@@spottedfawn639 yes! One of the best fragrance ads IMO.Lolita Lempicka is a special fragrance- Guerlain's La petite Robe Noire is similar but I still prefer the Violet note from LL than the rose note from LPRN which is the main difference I notice between them

I think the combination of the time period and the beautiful ad creates a limbic system response. We all know how that is 💖

I have a few. The common theme is chypre with oakmoss. Ma Griffe. Caleche. Mitsouko. The original YSL Y for women. But Je Reviens is another ride or die. I worked with a nurse who always wore a tiny drop of Opium. It was just enough to be terrific but certainly not overbearing or overwhelming. No patient ever complained. Rive Gauche is gorgeous but I always preferred its cousin, Calandre. It’s the scent of a KGB agent.

Hi Gabby, some beauties in there !. Today im going to wear Clinique Aromatics, which was my mums signature. Im convinced it was made for her . She wore it everywhere all year round. If you havent tried Liz Claibourne, the one on the triangle shaped bottle, you need to consider it! Its not at all expensive, very 80's and just so stunning. It arrived yesterday and my first thought was 'what in the voodoo witchcraftery'?? I could not stop smelling my wrist ! Yes to the papillons and Franchesca Bianchi's. ! Also Rive Gauche is gorgeous. Always timelessly so ! ❤❤

I once followed a woman in the post office to ask her what her fragrance was. It was Aromatics Elixir. Truly the most beautiful scent ever on her. On the other hand, my sister-in-law wears it and it smells like a musty basement on her. It's quite possible her bottle has gone off an she can't tell.

Loved the content and affirming talk on loving what you love and wearing it anyway. OG Opium was apparently one of the inspirations behind one of my fave 90s powerhouse perfume, Coco by Chanel. It’s dark, spicy, but also has a peach and plum note along with florals. Whoo! Reconciling with the past is heavy work. You have my respect and I always wish you good health and happiness, Gabbi. Dear Gabi I absolutely adore your videos❤ You are such good fun! Your taste in perfumes is impeccable too. I've found myself wearing Rive Gauche alot lately. I have wonderful scent memories attached to it. Being a child of the '70s, someone's Mum or Aunty was usually wearing this gorgeous scent. I envision myself walking the streets of Paris, maybe stopping at a café, sitting myself down to sip some vin rouge and watch all the beautiful people pass by, wishing I was 21 again!! I find perfumes are wonderful friends who never cease to comfort me😊 Off for a walk in a bluebell wood in Ireland now. The aromas there are magical. Have a fabulous day❤

Gabi Im somewhat in awe that you mentioned my little comment! Yes, i love watching your videos, although my only reference points to the perfume world are the two scents my mother wore,Chanel No. 5, and CK one of course, after all it was the 90s... I'm sampling around at the moment, so to say, but my poor nose is simply not used to it. As of yet the only scent that stuck with me was actually Death and decay by lush. So maybe i will buy it, though i was hoping for a smaller package to begin with, but here we go i guess... Anyway, your personality and imagination open up a whole new world to me, thank you so much!

LOVE- honestly, Elizabeth Taylor’s Diamonds line is just so good. White Diamonds Night has a powdery apricot that is so addictive, I agree WD Emeralds is a beautiful white flower gem, WD En Rouge is a raspberry, suede, oud combo that is elegant and unique. The OG White Diamonds is a glorious version of Ropione’s Ysatis - always beautiful and so lasting❤.

What a wonderful selection Gabby! And I love your descriptions too! I'm also a Gen-Xer (mid 70s) and some of these scents were part of my everyday life (mother, aunts, teachers etc). Since I'm a vintage perfume collector (who wears them often) I'm used to both very weird (not so polite) and very flattering comments on my scents. I have no regrets for wearing any of them because this is me. I have some signatures and they are all old formulations. Chanel Cristalle EdT and Guerlain Shalimar EdP are my summer and winter signatures respectively and along with them most people associate me with leather, bold chypre and animalic oldies like Molinard Habanita, Guerlain Mitsouko and Paco Rabanne La Nuit. Now that I'm thinking of your choices, I have to test Salome. It sounds very appealing to me.

Lovely video! That Opium orange bottle is gorgeous! It immediately evoques spices. My signature scen 21:03 ts are L'Eau d'Issey EDT and Elizabeth Arden, Arden Beauty. However, I do wear a lot of other perfumes. It's really hard to have only one signature scent, isn't It? :) I think Coco by Chanel is a good contender for a signature scent.

If I could get another bottle of Angel le gout de parfum by Thierry Mugler, that would be my signature scent , I do wear it, but I’m afraid to use up the bottle. I love cheapies! Diamonds and Emeralds is stunning. Why aren’t more people talking about it? It costs £10 but smells sooo luxurious. I actually find it similar to the new J’Adore L’Or. I think that Elizabeth Taylor fragrances are massively underrated. The quality you get for your money is unparalleled in the perfume world in my humble opinion.

Hi, very interesting selection! I would need to be in a wild mood to be able to wear some of those 😀 I was born in the 80s so I remember being a child and smelling dressed up women to Opium and Rive Gauche, so I always associate these perfumes to very elegant grown up women, although I do not like them for me, I still appreciate them and appreciate people with strong personalities who can wear such bombs without caring about what others may think. I had a sample of Salome and wow I was followed by dogs along the street, animalic indeed. But after one hour or so I could smell a beautiful blend of flowers, but for me the first hour is unbearable. I really like Papillon and F.Bianchi perfumes in general.
