Now this man is a true master, he is without doubt the highest authority in WC left...he not only learned directly from Yip Man but he paid his dues in learning over a long period of time. I say this even though I am not from his lineage. There are too many WC masters that only learned for 2- 3 years then started teaching claiming mastery. This man spent decades learning and spent his lifetime practicing. Truly an inspiration.

That's was really good teaching. "The more relaxed, the more force." Hard to get that across to people that think that power must be "showed off" all the time.

He's incredible in person. He's the frailest-looking dude and he can just throw you around. If he's touching you you will go exactly where he wants to put you no matter what you do to resist.

No wonder Ip Man was claimed to have said in an interview that Chu Song Tin was the student whose skills surpassed his own.

The problem is, a lot of people misunderstand the difference between relaxing and relaxing the way martial arts demands you to relax... people think relaxing is being like a noodle.. when you relax properly and touch s true master that is relaxed it feels like you are touching a piece of iron...

Tsui Sheung tin is the one and only wing chun legendary left behind these days regardless the rest who are called grandmasters. The fact of matter is that there was only one grandmaster Yip Man who passed away in 1972 and "grandmaster" in chinese as "chung-sze" which means the highest rank in certain style or system.

@Scythehalotrial practice, practice, practice. The most important thing is to not stop just because your shoulders are sore. Very important. If your partner refuses to continue, find another!! Also, I have found kundalini yoga very beneficial for increasing shoulder stamina and relaxation abilities, but this is personal for me. In my own experience, I have found the best training occurs when soreness sets in. I finally become relaxed, due to most of my strength having been drained away!

I think his question is rather about how to NOT strain your muscles since it seems to be the core of siu lim tao, relaxing and still applying force to the other person. I also don't understand how to do it haha

Pretty much any Art can use the Mook Jong, Wing Chun / ving Tsun are the most known....though Choy Lay Fut also makes use of the Jong. I have a background in both, But I use it with Kenpo, sometimes shotokan or tae kwon do. The Jong can be built into the practice of which ever style you study, it is not system specific. Blessing, David I've know tai chi stylists and Mauy Thia guys who use the jong.... the options are somewhat limitless.
