Just wonderful. Fantastic music, beautifully presented. All the musicians are brilliant and words cannot express what I think of Lea Desandres, so beautiful in voice and person.

Watching such wonderful young musicians as these gives me hope that classical music won't slowly die out with its current audience. We need less of the formal dress, pomp and ceremony and more of this - warm, intimate, beautiful and something that surely even a youthful audience, not familiar with classical music, could listen to and appreciate. Stunning performance.

I’m so happy to actually hear the theorbo, it’s amazing! Usually, in ensembles, it’s not miked and therefore it’s impossible for even my sharp as sin ears to hear, and I adore hearing solo players! So, in addition to the gorgeous singing and amazing ensemble work, I get an unexpected bonus!!

Beautiful! So many of my favorite pieces on the same program, played by my favorite musicians! Absolutely sublime performances. You all make this world a better place. What a great gift all of you are!

I think I must have done something good in a previous life to have perfection like this arrive, gratis: an hour of transcendent performance. One cannot deserve such a gift, these artists must know that, even now, in an empty hall, in a struggling world, they can catch and hold on to beauty for us all. When Lea Desandre perched down next to Thomas Dunford for the 'Lettera Amorosa', and the sublime artistic eroticism that followed ... the feeling of the Merula lullaby for the Virgin to her child, and all the instrumental work so warm, dancing, and vigorous, never formal. Of course, any recording will be welcomed and bought, but I will always watch Lea Desandra's face, so expressive always, and lit by the joy of singing. The concert recorded in July was like paradise with sun and a garden, this December concert in the city, but so empty, like a fallen world. But the art burns just as bright.

The merits of risk - Merula‘s canzonetta sung in a daring dramatic way, absolutely fascinating, rocking. Of course all interpretations have Nuria Real and Pluhar‘s Arpeggiata in mind, perfectly arranged and performed. But when you hear Desandre & Jupiter, then doesn’t Drama beat beauty? Seen from the text, the narrative, I think yes. Bravo à Desandre who sent many a shiver down my spine. And BTW - the Kapsberger is also absolutely fascinating, a world in its own.

We can always count on the lovely Lea to make her performances both wildly emotional and technically excellent. I forget what she was singing, but there's even a video of her in which the conductor had to help her dry her tears!

n'hésitez pas à aller écouter son "scherza infida" pour les 40 ans des arts florissants - this is where she ended up in tears. And blew away all of the other singers (good though they were), as well. It's a great listen.

Merci beaucoup! This performance is a great gift! Beauty in every aspect! They say Thomas Dunford is the director - I presume he is the one who plays the lute. As a guitarist I am very impressed by him. Normally this instrument takes away all the energy of the artist, but he is completely relaxed and cares about the music and about the communication, not about the instrument. It seems the lute plays on its own directed just by his will.

That's pretty much what I thought - he's listening to his musical colleagues...as good jazzmusicians should do...I love that.

Well there cometh the new generation! Little Thomas is half frog and half American, being in Gaul where the Gallic people fought Julius Cesar with the magic potion of their druid Panoramix, Thomas fell into the cauldron when he was a child. The recipe was concocted by his very talented parents. This explains his choices and the extraordinary quality of his group of marvellous musicians. Lea's expression is fantastic and one can always understand the words she sings. For an grumpy old man like me who has been on stage for half a century it is a great relief to see young people like this doing such a beatiful prformance, full of life and sharing the joy of playing. Bravissimi
