Thanks God Fusion still Lives…..thanks God Simon founded this GROUP….
Mr. Tibbs is one Bad A$$$$$$$ Bassist !!! Line up of Brilliant Musicians !
Drummers (and others) will appreciate that Simon is a completely ambidextrous "open handed" player (not a lefty playing a right handed setup) who has learned to lead/ride with both right and left hands with equal fluidity, strength and dexterity. Aside from Billy Cobham very few drummers in history have accomplished this. Absolutely extraordinary!

The open handed technique is what I love the most about his and Cobham's playing. Gives your playing a completely different feel. I attempted to teach myself this when I was 20 and only got so far. Like anything, need to start young!

I've listened to a lot of different types of music in my whole life and I've always had a favorite song. But "The Long Road Home" by - in my opinion - the world's best drummer and his indescribably fantastic musicians always brings tears of joy to my eyes. When you talk about perfection in music, this song is the absolute benchmark. I just had to get that off my chest. I envy you all for your musical talent. I love this Song ❤ ‼️

This number sounds incredible well. This Simons Protocol V music is on another level . Fantastic ❤
I hope the album wins a Grammy.
This is what a masterpiece sounds like. The climax track on the album. Spectacular composition, award-winning track. To hear it on the album is ecstatic, to see these men while recording it is mesmerizing; The concentration, focus, expressions, feel are absolutely thrilling. Top-notch video work, the straight mid shot on Simon is remarkable, the edit is perfect. This is a fine work of art and music. Thank you so much for putting this out. All the best.

When you hear Simon with Hiromi … One of the best/ most musical drummers of all time! A living legend!
One of the Superbly Greatest Drummers of anyone's time ! Brilliance !
Everything... literally everything about this track is sheer perfection from five musicians at the top of their game, creating something that's as seamless as a ballbearing. One of the best songs I've heard in years. Stunning!
The day I start to play open hands at 40 years old, it was a new world of rythmes and possibilties. Thanks to Billy Cobbam and Simon Philips , it was a révélation !

Love everything about this. Excellent sensibilities, composition, dexterity, chord voicings, virtuosity. Great to know bands of this caliber are still out there.
Musicians who are proud of their expertise, what a breath of fresh air in this world of phony, amateurish so called artists. excellent piece played beautifully!

Nonsense. There are tons and tons of amazing artists those days. Eric Harland... Chris daddy Dave... Snarky Puppy... Jacob Collier, Vulfpeck, Knower, on and on! The majority of musicians aren't like that but they aren't a bunch of losers either. Just because the mainsteam industry pushed a few puppets (like they always did anyway) on Instagram or something doesn't mean the world is full of clowns... well ok it is but then again we don't care about them.

Yes, Musicians. But this song is a bit boring. Johannes Zetterberg does this really better. PLEASE don't compare this song with Snarky Puppy. Please. SP is an ovni, a real blast and trip on all songs. SP is creation.

I am in my mid-sixties and have been a fan of Simon for a long time. Particularly with Toto on VCR, and over time, with progressive jazz player Lee Ritenour and Mike Stern, he always impresses me with his skill, diversity, talent, and mastery of percussion. One of the very best! Thank you for the journey Simon!
So awesome!! Please UPLOAD more videos of any subject (songs playthrough, drum cams, studio drumming/tips, mixing drums, practice tips etc...) you are the drum LEGEND and you are the SOUND of the drums!! It would be cool to see a lot more of your videos! Anybody agree with me? 😊✌🏻
I’m a drummer but Otmaro’s counter melody was killing! Really a MASTERPIECE!
it has the "enigmatic ocean" vibes; great old school playing; Sills plays like Sills, Otmaro Ruiz brilliant, as usual, but Scesney took me by surprise: what an intelligent and musical phrasing ! Tibbs holds it all by the skin of the teeth well done: great tune.
The worlds most musical drummer. Period.
ugh, the sound of his drum kit here is SO insanely magical. Gorgeous piece of music. Also, Simon apparently never ages.
absolutely beautiful composition. come back to Chicago when you can Simon, we love you here .
One of the things I admire most about Simon, is his tendency, nearly insistence, to feature each of his players to some solo, in nearly every composition. This to me is the mark of a leader who is proud of his supporting players, and recognize that without them, there simply is no composition. Of course, a great deal of pressure is taken off Simon, when he undoubtedly has the very best of the best in his stable!

Simon's work on Judas Priest s Stained class is Awesome. Very talented. Cheers.
Music ! Not War ! Stupendous for the Human Soul !!!!!
Going to see Simon & band live in 1,5h!
Simon’s probably inspired more drummers to put down the sticks than pick them up he’s that good.
Best new music I've heard in quite sometime. Magical! (Metheny-ical too. The influence is evident)
I just wanted to say that, in addition to the music being absolutely virtuosic, extremely well thought out , and executed, the video of this song is SUPERB! Having the VISUAL production value match the audio production value is an amazing one two punch.
Great musicianship,keyboardist is killin it.
this is as good as it gets. From composition to performance to tones to engineering... perfect.

A truly master piece. Amazing performance of a beautiful song
All I can say is wow. Top notch players.
Simply superb musicianship here, melodic balance with some complex parts for each instrument at times but never out of sync, overlapping brilliantly, they are reading the charts live, would love to know how many takes they had before actually recording, I predict for this level of playing, very few, Simon’s intricacy is next level…
Extremely beautiful capture here seeing Simon and crew performing there parts. This is my favorite tune off album

Otmaro on piano excellent...Buenísimo !!!
I think one reason people are so enthusiastic about this tune is because it has some melodic themes and chord progressions that go somewhere, (and can actually stick in your head). There's so much great "fusion" playing, but often the songs are a jumble of ideas (or just a two-chord groove). It makes a difference when the song is crafted like this one!
SIMON PHILLIPS SOUND OF THE DRUM ROYALTY ONE OF KIND AND TO ALL INVOLVED TRULY STUNNING WOW .28 PEACE
Bass solo sounds like Jeff Berlin, nice solo great playing.
This is probably one of the best sounding albums I heard for years. Protocol is always TOPDOGS - but this is Überdog. Insane level of musicianship. What a power demonstration. Cannot wait to hear this live 🙏🎹☮️💜 Sune 🎹🇩🇰

Saw this band last night in Seattle! What an epic performance. Absolutely remarkable. Must-see band! 😁
SP's fill at 10.46 is just sublime. Absolutely epic.
Just a beautiful track. It’s counterpoint rhythmically is subtle care of Simon. I can now see the gift Otmaro Ruiz brings to the party. Beautiful acoustic playing by him.
Getting some "Sirius" vibes here ;)
Amazing piece of work. Simon has been one of my favorite drummers for decades. His left hand technique is the best I have ever seen.

Alex's faces are amazing, lol. It looks like he's going to cry.
I like the melody, harmony Simon makes. It have the enthusiasm to "protocol", something like beauty of mathematics, but sametime, it have warm, good old 90s futuristic atmosphere. This song sounds very live, very 2022ish, but I enjoyed the slight deep reverb and 90ish chorus guitar sound.
Wow! magnificent track, One of the all time Greats Simon and his awesome band. Hope you make it back to Chicago soon.
This band is just so extraordinary. Over the top, guys.
Simon P is the Master! If you are a fan of this great music, check Bill Bruford with Alan Holdsworth, Jeff Berlin etc from 40 plus years back. I’m thrilled there are younger musicians that follow their footsteps! Bravo!
Very nice, Simon. It reminds me of a Lee Ritenour production albeit quite a bit less smooth jazzy and a lot more driven. There is something about this composition that seems very open to contemplation, there's a sternness to it, as if it were intended to convey the lulls between executing a new phase of a life's plan. Anyway, great band of top notch players. This will sound out really well across my shop as I carve, sharpen, shave, saw, rasp, fit, glue, finish or just sit staring with a cup of coffee plotting to take over the world, as we all from time to time do. 😊
Beautiful.

MASTERPIECE!
"The Long Road Home" is just a beauty pearl.
Keith Emerson would have loooooooooooooooooved the piano solo ! Great combined effort here, love the close harmonies between the guitar and sax, and of course the not from this Earth drumming.... And ohhhh shot in glorious black and white !!! Love it ! Especially since I'm seriously considering going back to my roots and buy my deceased parent's and my childhood's home.... Hence, appropriate title in that regard, the hymn of my next months....years....
I love everything of this masterpiece! Wise use of counterpoint and great musicians interpretation too! Great quality recording of course! I was lucky to see Ernest Tibbs in a live performance with the Holdsworth band: he's an amazing bass player! I couldn't believe my eyes and ears!
What a killer track !
Excepcional reunião de gênios!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Beautyful!
Beautifully Metheny-esque. Hopeful and joyful. Takes me back to the most profound moments of my life and lights a beacon for the future.

Wow
