Silkroad has joined with Partners in Health to pay tribute to the nurses and all healthcare workers on the frontlines of this dangerous virus.
In honor of International Nurses Day, the Silkroad Ensemble has created a special musical tribute. The song, "Ichichila," was used in Mali to accompany the extremely difficult and dangerous process of dyeing fabric with indigo to create highly coveted blue clothing. In the days of COVID-19, blue clothing is now the recognizable uniforms of our most important heroes; the nurses and healthcare workers who risk their lives every day to save ours.
We hope this song brings joy and hope as the whole world celebrates nurses. From all of us at Silkroad, thank you for all you do - today and every day!

How appropriate and generous of SilkRoad to acknowledge and thank on behalf of all of us, these frontline workers in our fight against COVID 19. Currently supporting my husband in his own battle against cancer, the nurses and all the medical staff here in our small corner of Spain have all been brilliant, giving unceasingly of their skill and time, in addition to the extra stress they are all working under. Amazing !
Want to thank the Silk Road ensemble for the recognition. Too often, nurses only hear criticism from supervisory staff, whether its from the nurse manager or the nursing director. As a nurse, I can personally attest to this. Don't get me wrong, we not enter this profession to hear praise. However, hearing thanks, even heard infrequently, can do a lot to boost morale.
