Most challenging: I have moved past the very first stage of attraction and waiting for the reaction. It is clear we are both really into each other. We are coworkers. The next part is challenging: It's now a "hot n cold" game. Pushing forward, pulling backward. Every time I retract, she "lunges" at me. Shethrows every sign in the playbook to get me. The moment I reciprocate, days later, she'll retract and even try to make me jealous by getting on with other guys. I'm quite sick of it tbh. I love her to bits but men are men. When the line is crossed, it is crossed. So please help. I have watched other channels and the consensus seems to be that a hot n cold attraction is toxic and that I must just drop it altogether. She isnt a seductress or player. She is actually very soft-spoken, shy, and a "good girl". If she were a social butterfly, socialite queen, life of the party type, I know for sure I am the one being insecure and possessive and whatever; however, she isnt! I am just really angry with her atm. I'm trying to be professional yet take things a good step forward but she alwayspulls away when things seem really lovely between the both of us. Do you have advice regarding this push-pull, hot n cold stage?

DonR. The same here. You have to be really sure before "flirting" or the cold approach. I've seen many guys get in trouble at former workplaces for that. Very critical when it comes to the workplace.

Girl shows interest when I show no signs of interest, but once I show interest, she loses interest, and it leaves me wondering what happened. However, I've realized that if a girl loses interest as soon I start showing interest, they are not worth my time. Those that stay interested after I show interest, are the ones who are worth trying to get to know.

Sadly, in today's environment we would have probably never dated. Over the years we have worked at the same place several times. The last time was when we both worked at the same hosital (different departments). With today's standards if we'd have shown any affection towards each other we could have been accused of "sexual harassment". It wouldn't need to be one of us accusing the other. A third party could observe an innocent interaction between us and report it as harassment, most likely against the male.

I always end up showing interest and then the girl was never really interested

@VNB Slash Good advice as the co worker I am friendly with and act aloof with sometimes seems to want to chase me more than others because I do not act needy around her. I tend to act too needy around the ones who seem very pretty and it does hurt my chances.

My only concern with flirting with a female coworker is if we end up dating and having a relationship and then it doesn’t work out. That leads to a very awkward situation moving forward

I'm in this mess at the moment... I was with a co-worker for 4 months, and one week onto the other she just ghosted me. She thinks she can just act like she doesn't know me anymore, but she hurt me really a lot and we work right next to each other. Coming week i've planned a meeting with my manager... hopefully the mess calms down without too much fuss. The only solution is to not see her anymore ever. Even at home it hurts me let alone sitting next to her, while she's happy and ultra-social to other colleagues. It's a difficult choice whether to or not date a co-worker. It would be wasteful to let a chance to have a nice woman slide, but the other end is like this.

Biggest challenge getting to know a girl at work for me is finding out how mature she is. Immature women are dangerous especially at work. If I feel she is bad at being objective or debating with her friends and loved ones I back off. I won't consider a female coworker if I feel like she would make the breakup worse than it needs to be if we break up.

There are numerous problems associated with dating a co-worker. One of which is that it makes it harder to open up to them (tell them your secrets), because if the relationship doesn't work out she may tell everyone your private stuff. Which leads you to not felling like you can open yourself up emotionally to them (be vulnerable), which leads to a sub par relationship..... And that's on top of the other things that can happen....

Well, my situation is, She is my supervisor, but we share a lot of chemistry between each other. She flirts at work, but seem to not be able to hang out after work because she is fearing losing her job. 😂

Woohoo...the cutest girl at work does all this stuff!! We always check each other out which makes me feel great because she won't even so much as glance at any other guy. I actually though she was a guy hater until she smiled at me. I think she knows I love her because lots of girls show an interest in me but it's her that I stare at and we both make up excuses to go where the other one is. All I can think about all day long is her and I LOVE it!!

@Coach Melanie Hi i love watching your videos thank you so much for making these videos. It's so hard and frustrating when it comes to knowing if she is into you or not. On top of that I'm a very shy person. One who would not come up to a woman and talk to her if I find her attractive. Let alone ask her out. Your tips make alot of sense and at the same time hard to follow because of the type of work I do. I'm not saying your advice and tips are wrong. I work at a fast food restaurant. I'm a cook she's a cashier. The way our restaurant is set it's harder to be close to one another to see the signs your talking about. Also we would be the only two working. We never have more then two people working per shift. Also she had kids already nothing wrong with that. If anything it's something attractive to me in a way. I'm also a parent but they don't like with me. She was married for over 10 years single for 2 now. She claimed to be very shy person and did seem like it. She never got into it deep about her personal life. Just small things here and there. She had her guard up but I notice her flirting here and there many times and it caught my attention because she was just her. She would come to work in sweats and no make up. To me she was beautiful didn't need the make up or fancy clothes. Long story short I told her I liked her for Valentines I got her a gift and flowers. She said thank you said she liked them but no emotions. She had said way before she didn't show emotions. She still seemed hurt from her previous relationship. How can you tell if she likes you when she has all that going on? One thing I knew for sure from the start is that I would ne or be her number one because she has kids. I had that problem with an ex where she would fight over that spot with my Son. She couldn't accept I had a son. I have such bad luck when it come to love. This new girl knows I like her I asked her if I could have the opportunity to get to know her more a d see where things go and she said not at the moment that she was scared. Weeks past I was going to move back home she found out from her sister and told me why was I moving back? Then said "my sister is going to miss you." Like why the sister and not her. So I asked her "Your sister or you?" She claimed I didn't understand or wouldn't understand. That's when I told her why she keeps playing those games of she cares and likes my why not just say so. Or if she doesn't then to just be honest as well. I don't know if it slipped out but she told me. She loved being around me. Not like but love being around me. Then she texted me later that she is scared to fall in love. Was she just seeking attention or does she feel something. Her sister won't help much they are not close to one another. They no longer talk to one another. So getting any advice from her is pointless right now. Sorry for the book I wrote and hope I hear back from you.

We do talk on occasion. We normally hug each other, and we have hugged for longer than usual. There were two occasions when we finished hugging, as we pulled away, her hand drifted down my arm until our hands connected, and then we held hands for a little bit while also looking at each other. I know that I have had different thoughts about it, but I wanted to ask you what your thoughts are about this. Thanks!

Our office environment. I work on the 2nd floor in IT located in a small room with 3 other people. Her, she is in customer services on the 1st floor. Here's my observations of the questions this video focused on. 1. asks other coworkers about me - not that I know of 2. Suggest doing things after work - Nope. 3. Compliments me. Only once after I got a haircut; but she did like my real snake skin boots I wore one day. 4. Sits by me as much as possible. No, not yet. We have not had any meetings due to the pandemic. 5. She tries to be where ever I am. Yes. She will walk in to the area where there's a printer, inter office mail on the 2nd floor where I am. She does this a few times a day. Only to stop outside of the door where I am and smiles and waves (I assume she is, she is wearing a mask), and only acknowledges me by saying "Hi Mr. Glen". She does not say anything else to the other 3 people in my area. And, if she is working in the customer customer drive thru window in the morning, she will wave and smiles and says good morning to me through the speaker. I have caught her looking at me, just about every time she sees me. And, if I happen to see her, she will wave and 'gaze' and I smile widely and wave back. We have done some minor chit chat for now. SO, at this time I am speculating but not convinced. I think she just might be a friendly person. But the 'smiles a lot' (my secret nick name for her) SEEMS to be only directed towards me. I do not notice how she looks at other male coworkers. And since I don't work in her department, I don't know. At this time I am being friendly towards her with a tiny amount of flirtation. Not enough to be obvious to everyone. Not sure if she picks up on my flirts or not. What's your thoughts coach Melannie?

Coach the hardest because it's happening with me. She never answers my question if she's married divorced separated etc. I know she has a daughter but my question to this day remains unanswered.

It's difficult when you work with more than 15 women around that looks like Hyena's looking for a pray!!! Run for your Life!!! It happens always.

Hey coach, I recently saw a new female co worker at my job. She's very attractive to me, and I've noticed, when she walks by, at a distance, she glances at me then looks away. I look at her, and she catches me as well.Recently another female co worker was talking to me, and the new co worker joined the conversation. For most of the conversation, the new coworker was looking at me, and we had a brief conversation and I made her smile. I wonder could it be sparks? I'm not sure, but she always looks in my direction when she passes. Even at a distance.

Gotta be REAL careful here....I was really fond of a co-worker, and some of what you are talking about seem to be pretty obvious...problem is, if things go sour, there could be BIG trouble....the work situation could be a problem...best way to go is to tread VERY softly and explore. This one that I work with....we seemed to get along very well, but, something went sour....I truly have no idea what went wrong....it was very weird.

You need to be careful with female managers as this can get you in trouble but a few of the pretty ones have flirted and there has been chemistry coming through from both ways but I keep it professional and smile but they always give me great reviews and time off when I ever I want to . But I keep it professional as I do not want to ruin things at work.

I really need some help here- I have a new female coworker. There are 8 of us in total. When we are all in the office, we generally talk and banter as a whole. But whenever the spotlight is on me, she totally ignores me (by turning her chair away or facing the opposite direction). She totally flirts and laughs with another male coworker, but everyone knows he’s married and has a child. It’s a bit unsettling. A small but significant detail: She did me a favor once, and I asked if I could return the favor by buying her a coffee. Instead of a coffee, she suggested we go eat out. We ended up spending half a day together, just the two of us. She seemed to enjoy every bit of it. Ultimately, her “work” self is the polar opposite of her “with me” self. Totally cold and distant at work, but very warm, friendly, even a little physical outside of work. What the hell is she trying to do?

Good video. From my experience with coworkers there are 2 major things. 1. Talk about and agree to make every effort necessary to not let your relationship mess up your working Life. If you meet the wrong person, whether the relationship works or not, it can make regular work and your reputation a nightmare until you just leave. 2. Don't be gossipy about your relationship. Your entire place of work and everyone in the place don't need to know every aspect of you or your partners Life and romance. Failing to address previous 2 things is a certain recipe for disaster... I learned to 1. Stay away from gossipy people that are surrounded by nosy coworkers. Basically you're asking for entire workplace to know your entire Life and business. 2. Don't hookup with anyone that's stupid enough to make their working life and love Life a disaster from having a relationship with a coworker..

I have a coworker that seems to give me the googly eyes when I see her and she tease me about not coming to talk to her /co workers because because I got a new job now and I've forgotten about her/my old workers I worked with...think I will make a move this week

I work at a theme park and had a couple ladies at work taking a liking to me. The first was a performer at the show in the area I work in (its a German dining hall with a stage and the theme park is European themed), she was a violin player with red hair and a great smile but nothing came to fruition. That was in 2019. The second woman has started to pay attention to me in the recent weeks (after the mass exodus in the park staff and everyone was being shuffled around the park) when she's working on the floor and usually she cleans the outdoor area. I might offer her more attention after we cross paths again.

One thing (not the only) that is a problem with dating a co-worker is that things might go wrong. Then you are forced to work with a eX. She my gossip horrible stuff about you and/or make your break room visit horrible.

That is certainly a risk! If she is mature and has a healthy mindset she won't do these things though. Yes, it may be awkward for a while but she wouldn't gossip about you. My female friend's close work is a close friend of mine. she sees me as just a friend but she asked me questions about me getting married and if I still wanted kids. Also, she sits near me on break sometimes and asking me about movies with me and more sometimes. She asks me for help sometimes at work. So Melannie, the most difficult thing I find about flirting or dating in the workplace is the inevitable event that people are always around. I totally get this. I have a huge crush on a guy at work. It's in a supermarket deli and people are always around. I want to tell him how I feel, but confessing in a deli is not very romantic. Plus, someone is always around with listening ears. People already suspect we like each other. It shows.

For me, I find that I never get the girl I want. ALL my crushes are always one sided. Just accept whatever girl comes out of the woodwork and has good chemistry with you. Don't go chasing the P either. Chase money/success and the P will come to you. Lastly, don't put all your eggs in one basket because you'll be disappointed 95% of the time.

Ive had a previous not great experience with someone at the work place, but its difficult because it feels like the only place I can meet people. I put it in my mind that I’m protecting myself by not getting involved with another colleague

I am not a therapist or councilor. What I think you need to know though is that a relationship that starts with one or two people cheating is not ever going to end well. If you are willing to cheat on your current spouses you will be fine cheating on later spouses. If you are not willing to invest in your current marriage you owe it to her to be honest and let her free so she can find someone who will love her. I would highly discourage you from sharing your feelings with your coworker as that would in fact be cheating for both of you. Best of luck.

I got a lot of positive signs when I worked around nurses to date one. However, I was in a relationship and could not do so. One lady asked me to get rid of my girlfriend and date her instead.
