I have Simagic products. Never had a problem. Software support is outstanding. I emailed them about the "authorized retailor" issue and they responded that it ensures three things: faster response times, distributors can offer direct replacement authorizations if needed and it avoids buyers falling prey to counterfit products. As far as Tech Support goes, I cannot vouch because after owning my wheelbase and three wheels for two years the products are bullit proof and have never had an issue. I even converted a Fanatec F1 to NRG mount and USB and with Fanaleds it works perfectly. As far as manufacturing quality goes, these products are made in Hong Kong with very strict QC vs the mainland. I highly recommend all of the Simagic product line. Thanks for the review and be safe!

Gday mate, love your videos, always honest and like you always say, people need to make their own decisions. I’ve had the alpha mini with the GT1d rim for a few months and love it. In regard to SimMagic and customer after sales care, I think they’re right the way they’ve gone about it. My alpha mini base had a faulty USB connection which meant it was useless, I contacted my supplier and they had a new unit to me within days. I can’t imagine how long that would have taken if I had to deal directly with the manufacturer in China.

@@chepilevski Thanks! I was using Thrustmaster belt driven and I realized I like different wheel feel for certain car types, Formula, GT, etcetera. Figured it made sense with the Simagic upgrade to get different wheels. It’s nice having the opinion of someone who actually knows what performance/race driving feels like IRL.

Today is 02/13/2022. My Simagic Ultimate with FX wheek show up in two days. I'm very impatient as it is. But it's killing me to wait. After having a TS-XW for 5 years the upgrade anticipation is very hard to wait for. Thank you for your reviews. I didn't buy what I bought because of your reviews. But your reviews helped steer me towards getting the Simagic.

@@chepilevski Yes it will. Do you have any pedals you’d suggest looking at under $1000? Won’t be upgrading from my TLCM’s right away but that’s the next upgrade.

It's almost like they're reading my mind with this wheelrim. I've spent months looking into new DDs but couldn't find a decent all-round 300-330 mm rim because I tend to drive a load of different stuff and don't feel like immediately spending on multiple rims.

When will you do a walk around and show your complete sim rig? Looks great!

Just sold my g923 and bought an alpha mini with GTS wheel. What an incredible improvement. I know it’s probably not saying much from a Logitech system but the button are tactile and wheel pleather is smooth and soft and grippy. It has a two flat spots at the bottom ends of the wheel which I don’t what what design is for.

Perfect wheel for when it’s time to replace my Modded TM leather wheel i’m currently using on An Alpha Mini. Especially like that the shifters are on the quiet side , as that puts me off most others.

First of all - Great Vid again. Question: I have a Alpha Mini with GT4 Wheel - I am looking for a new wheel - my eyes are on this one but also on the FX Pro. If you compare this two only from feeling during driving, dont look at Display and other features --> Which is your choice? (Basically for GT-Cars - sometimes Open Wheel)

Thx for the kind words Thomas ! The FX pro is one of the most comfortable wheels I have around and I use it for GT cars particularly! The handles are super smooth and great in feeling with gloves and without 😃 Of corse the price difference is huge!

I wish Simagic had a slightly bigger wheel, clean shape and few simple buttons for lower price. What steering wheel is good for drifting? What are the good options? Deep dish shape? 330mm or 350mm?

Hey buddy, thanks for the kind words man 🤗 Honestly I’m not a drifter and don’t have much opinion about that but from my experience, anything above 330mm is best experience from wheel rotation in speed and smoothness for drifting as we don’t need too fast rotation in this stile driving and deep dish will be comfortable if you are manually shifting with H or SQ shifter! There are plenty of choices in that size and you can get any of there wheels for other racing and just deep dish wheel with there QR for drifting!

@chepilevski what brand can you suggest? I don't want to spend a ton of money and it has to be nice. DND rim looks good for $150. Do you know anything about them? momo/sparco is more expensive $250

would you recommend the alpha or alpha mini with it? i dont know if the 220 euro more for the alpha is worth it. love your videos, in my opinion some of the best sim racing content out there.

If worth is very individual but for example, I never felt short of power even with the Moza R9 which is 9nm in any normal driving case scenario! More power is fun but for the last 4-5 years of driving DD bases , I probably used 15nm or above 1% of the time ! For some people 1% can worth the for other not ! Hope it makes sense buddy and have a good weekend 🍻

I also agree that Alpha is more than enough. If you can wait, the 220$ is well worth it. But the mini will still do a good job. I'm of the spend once and save in the long run.

hey again so I've been using the simmagic mini, and simpro manager beta. I race gt3, and i just cant seem to dial in the settings correctly. Wondering if you could make a video going over the software and how to dial in correct ffb for iracing.

I would try to do that but basically here how I try to run any FFB trough all wheel! I try to go as low in the post processing filters which is the Smoothness filter in Simagic software! I run that at 1 For damping and friction I use personally lower numbers like maximum 10% That may feel like very light on the strength around center but I don’t mind that ! In those settings the FFB doesn’t fight against those dynamics and I can feel full the texture of the road! Ones I start cornering the ffb load and I can feel the limits of the grip! The speed is on max as I want maximum reaction of the wheel and the interpolation filter helps the low textures of the road more pronounced and the same time make’s transition of the forces more smooth so I use that at maximum! You can test that and see if you like it but FFB is very personal preference and the best way is to test everything you can till you find your own personal sweet spot! In those settings my brain just reacts better but can be different for you !

If you have SiMagic wheelbase, and if you want all purpose round wheel, for rally, drifting, GT Cars,... then this 300mm diameter wheel for just 300 EUR is a no brainer. The quality seems good. This wheel punch above its weight.

where you see 300€? Is 400+€ + shipping. In europe is like more 419€ + shipping. The italian supplier have put some time ago the gt1 on sale 449€.

I'm in the hunt for an entry level dd. Wad thinking Moza r9, simagic alpha mini. Not sure what else I should look at... suggestions? I have the Fanatec CSL Elite v2 pedals coming. So should I consider fanatec?... or doesn't really matter? Also what's a good reseller here in the US?

Simotion is good one in US ! I personally love The R9 and I used it strength for 8 weeks with zero problems and very satisfying FFB and the same with the Alpha Mini before! Those two are equally great choices in my opinion and you can’t go wrong! Just check which ecosystem you prefer if you go between those two ! I can’t personally suggest other brands as I don’t have much experience with the CSLDD and I will test it at some point but for now I can’t talk about that choice! Hope other can help you with that !

So csl dd is out for me now. Looking like alpha mini but darn that f1 flagship wheel from moza is sexy! Trying not to let that sway me... especially since I'm usually racing in vr

I had my thrustmaster tx for long time sooo happy..many years ,hours..and finally ive decided jump to the DD bases, for me personally when i got in my hands my new alpha mini with the fx formula..I was surprised the quality of this product. I can use others steering whells just using the QR. Ive been waiting for some rally model...this gts its looks nice but im still thinking if buy or not..the desing still not what i really want...but for sure the quality and price of this brand is not bad...

Hello, do you have any experience with simagic alcantara or alcantara in general? This wheel is offered in both and I can't decide. Looking up leather vs alcantara online didn't really help.

I prefer the Alcantara which is suede by the way as it has better grinding in use then the leather which slides and make my hands sweaty. The advantage of the leather is, it keeps clean for longer and the suede became dirty in few weeks but I personally don’t mind that aspect 🤛

Great Video, you have never been biased about a brand or a company as long as we can attest. The market is open, and everyone has the right to make his own opinion on personal reasons without any subjective undermining consciously or subconsciously for other people decisions. I hate the propaganda about what Chinese is and what is European or American as equivalent for quality. Eventually, we all look for quality, good price, and highest performance per cost without going beyond point of diminished returns, where you spend but gaining nothing significant instead. In that aspect, everyone is different based on his own experiences and financial status as well. So don't let other people change your own beliefs and convictions if you truly believe they are true and valid. Your reviews have always been solid and up to the point without faffing or throwing brand marketing shady techniques. Would love to meet you one day in person. Keep the good content coming 👌

Are the bumps in the round shape where your hands rest very noticeable when drifting? One of the only things holding me back from ordering this wheel is that the shape isn't 100% round, I don't know how I'd feel about those indents in the shape.

I’m not drifter to be honest and don’t know if the anatomic shape really bothers! For me the shape of those wheels one’s I get used are very comfortable and helps me to understand ware the steering is pointing but that’s me! I really don’t know how will that work for you buddy !

I use my rig for pretty much everything from F1 to rally to drifting and even playing truck sims so I'm just looking to get the perfect wheel that can do it all and I think this GTS is it. Hi Mate. Is there any way to use the GTS steering wheel on the FANATEC base? Can the GTS be connected to a PC using the USB port on the back. I'm really fed up with the fanatec steering wheel, it has the same texture as a toy.

I’m not sure it will work with that usb cable mate ! Usually those cables are for firmware updates! And that usb connection will be too weak to keep the cable in rotation of the wheel!

It is not possible for now with the new wheels buddy! And even if they make it possible, the connection is not very secure as is just usb-c connection!

No buddy! Those wheels are compatible only with Simagic ecosystem 🙈 I hope to see some hub which will make them compatible with everything on the market as Moza are doing it but I don’t know if that will happen 😞

Bought some Simmagic Products the other week, made excellent use of Black Friday sales and was able to snatch a Alpha Mini and GT-Cup Wheel with the clutch paddels for $900 euros. First Direct Driver ever and arrives soon! Can't wait!

Thinking of buying the same setup again from a different site but it's gonna be an extra 150 euros. So not sure what to get. They delivered me the wheelbase but not the wheel. Not sure what to go for.

@@chepilevski I've kept the Base they sent the items seperately althought It was 1 order, so the Base came and as far as I've tested its fully working just they never sent the wheel. ( They refunded it by just refunding the value of the Wheel, which they did not send ).

If made in China vs Made in Germany means getting a metal D1 QR out of the box with a Simagic, then what does that mean for made in Germany? Last I checked VS the alpha mini the CSL DD came with a plastic QR.

I can say from my experience that leather is far better in long-term use. it's also better for rally and drifting. I've owned 1 Alcantara rim and never again. They look great but need constant care, or it will look and feel terrible after a few months, even with gloves.

@Jack Aubrey my experience is with a TM wheel. When I went to a DD, I went to leather and never looked back. I was cleaning it every week. I also have experience with real cars using Alcantara rims and all needed lots of care or after 1 years it's completely done. It's a shame since they look better but that's all. In the end comes to what you want I can only give my experience with Alcantara on different rims.

@Jack Aubrey np with leather I don't use gloves and often do 3 to 5hr sitings in DR2. I never had issues, but if I use gloves, it does get slippery. They both have pros and cons, but leather works best for me but good leather. The cheap stuff does slip a tons. The fact we can buy anything we want nowadays is very cool. This market has opened up so much since 2019 and gets better and better every day. Now, if only the economy could go back to before 2020, we could take better advantage of this 😆

Damn! i had just bought the GT-C in order to put a round rim on that and this comes out for just 65% of the price (including a sale) just a month after it arrived , but i'm just going to add the GTS to my collection!

Same for me. So I ordered the GTS and now I’ll have a GT wheel and an all rounder. The GTC has all the knobs you need for GT and open racing.

I have the gtc-c & mini as well, great wheel, maybe a formule style carbon wheel diy project for the pro hub (Or AliExprrs in time) and for dirt, drift and rally a 70 mm QR with Omp round wheel (low weight) and the simagic SQ1s..

Interesting product that fits perfectly into their lineup. Now the only missing piece is less expensive pedals than their P2000. If they make a cheaper 2 pedal set with similar quality (without hydraulics and dampener) but retaining solid construction, adjustability and that spring/loadcell setup I think they could go for the win :)

Only thing turned off by this is the fact that I can’t replace the rim with a different one and it doesn’t have clutch paddles. I’m looking to buy the GT hub alongside with the GT rim and round rim. But the GTS looks like it’s a good wheel nevertheless!

You can't change the rim on a butterfly stye wheel either and people still buy them without a thought but I agree, would of been nice to have clutch paddles but I guess they wanted to hit a certain price point.

What a silly question. Any time spent watching this channel and you would know his integrity is beyond reproach.

A company not willing to stand by their product but instead offer customer service for their products, only with very strict stipulations is a red flag. Great sounding product but when spending this much money, you need good customer service for when things go wrong.

I had considered this base quite a bit and it seemed like a great choice, but this reason is what made me second guess going with Simagic. I'm sure the quality is great (looks more physically solid than something like Logitech or Fanatec), however when spending 1K+ on a wheel base, 1 year warranty seems quite short and a bit concerning if problems arise after a year.

Customer service has been great but I made sure to buy from a local reseller. I think I got a year warranty but after a year with a GT1-D wheel and alpha mini base not a single issue, this thing is a tank and I use it pretty hard.

@simdad is correct you have to buy from an official re-seller and not Alliexpress and then you get your customer service from reseller

The guy has regular job. It's hard to find live online race that fit in his schedule, probably. It becomes harder with more gears he needed to review. It's the same with most sim racing gear youtubers.

I race in iRacing league races and some officials but I prefer to do those without all the cameras attached on my head 🙈 just let those to enjoy myself racing but I upload some races from time to time. Usually wen I race I’m with my friends in chat and I’m not sure if will be fun for watching 😁
