SIKA | Beyond The Highlands

Спорт

In this film we head to the northern part of Scotland, above the Highlands, in search of the shadow of the woods, Japanese Sika.
Notoriously difficult to stalk and elusive in their nature, this truly wild hunt (filmed early October) in the forests of Sutherland was a challenge, mainly due to the mild weather.
Despite a masterclass in calling from our guide, Nathan Windle, it really proved to be like pulling a thorn out of your finger and given Owen’s experience also shows that it sometimes doesn’t go to plan.
This is film 1 of 2 to enjoy. For the full immersive experience we recommend watching on your TV/monitor with sound up! Enjoy!!

Awesome deer, the Sika. Hairs on the neck always stand up when you see the ghost of the forest appear. They don't need to be an 8 all the time. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed. We have adapted our film style slightly, to make the viewer feel more immersed in the action, like they are really there following along on the hunt too. With the immersive sights and sounds around we experienced.

Great vid, perfectly catches the atmosphere of an early morning stalk in a beautiful location. This isn't a criticism purely a point of interest but I was surprised to see you stalking with 'ear defenders' on, particularly with a moderator on the rifle too. I obviously wear mine during range and practice etc but would find them a hindrance when on a stalk, especially 'over-ear' models. Does anyone else wear ear protection whilst stalking?

Great film as usual and a well composed follow up👍. Sorry ,but just not a fan of all this thermal hunting . Seems like the art of spotting the quarry will be lost and gives unfair advantage . As for the follow up an impressive image in poor light, but I expect a good dog would have got there first, my preference all day every day.
