We are all so brainwashed that studio photography “needs” to be narrow aperture, low ISO and a big, powerful strobe or 3. This was so refreshing! Crank up the ISO, open up the aperture, and get great results with a single, bounced speedlight!!! I could have benefited from this at my most recent session!!! Thank you.

Thanks for sharing!! I believe in the past making adjustments to lights, or film sensitivity and even camera settings may have had a bit more of a cumbersome process hence the rules that have been laid out for decades. But nowadays we have so much flexibility, it is entirely up to us to explore and create with everything we have at our disposal so I am glad this video felt refreshing to you! Excellent. Photography started from one source of Light (sunlight) back in the 1820's. Francesco Scavullo was well-known for his one source of lighting.

Just my own tip - you should explain why your Speedlight/flash is pointed away for the newbies and how bouncing the light from certain distance creates softer/harsher light and smaller or bigger source. Great video though and epic portraits!
