He probably is a Barbary Lion, they have thick coat beneath their belly

I really admire people like you and the others who take the time to help these poor neglected animals. Hopefully this lion will live a happy life now.

Circuses should be band we got wildlife preserves to view animals in the wild what kind of thrill is to stare at a caged animal sobbing cause he's stuck in a cage

*wild animals in circusses should be banned, not necessarily the circusses themselves... cirque du soleil (and many other modern circusses) dont harm animals, they dont use animals in shows as its suposed to be :)

He's so calm because his spirit was broken living in such a horrible environment. These rescue sanctuaries are amazing, real heros. Hope Simba feels like the king he is. Such a beautiful boy!

As it should be. His spirit isn't broken, it's bruised. It's why they teach him to be a normal lion. He was sedated from the trip is why he's unsteady.

She said," Ive never seen such a calm lion". Poor baby was just so used to being crammed into small places he was broken of his spirit, Im tearing up right now, but SOOO HAPPY he was rescued from that hell.

This is the first time I saw a lion whose mane hair extended till his hind legs. And very calm indeed !♥️

Thanks to all involved in Simba's rescue, it is a huge undertaking and so grateful for organizations that rescue animals and to have airlines and car companies and others assisting is awesome. The wildlife reserve looks beautiful and I'm sure Simba will have a long and happy life there!

This lion had a banner made with his name on it and a choir singing for him. Most people dont show eachother this much respect. Its awesome yet very strange.

What a beautiful beautiful beautiful boy OMG ! What great people they are we need so so so many more people like this in the world 🌍!!!!

Even though animals don't make the same expressions as humans, it's still easy to see the emotions in their eyes and body language. When the people crowded him at the airport you could tell he was nervous and confused; and when he saw the new enclosure, he had this look of happiness, and excitement. You could tell how much he wanted to investigate it as he stood at the door. Animals don't have to speak to tell us how they feel. Thank you guys for giving him this new home!

I believe that Simba is calm because he can feel the goodness of the cause. Animals have a sixth sense like that.

He's just transferred to another cage, i thought simba will be taken into the wild like in the africa,there he can hunt, he can roar with pride,he can run, he can mingle with the other lions and animals there... But still happy he's doing great and i felt lil bit sad that i cant find a pride spirit from him because i know animals had a feeling like humans and i know that simba knew he's not totally free.... I salute those people who did everything for simba.... To put simba in a better place....

Whoever had him originally must have done their best to care for him. He doesn’t appear to have been extremely unhappy. Of course being in his natural habitat is wonderful (theoretically, if he can avoid poachers, disease, etc)

Beautiful...I remember going to Bronx zoo and seeing the lions there they all depressed as the rain and snow was pouring on them. They belong back home in Africa, like Simba, that’s where they are the happiest.

What a wonderful thing to see Simba go to a much better way of existence - he got a beautiful welcome. It was also very moving to me to see Virginia McKenna still going at it for the animals - grew up with and loved her so much along with Bill. Keep up the good work Born Free!

Thank you for all you do!! Including the donors, caretakers, cooks, cleanup crew etc., too many people to list!! Everyone they need help with them financially. The whole process can get expensive.

Keep up the good work - I always remember when my late partner & I went to Egypt to see the way the animals were treated broke my heart so please keep looking after the animals that do not have a say !!

I really like and appreciate the celebration of Simba and his journey back home. I appreciate the fact that for once humanity wasn't focused on its own needs and desires, but rather a majestic creature that we so often demean for our own selfish entertainment.

Could be a hope if people of Africa may understand what treasure they have and claim back all lions, elephants from across the globe and not to allow lion farming or hunting for fun and money.
