Signs of life. Comparison of 3 different propagation methods.

Propagation of four different types. Direct soil, pre rooting in water, grafting onto vigorous rootstock, and a bonus if it’s still alive. The old Italian man way. #figtree #gardening #garden #figs #fruittrees #figlife #figplant #figpropagation #grafting #rooting

The figs look great, mate. I live in Pennsylvania zone 6. I also grow in containers. I have 24 varieties of figs, along with a ton of different fruits and vegetables. Living here with the cold winters, I pile all my fig containers up in my shed, and I have a heater that automatically kicks on at 21 degrees. All my figs do amazing like that. It is a pain moving them each year but so worth the effort. I love spending time each day in the summer, just looking at and tending to my plants. Happy growing mate! Thank you for your content.

Nice I’m new to figs I successfully rooted about 50 varieties been transplanting into 5 gallons and 15 gallons and have been going with the single stem approach that Ross talks about and then pinching at the top when they get older i hope i will be satisfied with this method down the line 👍🇺🇸

Hey welcome to the club! You’re doing better than I am friend. I believe there are three schools of thought here. Ross says pinch early. Notorious FIG chops his at 30 after the first year. Then there is the bush. I’m doing all three. The jury is out on what is best in my camp.
