Reminds me of that one smut comic where the girl has one of the most awful lives possible. The Fandom then preceeded to turn incredibly wholesome and write fanfics about her being saved or living a good life. Perhaps this is a really strange pattern? One was Josuke from JoJo's healing her.

My favorite part about this game is that it specifically hints that equipping heal items lets them automatically be used when near-death, which is nice for learning boss attacks and all that or running around ammo-less, but if you actually *do* that, the game calls you a big fat cheater at the stats screen. 🍷🗿

iirc the 'death cheated' counter is actually about using the push to interrupt enemy attacks just before they hit you, but I'm not 100% certain

@Oldage429 in the game. if you reach the lowest health value, Critical, and avoid getting hit for long enough, it bumps you back up to Danger. Surviving on Critical, either through Natural Regeneration or Autoinjektors is what "Deaths Cheated" means, and if you do this at least 8 times, the game adds one point to the Promise ending, meaning you're more likely to get that ending specifically. Given that the Promise ending is arguably the best ending, not counting the secret Artifact ending, cheating death is actually a good thing.

Signalis is honestly the best silent Hill game we are ever going to get in this timeline.😺

Do you remember the Promise we made? Nothing like the instructions the empire left for you after a certain amount of time in that ship left me with greater rage, truly fantastic placement of lines to tell you how that gameworld was built.

I wasn't expecting the new editing style, so it threw me a little, but it's really fun! They did a great job

Signalis comes from the Evangelion school of storytelling- plenty of lore, but it's really hard to tell what's actually going on.

Is it survival horror if the protagonist is a robot???? Yes it is. And boy does stabbing that $#&@# at the end feels so good.

Literally found out about this game recently, how did i miss a masterpiece like this is beyond me. Cigarette Wife is already one of my new fav video game tracks.

Last year, I played Signalis for about 3ish hours and enjoyed it, but unfortunately, I did not have a lot of time to sit down and play any games the end of 2022. A year later, I decided since it was Oct 2023 to play a spooky/horror kind of game and Signalis was at the top of the list. The 1.2 update with the increased inventory size to 8 and the flashlight not taking up an inventory slot was such a breath of fresh air because honestly that was my one critique about the game. There's so many key items that backtracking was constant, I'd pick up an item and immediately keep going back and forth to the save room to deposit items and felt it broke up the flow in an unnecessary manner. I finished Signalis about 2wks ago and I can say that this game went immediately to my top 10 list of all-time.

YES. This game needs all the attention in the world, thank you Scott. The 3rd Person POV is from a mod for anyone's information, one that the devs may potentially add in the future.

I was not expecting Max0r-esque editing here, but not bad! Loved Signalis, just finished it last night. Gotta say, this Side of Salt lacked the salt, and I'm not complaining. Seeing you just enjoy stuff is awesome.

This game was quite fun. The story stuck with me for quite a while after I played :)

the game so good, that it has placed a new wonder-of-the-world upon our generations in how the hell this story ACTUALLY plays out, what things mean, and generally WTF is going on. Like how you never actually play as ELTR-512.. the ENTIRE game.

It's pretty good. Resident Evil and Silent Hill inspired indeed. I've even been working on a game with a similiar style. I just need to work on my animation, computer and programming skills.

I finished this game recently. And I've seen many people talk about this game more and more. And this game Took my heart at Ransom, gave it back brutally damaged. And only memes and wholesome animations to fill in the massive Hole the game gave me.

Inventory slots are not for "accessibility". They are for difficulty.

It really does feel like something Nihei Tsutomu would make. The atmosphere fits so well with his style that you'd think he had some input in it's development.

This game really is a hidden gem, its one of my favourites now and i dont think ill ever forget it

Signalis is easily one of my favorite game experiences that I've had this year, and given it's only $20 (on sale right now) it's easily worth it. The story, setting and universe are also fantastic. Super engaging to theory craft about.

Good video! The editing is really good and I really like some of the transitions. I am a bit confused on how much of footage from the game is in third person though. Unless there was an option added for it recently, its gonna feel pretty misleading for non modders and console players.

The video felt hard to follow with everything flashing and appearing/disappearing so fast you can't compute what it was

The thing _Signalis_ excells at probably above anything else is the lore. Read everything you can about the lore and play the game mutliple times if you want to get the most out of it. You're not really supposed to figure out what's happening, but it's really fun to try.

the thermite is more like the matches mechanic from The Evil WIthin.

This really reminds me of Project Zomboid. It’s top-down perspective, the combat, the fact you have to stomp the enemies head in… Ok on second thought I will try this game when my PC is fixed.

One really important tip to remember is that you can use thermite flares on enemies the same way you would a stun prod: let's you take them down _and_ burn them in one attack for maximum efficency -- pretty much lets you one-shot the first boss.
