After the resounding success of Thundercats, Rankin Bass Studios decided put another design in the same molds of the felines on the market. Then came Silverhawks... The story of the animated tv series was relatively simple: a group of part-human, part-machine heroes fought against the most dangerous villains in the galaxy of Limbo (a distant galaxy, little bigger than our solar system). The team was always on standby, and like any self-respecting superhero, they had a headquarters, the Hawks' Nest, which was out there in space, keeping an eye on threats. Under the command of the team was Commander Stargazer, an old space cop with bionic capabilities thanks to mechatronic implants installed in his body. It was he who captured the show's main villain, Star Monster several years earlier, keeping him trapped on Penal Planet 10. In total there were 65 episodes in a single season.
