I think everybody has a bit of a thing for gospel music, even if you're an atheist (like me) so you keep it a little bit of a secret because the passion and love the singers radiate is intoxicating. I think everyone needs a little more love and happiness in their life regardless of your religion, or anything else abiding by the no harm principle.

I felt that thru my whole body, now I'm crying. That had to have moved Simon. It did the rest of us. Very wonderful, moving & holy. Thank you for being all of you. It does it makes us want to go to church. I grew up in church in the choir for awhile I love church. Miss mine so far away now. Never far from my heart. Baptized there in a tiny little white building with the long row of sunday school rooms. Now my "Grace Church" of Glendora, CA is huge with new sanctuary with balcony & Grace Hall. @Bezz Read the New Testament. Almost everything Jesus preaches about is how to treat other people, and how to react when others are persecuting us.

WOW, this man has one of the sweetest hearts of all time, instead of making a scene out of what simon said, he just put it in a really funny and happy way. You might think he just licked his fingers, but he actually did more than just that. He tried to shift the hate out of Simon's way and keep everything calm, happy and enjoyable. I respect that man!

I lift my hands in total praise to you. One of the staple hymns in a black church. Excellent performance, but it's tough when you've seen it done a thousand times. I'm happy for everyone who gets to experience it for the first time. Head down to your local Baptist church and I'm sure you'll hear it again.

The song was written by Richard Smallwood in 1996. I'm pentecostal, Jentezen Franklin is my pastor, and that song gets regular play at our church. :)

+abdilahi jama I think Acelia is saying "So what" in response to your claim that "He doesn't need your praise", which he (of course) doesn't. People do not praise Him because they believe He _needs_ it; they praise Him for all He has done (and continues to do) for us. It's kind of silly to say that it would be "insulting to God", haha

The gospel is the message of CHRIST. This was a performance for competition and entertainment purposes. EVERYONE IS PRAISING THESE SINGERS NOT THE LORD.

Total Praise was the song the choir did at my mother's funeral. The song will always have a special place in my heart.

Sounds heavenly!!!!

2:40 every shot of the audience and even judges you can see it in there eyes and smiles, their souls are being fed.

Im a church of Scotland Presbyterian and visited a black church in London and it was the most moving experience I've ever had. Ive never been hugged so tightly by strangers. It changed my life forever.

Besides Simons remarks when the singing and praising was being sung the audiences silent reaction and facial expressions and the same for the judges was awesome cause when your praising the lord great things happen whether people are aware of or not absolutely beautiful

+Genos Demon Cyborg It's certain that the woman I referred to is singing part of the alto notes though, which is the resonant note I hear, you can tell by the movements in her face/mouth during the note changes on the "aa" of the last 'amen' - the other female part is the soprano bit which is a constant high note that doesn't change on the last bit so it wouldn't have been that. It's possible that the note is blended with more than one person, and that can often happen when a choir sings a straight note and it all sounds like one person, but as the resonant note had a distinct vibratto, it would have relied on several people all having the same vibratto, which is unlikely, which led me to my conclusion. It could well have been several people though, but it doesn't sound like it to me at least on the video, maybe she was closer to the audio recording microphone.

XD but yes- naturally as a judge it's slightly careless of me to say "stop judging them". anyways, it's a good thing he judges honestly after the performance.*

Amen makes everyone feel good, any spiritual path. Islam & Sufi- Amin/Ameen/Amen. Jewish & Christian, Buddhist & Hindu- all say Amen. A Pagan god was named Amen/Amun/Ammounra. It's affect is Universal because Heaven is for Everyone, Amen. Cheers!

That was really astonishing, my mother was director of the church choir & my aunt is a musical director my of the church choir.And I grew up singing in the choir at church and at school, they sound so beautiful and they are very talented, God bless 😇 blessings 😇

So moving. I m delighted that they and the audience thought likewise.

There is definitely a God whether some want to acknowledge him or not! He doesn't need us, we need him! How would you feel if your very own children said you don't exist? What an absolute shame! This performance was very very good! All honor to the most high God!!
