Simple Clamp Racks And MFT Angle Cutting
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Another bit of workshop housekeeping - extending my clamp racks. Very simple design these. In making them, realised how effective my variable angle fence for the MFT is at cutting angles on small workpieces. On small workpieces - like these elm clamp rack supports - cutting the mitres can mean your fingers perilously close to the blade of a mitre saw or table saw, absent any means to clamp.
Jigs can be made for just this of course but, the angle fence for the MFT, using the guide rail as a clamp, makes cutting mitres on very small pieces safe and easy. What's not to like there?

Just built my workshop and made sure before I got carried away and started putting stuff on the walls I gave it all 2 coats of primate and a thick coat of brilliant white eggshell, makes a HELL of a difference!

Nice one. Wish I'd started doing it sooner. A small workshop can start to feel quite dingy pretty quickly without whitewash. Not to mention claustrophobic...for me anyway 👍
It’s good to do a simple workshop job now & again 👍.

Good looking way of storage, probably will do it that way in my new workshop. As always, great Video. Cheers

Nothing like a simple workshop build. Nice quick and simple 👍 not everything has to be a masterpiece it's a tool to hold tools . Always enjoy your videos please keep them coming.

Cheers mate. Appreciated. So true for the workshop - simple, functional. I do put a bit more effort into the workbenches though as they're multifunction and take a hammering!😁👍
Very nice! I love that MFT angle cut jig.

Knowing you are in a small space I am surprised you have room for clamp rack. I don’t too much other wall stuff. I like your MFT small pieces cut solution 👍🏻

Cheers mate. The mft thing is handy. I can't have a lot on the walls but clamps are a must. 👍
Thank you for the video. Gives me a few ideas to organise. I find the anti skid rubber under the tracks, weight of the saw is a great hold down for small cuts. Not sure why others don’t recommend it. I do add a longer piece of wood behind it as that supports the track and a far lesser chance of the wood moving under the track while cutting.

Thanks mate. Yeah, longer piece can sure help balance things out👍
Just the ticket. Every time I watch one of your vids, I see something that leads me to watch or rewatch another one. Off to track down the one about the MFT angle cutting setup - Thanks and please keep 'em coming 🙂

We moved into our house a couple of years ago, after about a month to do some work on it. The garage is the same size and layout as Mr Millard’s workshop, so I have one half as a work space, and the other as a garage. I sprayed the wall white, which makes a big difference, and also sealed the concrete floor with paint. That really keeps the whole concrete dust at bay. Cleaning up (now and again) is easy with the painted floor.

I'd love to white wash the walls and give the floor a coat of something but I rent it, so can't. If it were mine, first thing I'd do would be to level the floor and skim it so it's smooth. It's rough as blx - nightmare for the benches!
Love it. This praise adds no value,, but the algorithm needs to know.

That may jig, looks like you’re able to cut more angle than a mitre saw? Not that I fancy this idea to be honest 😂
@BischBaschBosch
2 ай бұрын
It's got 95 degrees of movement, so it can sit parallel to the normal or parallel to the rail - even 5 degrees of undercut. I made it mainly for the mitres on chair components. Especially the seat pieces. To cut them at the mitre saw, they'd hang out the front, unstable. Also difficult to mill on my over-router. A breeze on the mft though👍
