"Ipswich?... Well 'as olus bin there!" Best line in the video 😂 I'd never made the connection with the Aussie and New England accents although I was mistaken for an Aussie when I was in Scotland once. Great video

Thoroughly enjoyable. I laughed out loud at the comparison with Essex and Norfolk. Very well done both of you !

Thank you. This was thoroughly enjoyable and made me love suffolk even more. I'm in East Suffolk by the coast in Aldeburgh and Thorpeness.
Yep. We left our fish and chip shop in Ipswich for Australia in 1958. I was 6yo. Love Ipswich. Go Tractor Boys and Girls! ITFC forever!

Charming video. I have been studying Suffolk since I learned that my ancestors came from Ramsholt and Saxmundham and Rendham. Somehow you have captured just the Suffolk smile that I pictured. Love the interview with the man who knows all about Suffolk. Very similar to the humor in Maine where I live.
Loved it ❤
Brilliant, well done Boys !

Enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
Excellent work!
My 23andMe says I've got ancestors who came from far across the sea in East Anglia, so it was pretty interesting having this introduction to the area's history. Maybe, someday I'll find my distant relatives from the area! lol

As an Aussie the most telling phrase was uttered by Peter Cutts, right at the end when he said, 'right mate' as shook your hand. Sounded pretty familiar to me 👍 mate.

That was an excellent story about Suffolf. The guest you interviewed is someone I would have so many questions, my dad was born in Beccles Suffolk in 1921 he left to sussex before world War 2. Would love to find out about his birth place somehow. Im in America, too far to have a weekend in Suff, thank you.
The old fellas accent is class. It's such a shame that the Suffolk accent is almost dead, all the youth sound posh as f 😔

@@cuttsprojects2903 No need to apologise mate, it was a really insightful video which I thoroughly enjoyed. And plus I swap my cockney accent for your accent anyday haha at least you sound educated. I have a few pals in Suffolk that are the same age as me 21-25 and none of them have the suffolk accent. It's such a shame because it's such a unique accent and like you said, it sounds very much australian.

As an Aussie I never really knew where our accent came from and the first hint I got was when watching a documentary on a guy restoring old warbird engines. He lived in East Anglia(just down the road from you guys?) At first I thought he might be an expat Aussie but when I googled KZread for videos on East Anglia it kept throwing up a lot of Suffolk videos. After watching them I knew there was a connection. But yours was the first one to actually claim a connection to the Aussie accent. It is, however, normal Aussie. Not sure of the origins of Ocker. Yanks tend to use a Cockney twang when emulating it but that definitely ain’t it!
My suffolk family are the Sealeys, from Bures , this was really interesting. I live in Shotley

I live in Suffolk. If you spit hard with a following, you hit Norfolk. My parents were from Norfolk and I was born there. My big sister lives in Norwich. My late dad used to say that the purpose of Suffolk was to stop Norfolk fraying at the edges!
You missed Suffolk was the first place the King of England was crowned, at the chape just outside of Bures / Assington
