In today’s episode, we’ll be comparing some of the similarities between two Semitic languages, Amharic and Aramaic, with Betty (Amharic speaker) and Berta (Assyrian Neo-Aramaic speaker) challenging each other with a list of words and sentences.
Do you speak a Semitic language? If so, how much of the vocabulary were you able to understand?
Semitic languages that are most widely spoken today are Arabic, Amharic, Tigrinya, Hebrew, Tigre, Aramaic, and Maltese. There are other Semitic languages with a smaller number of native speakers.
Amharic is the official working language of Ethiopia, an Afroasiatic language and one of the Ethiopian Semitic languages. It is spoken as a first language by the Amharas and as a lingua franca by most people in Ethiopia.
Neo-Aramaic consists of several languages which are varieties of Aramaic. Among these, the Northeastern Neo-Aramaic and Central Neo-Aramaic dialects are spoken primarily, but not exclusively, by ethnic Assyrians, who are native to Iraq, Syria, Iran, and Turkey. Assyrians are among the Christian minorities in the Middle East, being members of the Assyrian Church of the East, Chaldean Catholic Church (Eastern Rite Catholics), Syriac Orthodox Church, Ancient Church of the East, Assyrian Pentecostal Church and Assyrian Evangelical Church.

Quem criou a religião católica creio eu que seja Paulo, pois é dito na bíblia que após a crucificação de Jesus Cristo. Paulo foi fazer milagres e falar sobre Deus com os fiéis. Existe até uma parte da biblía que se tornou parte do filme John Constantino. Paulo e seus discípulos estão fazendo exorcismo. Os garotos mais novos de Paulo vão fazer exorcismo longe de Paulo... sozinho com o demônio e o demônio pergunta a ele "Quem é você? A Paulo eu conheço. Você não." É o garoto morre. Não necessariamente que o filme John Constantino veio disso, mas eu acho que faz referência. Porque eu disse que uma parte da bíblia fez parte do filme e não falei que o filme fez parte da bíblia? Porque é tão antigo que mesmo que você não queira as vezes você faz referência, mas eu te garanto que quem escreveu a bíblia não estava pensando em como o fiel vai usar essa informação, mas que o fiel vai ter consciência que ele escreveu a bíblia para nós guiar.

I totally understand that there are non-Habeshas in both Eritrea and Ethiopia. the atheist guy who fucked allah Erbil in our Akkadien Assyrian language means Arbaèlo the fourth gods Musul it’s a city in Nineveh plain Nineveh is an Assyrian city and Kerkuk too these are our Assyrian lands since 7000 years before christ before the abrahamic religions , so no these cities are ours not turkmens cause turkmens were brought by ottomans from turkmenistan 🇹🇲 to get these lands in the future, we still exist we still alive why would you think that erbli musul and kerkuk belongs to turks!? Have you read about Assyrians and their empire before? And yes I don’t like persian gypsies they used to come to our lands and bother us! tr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asur

I always was suspecting something between Semitic languages. This clears my mind and removes doubt. Thank you guys, even if it is a simple thing you did, but it has a big message and opens a door for more about ancient linguistic, cultural, religious and psychological connections. Well done!

Why Semitic women's are so stunning?! Just look at those Ladies 😍😍
SO AWESOME to see Betty back in the seat :-P I got pretty much the same as she did, but I know if I were there I would have bombed, because I have many Assyrian friends and can't understand at all. The fact that today it is Amharic with Assyrian just brings such happiness to me today, as this is precisely the beautify of our Christian heritage which unifies us. Bizu fikir ke Italia, konjoye!!!! Much love to to my Ethiopian and Assyrian brothers and sisters from Italy.
Fairly easy for an Hebrew speaker to understand as well, you just have to really focus on the root of the words and then it's not that overwhelming. Great vid Bahador, as usual!

I wish we were as good as the English and the French at telling our own story. The obvious shared history and genetic similarities proves that we were also explorers, just that we probably didn’t immediately subjugate each other.
It’s good to see both languages how similar they are but please try Tigrinya and Aramaic.
Amazing! I am Amharic speaker and I never knew these similarities. This just tells us that all of ancient civilizations borrowed from each other. Thank you

It is not that one borrowed from the other; it is that both are Semitic languages and, as such, have numerous similarities today after thousands of years of divergence.
Love it keep it up do more of Assyrian vids ❤️❤️

Very interesting! We are so focused in our differences I am sure most of us (Ethiopians)doesn’t know this similarity before. Good to know.
It’s really very interesting the Aramaic language alphabet also very close to Amharic alphabet. I would love to see if you guys make Hebrew and Amharic. Thank You 🙏🏼 it was fun watching you guys
Nice video and both girls look beautiful. I only missed one of them tho.
Cool! Almost got all of them!
Woooho i wanted this one for over a year
As an Arabic native, I discovered a very important thing to notice here. Apparently Arabic (Central Semitic) had a vowel shift regarding the last word (Life) (Khayootha) (Hayiwet). In both Amharic and Assyrian, the root maintained the (ou) sound, while Arabic has shifted to the (a) sound. Life in Arabic is (Hayaah) or (Hayaat). Probably it's been written hundreds of years ago in some phonology/languages book. But it was cool to discover from the video :D
Betty is super pretty. I speak amharic and a little bit of Arabic. It was so easy to learn for me coz z words have the same root as Amharic since both are Sematic. Also try fruits like ananas(Pineapple), Birtuka(orange), muz( banana)....Those are litterally the same words in both. Ana Ahibek ❤

Amaric not semetic language. Aramic wich is semetic and close to Arabic language
The word Lob/لب is interesting because in Arabic it means 'core'. And it's often used to refer to the core of a fruit from where you'd extract seeds. The word for 'Heart' is 'Qalb/قلب' There's also 'Tamma' , the word the Assyrian girl mentioned. In Arabic you'd say 'Thammata' to say 'There is' while in Algerian Arabic we actually say 'Temma/Themma' to say 'There' or 'Over there'
