Love this band, always have.. people go on and on about Queen, Deep Purple, Zeppelin etc etc ( whom I also love,) but these guys were so awesome and are so undervalued and underappreciated in the world of British music..

Superb musicianship - they all play AND sing which is more than one can say for many a musician. It takes practice to be able to synchronise playing and singing, so often people give up at the beginning. But after a while, with perseverance, it comes naturally, and you don't think about it anymore. Here, we're talking about intricate chord sequences, syncopation and cross-rythms and singing! What's more, they were all GOOD singers - absolutely in tune. It's hard to find musicians as good as this nowadays!

takineti Hi, takineti. Do you mean why there are two drummers? When they played live, they used to have a drummer and a percussionist, or in this case, both Kevin Godley and Paul Burgess playing drums. When Kevin left, they had Paul Burgess playing drums or percussion and Stuart Tosh doing the same, for example you can see this in the footage of live concerts from the seventies and early eighties or on Top of the Pops, Dreadlock Holiday, etc. In any case, it makes for a super beat!

***** Yes, that's what I was meaning, thank you. My brother used to get free tickets from someone who worked at the Apollo venue in Glasgow (no longer there), and I ended up going to see most of the top groups round about that time, they varied from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Yes to oh so many others. Unfortunately, the opportunity for seeing 10cc didn't happen. I would gladly have paid for tickets had they come, maybe they did and I missed it. (Trivia: Lynyrd Skynyrd were actually support group to Dutch rock band Golden Earring, who must have regretted having such an awesome group as back up!)

takineti Ah, yes, takineti - that's super you had the opportunity of seeing the great bands of that fantastic era of music. (My dad was also one of those lucky ones and saw amongst others the Stones twice, The Who, Procol Harum, Cream at Farnborough Town Hall of all places - they were so "heavy and way out" after the preceding square dance band that they emptied the place leaving just my dad and two others!) Yes, it's funny that Lynyrd Skynyrd were chosen to be support for Golden Earring - it can be difficult to choose the right style of back-up. I'm sorry I didn't see 10cc live either! They were so good. You probably know that Graham's got a pretty good, tight band together with Rick Fenn, Paul Burgess and others which is currently touring the U.K. under the name of 10cc. Perhaps this could be your chance?! The only thing is that it's a great pity Eric Stewart's not part of it. There seems to be some bad blood between him and Graham. Eric's also really dropped out of that active, gigging part of the scene, although one can't really blame him for not wanting to tour - it can be pretty tiring. He's happy to put out solo albums from time to time. On the other side of coin, I think it's good for musicians to try to keep 'on the scene' otherwise they can get out of shape in all aspects and become wallflowers! We do miss seeing Eric put his musicianship into practice!

These musician/songwriters were very much ‘taken for granted’ during the 1970’s, in my opinion, they oozed talent - each one of them contributed bucket loads’ of lyrical & musical materials into the hand collectively. Thanks for the footage which brought back some lovely memories. JaneR

One of my favourite bands when I was a lad. Sounds so interesting to hear this live - it's easy to forget, now every live act has to be all singing all dancing multi media extravaganza -ish just how good it is to hear a small band strip back their recorded sound to something they can play live. And you can tell that they'd rehearsed. Great fun - the band look like they're having fun too.

A silly love song about silly love songs, that still manages to genuinely rock. I think 10CC's musicianship, song-writing virtuosity and on-stage technical performance was on par with anything that say, Queen - peers at the time - put out. For better or worse, Freddy Mercury's on-stage flamboyance was probably the one factor that made Queen a world-wide name, and 10CC a criminally-under-rated band. Where else do you find a band where all members sing, write music and are multi-instrumentalists. Love their stuff.
