The Rangers board and hierarchy are simpleton's that's the reason why. Just look at the turnover in their squad over the summer, no one sane would have thought they'd even be challenging with the quality they let go and with what they replaced their squad with. They got rid of around 40-50 goals.

I’m a Chelsea fan and absolutely loved Lampard as a player. I felt he did a pretty decent job in his first season managing Chelsea, but the wheels quickly came off. Even I think it’s pretty strange they’re considering Lampard. He hasn’t proven anything.

For me Lampard would be a big gamble for Rangers

I know it's unlikely but can't we go for Mourinho? At least make him an offer. He doesn't need money, loves a challenge, and has a history of success. Nah, we'll end up with some dud and have another decade of 2nd place and endless excuses.

He did remarkable job with Derby ✓ He took a transfer banned Chelsea to top 4 ✓ He was able to use young players and promote them ✓ He fell out with senior players ∆ He did bad with Chelsea in 2nd season ∆ He steered Everton out of relegation ✓ He couldn't make Everton score goals as he was to focused on not conceding goals ∆ He was entrusted to see a demoralised Chelsea's season out for last 8 games \\ There are goods and bads but people will make it sound like he doesn't have any acumen, its really odd. Lampard might end up being a very good manager not because of his success but most likely because of a mixture of experience.

I've heard Ange Postecoglou big up his country man Kevin Muscat who followed after him managing Melbourne Victory and has since followed a similar path to Yokohama F. Marinos. It is in Ange's nature to say nice things about people, but having the advantage of seeing both managers perform over several seasons both in the A-League and the J-League it would be a huge mistake to think that they are the same or that what Ange has done at Celtic and now Tottenham could be replicated. I believe it would be a mistake for Rangers to appoint him, but I also wouldn't be appointing Lampard either. What's Steven Gerrard up to these days?

As a villa fan,I recall when lampard was at Everton & took anwar el ghazi on loan from us,a player who misses quite a bit but won’t stop trying & will score important goals & the odd worldly,guess how many minutes he played in an Everton side desperate for goals,you guessed it,none-0,I’ve also never seen a manager throw his players under the bus so often,I do hope he gets another chance in football management though,as long as it’s with one of villas rivals lol

El Ghazi could have been a starter for Everton, he put in some big performances at Villa and got some big goals

Lampard could be an excellent manager, he deserves a 2nd go. Rangers is not the place for 2nd chances right now. Emphasis on "right now". The club needs experience right now

We need our own people in. We need true blues and our own put in posts throughout the club. We have fell away from that and losing our identity through it. The last successful managers of Rangers were scottish bluenoses. No coincidence there. I could write a book about this and in contrast to celtic who have all their own people in.

Everton finished 8th the year they sacked Koeman, 12th year they sacked Silva, and Marco Silva had a full season he got Everton 8th place so don’t get this relegation comment. The only true relegation battles Everton had in full seasons were 2021/2022 2022/2023 and potentially 2023/2024 however it’s a myth Everton have been ij relegation battles before the year 2021. I love how people use this just to hate on guy, did no1 watch his on sky, Jamie carragher and the host brought his Everton stats up, he done a good job there. Madness this agenda.

As an aston villa fan ill tell you what rangers might get from signing lampard based on our experience signing Gerrard, he'll bring buzz, confidence, hope, maybe a couple good players that's about it it'll make things good for a while but if he hasn't learnt his lessons he will flop. He's a massive risk for any club signing him, rangers will be better off finding a stable manager that has a record of doing what they want to achieve in the style they want it done, the clubs that up are on the up right now are the ones that do this, it's pointless having a club that want to do things one way and a manager that wants to do it another. Just look at spurs right now they struggled for years with ill fitting managers, now they're flying.
