True!! while I do agree hard that the lyric portion goes so hard that I’m frequently listening to the song as someone who’s not even an fnf fan, the entire song is literally so good !! the portion where he imitates boyfriend is a real good part that I love a whooole lot , though I think my personal favorite part (asides from the lyrics) are probably when the pitch begins to match the pitch of the lyric portion all the way up to the lyrics and the part after the lyric portion once the mirror is shattered to the end !

This music was made exactly for that. It's like, at the same time for herself, community and divide as well. This song literally is a way to express to divide and fans: "FNF isn't over, we are still alive and we will keep going. So stay awake (meaning divide and fans) to see all of this." So I think it's pretty sure he can hear this from somewhere and see how long sonic ex and community is going because of him. Rest in piece divide. 🥀

its most likely a custom bf chromatic that has been rerecorded by someone else and made to sound like bf. if not obvious, it has heavy compression and chorus/flanger

I just listened really hard. "Himself" and "Herself" are singing together in the lyrical section from the begining. To top it when "herself" manifests briefly to hug "himself", their voices are so distinct because briefly they arent intertwined. The distortion isnt from "himself" alone, it's because "herself" is always singing with him in the mic. You can always hear the second voice. Just an observation dont have all the facts just seen some snipits of lore and it seems to fit. Ps amazing song.

Man this is the my first face dive into FNF mods and this place is huge. I gotta say the whole story behind the BF's AU, Yourself, is sad af. Actually hearing Herself's voice quietly hidden behind Yourself's singing is such a good and subtle touch, and the animation conveys a lot of emotion. At first I thought this was going to be like an exe thing but looking up the lore for this song really changed the tone. It's like the leadup to the lyrics and the whole song is Yourself teaming up with BF to wake up Herself, just long enough to show her his/their way so she can say how proud she is of him. By the end after the cutscene is where they really start to sync up and flow, just doing their thing. The fact that the lyrics and character's movements sync with eachother at times like a mirror is super mesmerizing. I don't know if this gets asked a lot or happens at all but... I'd love to either see more songs revolving around Yourself or some kind of comic, animation, anything that can lay out the story more.

Going with this interpretation, I like to think they succeeded. After Herself shows up and sings a brief harmony with Yourself the notes are only blue- Gf/Herself's signature red having left. Be it because she can rest in peace now that she properly got to see it "his way" or for some other reason i have no idea
