Tinpot protest. Poorly run club but a club where its owners are happy to spend money on. Fans complaining over nothing.

Simon is spot on once again. The owners won’t sell because of a small protest. Business men don’t give up a money maker because people don’t like them, they’re used to it. The players are stealing a living as well. Robbing the fans blind each week yet people still back them.

While everything you (and Simon) say is true. It’s still ultimately the glazers who hired the people who both arranged for these players to join the club, and reward them with contract extensions - which by default makes it the glazers fault for allowing it to happen. To make it worse this has been going on for over 7 years now, meaning they havnt learnt, which means they are either incompetent or simply don’t care. If you owned a business and hired a mass murderer as an employee, then that employee kills everyone, it’s sort of on you as the business owner, don’t you think?

@@samwize28 comparing failing employees to a mass murderer is a wild stretch and in no way accurate to this situation. They haven’t hired people who have a history of failing at running football clubs, so the fact they failed isn’t on them. The length of time they stayed in situ is. The argument that can be made is what do you class as a failure? As a football fan obviously not winning a trophy is failure. As the owner of a business that is making more and more money, have these people failed their employers? No. Ultimately they own a business that makes them money, a few people not liking them won’t change that fact.

The Glazers haven't invested a single pound in Utd since they bought the Club...Old Trafford has seen no renovation or expansions in the last 16 yrs and is unfitting compared to the modern arenas like the Etihad or Spurs stadium. There is no ambition anymore at Utd to be the best club in the world. The Glazers have been a textbook on how to ruin a club. I fully support the protests. Man Utd problems all begin with the Glazers. Man Utd is a big brand and there must be a billionaire out there that is willing to buy the club. There were protests in 2005 when the Glazers were buying the Club, it's not new..in fact even a protest club was formed by some Man Utd fans the couldn't accept where the Glazers were going to take the club.

If we had any other GK rather than De Gea that season, we would never have finished 2nd. He was the best shot stopper in the world at that moment and probably earned us 15-18 points single-handedly. We didn't deserve 2nd place based on our performances.

Yes, a football club is a business but it's a very special kind of business, especially in the case of football in England. You can't expect to run it like Walmart (or pick your favorite giant American corporation). For the Glazers though, it's clear that Man U is just a marketing cash cow. They've signed (a good number of) vanity players that can sell merchandize. That's all they seem to care about. If Ten Haag has any kind of sense about him, he'll run as far and fast as he can in the opposite direction. If doesn't matter who the manager or players are if the club doesn't exist to compete. No reasonable football fan expects unlimited spending and unlimited success, but they do expect a club to have objectives beyond just making money. I'm not a Man U fan but I don't think it's good for English, or any football if this profits-over-people attitude is allowed to take over the sport. I don't actually believe it's a good attitude for society-at-large but that's another argument for a different day. You can be both a successful football club AND make money. It doesn't have to be one of the other.

Jordan is correct. The Protest will make absolutely no difference. United are a business and as owners they will leave the club when they feel it’s the right business decision. Pure and simple. The fans can protest, that’s their right but it will be to no avail. United fans are frustrated and I understand that, but they are no more frustrated than Arsenal fans or Everton fans. United fans had an unprecedented run of success in which their club averaged winning a Prem Title every 2 years for 26 years. That’s not going to happen again. With that a certain amount of a sense of entitlement may be at work here. Bad decisions and failure on the pitch is part and parcel a part of football. If fans feel like protesting they can do that but United fans should thank the stars they are not Everton fans, or any other team that hasn’t had the kind of success they have. The Glazers share the blame for putting the people in place that hired the people who manage the club and recruit the players. It’s been a total organizational failure. The belief that Changing ownership will change the fortunes of the club is naive. The best fans can hope for is that the next Manager is more Sir Alex, than Ole, Ralf, Jose, Louis and David.

Share holders are only involved to try and make money. PRIVATIZATION IS BAD, ITS BASICALLY MEANS PROFITS ARE NOT RE-INVESTED BUT GIVEN TO SHAREHOLDERS. I’m a Man United fan - the fact is that the blame at this current moment is shared amongst the Club owners and the current squad as they are not performing nor showing any desire. Simon’s point usually seems to be lost as arguments are seen as binary outcomes - 0,1 (True, False), when in reality this is all made up of several, continuously moving, components. The point is that poor decision-making, paired with a squad that has become aimless and soft leads to extensive and prolonged issues. It can be a lot easier to make a mess than to clean it up, and i think that is very much the case here - it will take a couple of years of making better decisions than worse consistently, before the tanker starts moving in the correct direction. Man United is a huge club and is need of investment in quality, hunger, and talent - the club is always bigger than any owner, manager, or player.
