Oh, tell me about. I got that so many times. He told me once. Ok, Wissass, do the Project Your way, But I am Checking it Out, When You are Done. I finished, he told all of my coworkers, to come and see my project. He said, It Was Perfect. As, I was doing it, I was still able to talk and joke, with my coworkers. I loved how, I showed him up. Just doing my job and being me.

When your threatened co-workers try to pit everyone against you, especially brand new employees, just stay quiet, do not react to their teasing, just focus hard core on your work. Eventually the tables turn and people who were sucked in get curious and actively seek you out and genuinely try to get to know you.

This is so true. It is sickening how people prey on trying to destroy others character. Going on a character assassination and smear campaign especially when you did nothing to them. Like the saying goes what is done in the dark will sure come to light and hopefully others will see through that sick twisted person's way.

Remember you are just there for one sole purpose and that is to do your job, period. If it's unbearable approach manager but be very cautious with this move also. At the end of the day they're just very petulant and childish and likely covert narcissists and should be treated as such.

Yeah, your boss felt like you were over stepping him and definitely felt threatened by your initiative, which is great. I had the same thing happen when I worked in academics. This individual saw me doing "more" than him and told me to tone things down as not to overshadow his work. So, of course he felt threatened. I was doing a better job than him and people saw it. That threatened his position, so he actively started to politics against me. There's a bad apple in every bunch. I don't work there anymore either. Neither does he. :)

I have a co worker who'd mutter to herself that she thinks I'm stupid. It doesn't really phase me that much because people who do that are really insecure. People who aren't insecure don't try to put other people down. Real adults communicate when they have a problem but children in adult bodies will try to put others down to feel better about themselves. I could even sense negative energy from this person before that happened.

On jobs there are people who will do whatever to destroy someone. Some do that on the basis that they will do whatever to get ahead by any means necessary. Or on the other hand it can go even further than that. There are people who believe that they know who the evil people are. And they also believe with such people there's only one way to handle them.

She simply doesn't have the skillset, and apparently she was under the impression that she was due this job. The behavior of her and the other co-workers is clannish and cliquish. They'll pass by my work station each morning without a greeting, but will greet one another. I'm very good at "handling" her, and I have no interest nor intentions of going out of my way to "fit in" we're WELL PAST THAT! I make my money and I go home. Sadly I find your advice around 03:40 is often unsuccessful because the threatened person(s) tend to associate with each other and the people that "would" speak up are the minions/associates of the attacker so the support does not occur. You keep doing good work (which I highly encourage) and it's ignored or minimized. The situation is worsened when your other co-workers think highly of the threatened person or think lowly of the "threatening" person. Sad state. So many cowards out here.

I started a new job a while back where mistakes could turn into tragedies or serious complaints. One team member persistently ignores me when saying good morning, whilst looking only at those they are saying it to. Otherwise, they seem friendly enough and helpful when they are showing me stuff. On occasion, they do say something or suggest a course of action that I disagree with and on a couple of occasions recently it has turned out that what they told me was wrong. I just thank them now, or partially acknowledge what they said if there is a nugget of some truth in what they say, and then ignore their advice and and do my own thing. I kind of get the impression that they think themselves a bit a cut above me because they hold certain responsibilities other team members at my grade don't hold. I wouldn't say that the team is toxic, but there are some worrying elements there. I find the best thing is to just be friendly, professional and polite and treat everyone equally and not to take any passive aggressive behaviours seriously. I focus on doing my job well. I'm not a serious threat because I am too new and have too much to learn. I guess that helps dampen down any likelihood of anyone being threatened by me as they are much better at the job than I am.

Thank you for this enlightenment. I am currently subbing for a assistant teacher, 4 more weeks to go. I am a retired elementary teacher with 12 years of good schools under my belt. The current lead teacher (in the same class room) doesn't acknowledge my good ideas and responded with "No, I am in charge." She only communicates when she feels happy (personal problems?). She won't let me speak with students about their learning problems and interferes and leads them away. I don't find her kind with the little ones and they seem to be intimidated by her. A few weeks ago she was sick and I taught the class with a new assistant and we had so much fun and no crying kids, no drama. It was the relief I needed. I decided not to confront her for the sake of the kids and because the end is in sight but will address it with the principal when I leave. I know she feels threatened by me as she uses some ideas from me earlier without giving me credit.

I got your point, but I have a situation where I was hired as a head bartender, and bar manager in a restaurant and my job was to create 10 seasonal cocktails, manage the bar, etc. When I started working, I saw the bartender was close to the owners/managers and he decided a lot of things that I was supposed to do, He always complained about my job, tried to make me look bad, He did not want to follow a recipe or follow the steps of service, but he brings coffee to one manager, red bull to another manager. In the end, I lose my job, cause this guy was an ass-kisser and want my position. He Ignore me, Ignore the recipe, the rules, everything, like cmon I'm the owner's friend. and this type of situation makes owners and managers so blind. My question is why people do not see when they are in a manager position, the same things they saw when they were an employee, that there always this guy with no talent for the job but he tries to compensate it flattery

I am working in a team with a colleague in the same committee, each of us have our clear areas of responsibilities, but she oversees the running of the committee. My co-worker tells me to that i need to update her on details concerning my work so that if anyone asks, she will be able to answer. Yet she witheld info necessary for the successful completion of my job scope as she would receive info from various parties routed to her first since she is the overall i/c. She never discuss anything in person with me citing busy schedule but either would text me in tje night or weekends what we need to do when meeting the client the next day, leaving me scrambling to prepare myself.

Why would they? Are they worried that they're never going to get promoted? They'll only feel threatened if you prove you're more talented. A team player would appreciate your help.

Great Video. I think I have a situation like this going on between me and another co-worker. I’ve actually asked him once before, “what can we do to help us both work together?” His response, “It’s all on you there is nothing on my end that I need to change”. How do you respond to that?

Be a team player anyways. But keep very good documentation of what you said and done, with times and dates. To cover your butt.

Not really agreeing with this information. Sometimes they are sleeping with someone to get the promotion and sometimws they are incompetent and moved up bc playing thw workplace games. I am in an offci efull of incompetence that is being promoted

I’m the only female on my shift and I work on machines. Messed up my foot because of work since all the “men” couldn’t help me so I helped myself. Completed my shift, completed my tasks, still helped them and went above what they expected me to do. It’s called integrity
