Games like Signalis truly suck. Not because they are bad games, but because they stick with you way too long, and that it makes me sad every time I think of the story. Yuri and Barbara made something truly special.

They suck for anyone willing to do literary analysis on them, not because they're shallow or uninspired, but because they're purposefully crafted in a way that loops you around and leads you down extensive paths of references and callbacks, so that anyone trying to dissect the game ends up where they started without having grasped the extent of the game. The game is as simple/complex as you make it, you can take everything at surface level or you can reach a deep layer of philosophy by looking into it; the two interpretations are still equivalent.

@@Kenshikensignalis is very simple too when you don't try to get in the meat of it. It's pretty much equivalent to the stories of SH1/2. All of these games, however, have incredible depths and sybolism which aren't apparent on the surface level. I recommend you look into literary analysis of the silent hill games, though they don't have the "King in Yellow" effect that Signalid has on its players, they still explore much of the same themes.

This game is just pure perfection. A project oozing with passion, effort and care, which doesn't happen often (I would even say it never happens) with new games. I just love this game from the first day I've seen the Pyrocynical stream (I didn't watch it completely to avoid spoilers). I wish the game was longer, because I would like to enjoy more time with it. It's a perfect masterpiece and I'm proud of people in rose-engine and also happy that this game exists in the first place. Thank you for this experience. This experience will probably never get beaten by any other game, because this is a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you.

This music makes me so, so deeply sad, more than any other piece of music from the soundtrack, and I am still struggling to understand why. I know that it's more than the simple answer of "the end of the saddest game I ever played," yet I can't place exactly what that is.

This track is a perfect representation of the idea behind the title, eternal return. To me this sounds like sitting in some sort of afterlife, pondering your life, all the good and the bad, and realizing you're going to have to do it all over again. Forever and ever. It feels tired and apprehensive and sad, but resigned to its fate.

Even though I felt huge emotional connection with the game upon finishing it I had not fully realized the weight of the tragedy of this story. And during that day and night I was thinking about all what happened again and again, even had vague dreamings about something concerning Signalis while sleeping. The next day after waking up I stumbled upon a video compiled from all melancholic/ambient tracks from the game, and exactly this is the track which broke me to tears just fucking completely right when the piano started. I feel like it represents the tragedy of coming to terms with the fact that nothing can be done, the hope is gone and you are being stuck in gazing at the future which will never happen. And while having incredible empathy for the main characters, this very thought tears the heart to shreds with its cold cosmic indifference to such warm things as truest deep love and hope. And every time I think about it I start crying. This game stayed within me.
