale fixed, without soldering whatsover, or opening up. Just changed the battery, being inspired by the mentality of 3 Rs, recycle, reuse, reduce.
Just positive wire (red) was disconnected ?
While supplying the battery from outside to the bathroom scale, I connected the battery plus and minus terminals in reverse. Now it doesn't work at all. How can I fix it?
Thank you for the video. I'll have to try it.
We have had a Silver crest bathroom Scale for about three years and although it is still working well the thing that frustrates me is that it is nigh impossible to clean under the glass where dust and stains between the glass surface and the name of the name Silvercrest. The space between the two surfaces is very narrow and difficult to put anything between the surfaces. Any answers Graham?
Oldie but a goodie. Thanks for watching
my scale shows partial digits.what do I do?
Nice soldering iron.
And does any one knows what do do when my weight calculater doesnt work properly? Tnx for sharing
Hi, I wonder if you could help me, I'm trying to develop a weighing scales that has a built-in max and minimum alarm. The reason for this is I'm in the process of setting up a weight loss business and I don't want my patients to be able to see their weight. Ideally what I want is for them to stand on the weighing scales and if they go over a preset maximum weight, an alarm will go off and similarly if they go below a preset weight an alarm will go off....would appreciate any guidence on the matter.
it's really help the n my scale is the same problem like u.
The LCD screen's bottom half is faded. I put in new batteries but did not fix problem
Any help finding the way into the scale?
Well done! You are an inspiration. I will check my old scales too and see if it can be fixed. I hate to throw things out without a stab at fixing it. Cheap Chinese junk manufacturing!
I have a kind of expensive Beurer scale which was submerged in water, and then stopped working. It works for a while, then the batteries dies quickly. It seems that Im supposed to just through it away, though it's annoying how such an expensive thing can be so sensitive to water, I mean it's supposed to be on a bathroom floor . And it does work, it's just that the batteries dies in a few hours, so my feeling is that it could be fixed.. But I can't even open it, there are no screws or anything. So I'm supposed to through it away... I don't like that, but what can I do. I asked at an electronics store, but they couldn't help.
ehm my scale doesnt count the weight. All are perfect except this... what should i do?

+Matt Mangold i think yes its wen you step on it there is a weight calculator and that as you see doesnt work maybe you need to replace that one dont try to fix it alone take it to a service guy or just toss it and buy a new one from a store or from ebay
Close up would have been nice!
you won't believe it. I opened up my scale... same thing, must be a lazy worker at the factory
scales are deceiving.
I don't wanna lift mine up in case there's a spider under it 😂
