Simple Duck Foot Fix-Exercise-Improve Hip Mobility with Dr. Todd Martin.
Walking and standing with duck feet is one of the most common posture and walking technique problems. Most people can fix it with better awareness and some simple exercises. Not everyone walking with duck feet with develop problems, but many people do. Fallen arches, plantar fasciitis, functional knee pain, hip pain and back pain can all be related to duck feet. You may surprised that even rotator cuff tendonitis can be triggered by duck feet because it causes the shoulders to be internally rotated. This quick exercise can help you determine if you have a functional problem or if you have a fixed anatomic misalignment, which is more difficult to fix. It will help with you hip mobility, and it will help you walk with your feet in better alignment. This Walking Code exercise is one of many on the channel that can be used to help with your duck feet.

    I don't have duck feet. But, I appreciate your videos and use them to manage knee pain associated in part with overuse issues, ie biking .

    Thanks so much! I was struggling with knee tendinitis ( I was getting knee redness ). I was big on getting steps (15k-20k a day)… I was walking duckfooted the whole time! I was putting a lot of stress on my knees. I have used your techniques ( it takes a bit of time to re-train yourself ) but I’ve done it and my knees have been MUCH better. THANK YOU!

    Hi, Todd. I like your videos and explanations of many different issues. I'd like you to address Plantar Fasciitis, how to walk if you have it, or how to prevent it. It has been months since I walked long distance comfortably, lately I can't walk any long distance at all.

    A lot of male actors as well. Not so much female actors, probably because they have to know who to walk in heels, and duck feet doesn't work for that.

    Hello! Recently found your channel, I'm very happy i did🎉. Though i have a question. What should i do if i have troubles tucking the pelvus? I have a hyperlordosis, so when i tuck my pelvis a lot,my back becomes rounded 😢 thanks for the video!

  • @ToddMartinMD

    @ToddMartinMD

    23 сағат бұрын

    This will need some work. The hyperlordosis means you are not using your lower abs in your basic posture or walking. This will mean your hip flexors and lower back will be in a tightened, shortened position. I would recommend the Cow and Cat yoga poses as a stretch and then practicing the techniques on my channel. I would practice the Core Balance and Mobility routine exercises from that video and work on getting your core muscles working together.

    It also gave me some funny dance moves. A good walk feels wonderful and is attractive to the opposite sex. Any advice on slight bunions?

  • @ToddMartinMD

    @ToddMartinMD

    Well fitting shoes, walking with the feet straight, and considering an arch support are good if you have a bunion. If you have painful bunions, using a toe separator is helpful.

    Yes, especially ballet dancers, because they are constantly working on unnatural turnout of the hips. They also end up in a lot of pain when they are older.
