It's not an excuse. They just do. Example, after the wedding affairs comes the thanksgiving party the following day, and so forth for each occasion. They celebrate life, that's Yoruba for you.

All though I'm not Yoruba, (Am Ijaw-Ibani) and I don't know a few words in Yoruba, this song really made me proud to be a Nigerian-American. For the past few days I have been feeling down about myself and my heritage, but this song has given me foundation and joy.

If you want to learn simi's language particularly. Then it is called YORUBA. There are tons of video on you tube you can learn basic words and their meanings. However, Nigeria is a country of about 250 languages, if Nigerian languages is your interest. Learning a new language is always welcome, am starting Swahili lessons soon

owambe....loosely translates to "I was also there"... it is a word for party freaks who must attend all parties

Owambe translates to "You were there" O - wan - be, it's a way Yoruba people describe a must attend event, a party. Mowanbe would be "I was there".

Owmbe also means...its all there. It's referring to a party that has everything from good music to good food, good drinks, everything you'd possibly want in a party
