Thanks for the reaction ! The girls met at school. ( they are approximately the same age ) and bonded over their shared love of classic era rock / pop music. ( late 60's through to late 70's early 80's ) . They both come from musical families and started on acoustic guitars from when they were young . They are excellent songwriters / performers and have gradually phased out most covers from their live shows . However I've never heard them using pitch correction in their performances as it's against the classic rock / pop ethos and they have no need to as they naturally tight hormones as evidenced by this particular recording . Hoping to hear more of their excellent covers reviewed . Cheers !

Well there is no escaping the fact that I like Simon and Garfunkel. Still have the original records no one else wanted them. Though I can’t listen to them I’ll still keep them. We use to live out in the middle of nowhere. It was actually called Lost Acres. Me and 2 of my brothers would sing a lot of their songs on that very long bus ride. We apparently didn’t suck. The bus driver would make requests. Went back to that area last summer after 45+years. Didn’t know completely realize we were one of those poor families. There were times we were very aware with now electricity for stretches. Other things too but I’m babbling because of thinking of singing these songs on an empty bus ride. So back to the cover. I think it was well done but belongs to the original here. Nice listening to your comments too. Take care. 🙏🙏🙏

Great response, I have a stereo and could play my records some of which are original. But I don’t. Lots to say about being the poor kids and not knowing it but I’m sleepy so I should take advantage! Unusual!!

Sorry, I forgot to thank you for the reaction and review. Their first full length album is being released May 3. They've had singles and EPs, but now a full album. Their resume includes opening for Status Quo and also Van Morrison. They toured Europe supporting Eagles of Death Metal and had a couple of supporting tours of the UK and will have their second headlining tour of the UK and Ireland in May. They've had two originals songs used in Irish tv shows and they appeared in the series finale of Irish Police drama Blue Lights performing a Dolly Parton song in the final scene of the series final episode. They've also won Best Singe and best new band in Northern Ireland Music Prize a couple years ago, two UK and Ireland itunes #1 singles and recently had their song Black Rain voted track of the week for Classic Rock Magazine. One more item to mention they played legendary Wembley Arena opening for Jacksonville Jaguars concert for their London game with the Falcons.

Love the original. The cover had me uneasy for some reason which I puzzled over for awhile. I think I've decided is that it was too clean, as if it were pitch corrected, which just doesn't work for my ears. If it wasn't they are certainly talented. Well, they are certainly talented regardless but it didn't sound natural to me. Sorry to be a downer.

You're not a downer brother. I like hearing all the opinions good or bad. It's really all subjective anyway. The second take by Dea Matrona was very clean however I didn't hear any processing. Who knows though, these days/ having worked with many bands over the years, I've learned anything is possible. Definitely, the voices were different than Simon and Garfunkel. But again. I didn't hear autotune. The lady stage left had a unique warble to her voice, but it sounded natural. But again, who knows. Thanks for the comments, Wade.

I doubt it was pitch corrected. They performed this live on stage and it sounds pretty much the same. Last tour they covered two acoustic songs, this and one original, but the rest was all electric. They are both very good singers and I've been following them for years now and I've not heard any pitch correction comments previously. I think it's actually them.

@@VinE83656 Please don't mind my opinion, I'm no expert and was just puzzled over my own reaction upon listening. For whatever little it's worth, in your clip they sound different to me, and I really like that one.
