    Is it worth to upgrade from Mini to Ultimate ? I'm not talking about the 10 Nm vs 23 Generally speaking. Is there a difference ?? I'm using the Alpha Mini wheelbase with FX Pro wheel I'm a bit confused. 10 Nm vs 15 vs 23 Nm I'm okay with 10 Nm. What is actually the difference between the Mini and the Ultimate, except for the Nm?? For example, if Ultimate is set at 10 Nm and Mini as well, 10 Nm, do they feel the same? Has the Ultimate more " power " vibrations, etc, vs the Mini, when both are set at 10 Nm? What about the noise / heat ?! Does the big brother, Ultimate, generate more noise/ heat, vs Alpha Mini? Any advices are welcome, thank you in advance

    I heard you refer to the Leo Bodnar sim steering. Do you have any available to make a review please? The last review for Leo Bodnar was in 2018 and other reviews are from 7-10 years ago. Are they still relevant? Do they have good Software support? Why is it still being used by professional drivers such as Max Verstappen, Lando Norris. Is it better than the Simucube 2 Ultimate? Is it consumer friendly or do you need to have someone specialised to install it and set it up

    Leo Bodnar with the SS2 is still relevant but at it's price point, I would pick the SC2 Ultimate. There have been no new reviews for it since nothing has changed and is still the same system. The SC2 is still in active development. I think it just came down to preference for them. I also think it came down to CoolPerformance that built their rigs and are suppliers of Leo Bodnar.

    Changing the software settings really makes all the difference when it comes to direct drive wheelbases. It's somewhat oversimplified to say one DD wheelbase feels more numb than another, when all of these high or low frequency details can be adjusted freely in the software. The SimPro manager has come a long way since the Alpha manager, and it is completely capable to make discernible FFB changes according to your personal preference. Boosted media is not reviewing Simagic anymore due to some argument they had, which is a shame.

Boosted Media recently retested the VRS about a year after his original test of the VRS and was blown away, and said "this is almost like my Simucube 2 Pro, I really can't tell a difference". Perhaps his subscribers should suggest that he retest the Alpha Ultimate.

    You can't really go wrong with those two. Only thing you have to keep in mind is that if you buy the Simagic, you really should research the reseller and make sure they are good. While Vrs gives great customer support natively, Simagic do this through the reseller. I went back and forth and my final 2 choices were Simagic or Vrs. I went with Simagic but only because of 3 things really: Better form factor, their wheel ecosystem and qr. The better form factor is a small detail but nice. Their wheels were the big contributor, all are superb build quality for reasonable prices. Their Fx Pro wheel was something I really wanted. The same sort of wheel for a Vrs would be 2x that price. Finally their qr, its wireless, reliable and simple. With the Vrs I think I would have needed to buy their hub and a qr for the wheel and base part all separately? For me, if I could stretch my budget then I did want an endgame base and a formula wheel with a display. For that Simagic was cheaper then the Vrs. The Simagic Alpha U + Fx Pro ≈ 1900€. The Vrs + Cube Controls Csx3 ≈ 2300€. But those are with my wants and priorities, for you the Vrs may be better. As a sidenote I am going to get the Vrs pedals.

    I have an Alpna mini and I am disappointed. When using the wheel at 80% force in ACC it gets hot: 65/70 celcius in 20min. At some point during the stint such heat compromises the base torque output and you begin to feel the front axel getting lighter and lighter...and you loose sense of what it is. Did I burn the tyres? What's happening? Where's the grip? what's going on? And such things shouldn't be on your mind while you try to do you best. The reason to go 23nm is so that you can use at 40% power and don't experience such HUGE drawback. And such is the reason why the new Fanatec Clubsport DDs advertise a sustained force even after half an hour of driving. This issue on low end DDs has been underestimated by reviewers and is the reason why you need a much bigger torque output.

  • @regibson23

    @regibson23

    4 ай бұрын

    That's weird because Dan Suzuki did a test where he had the base clipping at max torque for like 15 minutes and only barely got up to 65 and only lost 0.9nm.

    No one is taking firmware updates into account. This video is 11-12 months old. Are we all assuming Simagic has made no improvements to their filters, the software and general firmware upgrades in 11 months? C'com....even Fanatec...notorious for being frustratingly slow at everything, made firmware updates to improve the user experience.....but we are to assume Simagic will just sit on the fence, idly sipping lemonade.....I doubt it.
