Thanks! The best explanation of all of the menu applications that I have found. The scope comes with very little help in the user guide.

I put a small scratch to align my best focus for both ends. It can vary slightly but it’s a starting point. You will find that focus is in a small parameter in all these brands of scopes even the Thermals. A matter of slight move either way.

Scope came in yesterday, as advertised. Scope is mounted looks great.

Greg, I'm also new to night vision and did some extensive research. After settling on digital and the Sightmark Photon RT, I too called Outdoor Legacy for some answers prior to my purchase, and low and behold, Jason answered the phone. I new right away from listening to him on the Late Night Vision Show. He was so personable, knowledgeable, and honest. We had a great conversation about the Wraith, (which btw I called sometime just after Shot Show). Jason had just previewed it there but had not had a chance to review it. I went ahead and purchased the Photon, waiting for reviews from him on the Wraith. Sounds like its a winner as well, so I just pre-ordered. Thanks for your video review.

How's the Photon coming along Daniel?

From what I seen on reviews it is equal to ATN 4K but without all the bugs and freezing up.Some sights are including rechargable lithium batteries and charger included for same price so shop around.

Bowfishing Falcon Yea I have seen their kit. I have heard Sight Mark is supposed to be bringing out a 4K model after the first of the year. I’m hoping it has sound so I’m kind of waiting to see.

That seems to be one of the best options. I find it very easy to manipulate the IR and manage the scope functions with the IR mounted on top. I need to see if I can get used to it if moved to the front of the rifle. See my video with my first coyote kill. Muzzle blast , smoke and IR light caused a momentary whiteout, very noticeable in the video. I think if I move the IR it may not as much of an issue.

You can get the QD mounts off of Amazon for $49 now.

that was very interesting ty. showed me alot of things that the shop didnt inform me of, when you said about the torch on top ,i thought you forgot to take lens cap off lol, all so you wouldnt know were i can bye a powerpack for the sight mark wriath. cheers from england .

Thanks for watching. Virtually any "USB" type of battery pack can be used tp power the scope. I've used everything from small "credit card" size batteries, to USB phone chargers, they all work. The bigger trick is trying to figure out where to mount the battery and managing the USB cable.

I would try mounting the IR underneath the barrel and that might take away the white out after the shot and also you use that hand to aim the IR

Yep, I was thinking the same. Right now I'm playing with a thermal scope, (I've posted a couple of videos) I'll try changing the location of IR when I get back to the Wraith.

I have my IR light mounted to the right side of barrel with a tail switch on top (upgraded to better IR light). I had the same issue with white out with oem light mounted to the Wraith HD. Also battery life was an issue on long hunts, so on my Wraith pic rail, I mounted a backup battery that lasts days. Found a guy online who 3D prints a sleeve that mounts right up. Use a 4” usb cable. Works great. Adds a little weight but I’m mounted on a tripod so no big deal.

I mounted my light on the rail just behind the muzzle, I hope it will cut down on the whiteout issue.

Your going to find out your going to be moving the ir light in front of the scope and underneath the barrel . The smoke from the gun will cause you to lose sight of the target for a few seconds if its above the barrel but when its below it won't .

Yep, you are so right on that. If you look at my "first Coyote" video, I experienced that exact problem. I have changed to an aftermarket IR and it is mounted under the barrel. I have been playing more with thermal scopes lately, but I still like hunting with the Wraith. I should collect some hunting footage and do an update on my night vision setup. I am using the new 2x version of the Wraith, and I do have a video on that one.

Just checking, you do know you can focus the IR light right? You turn the end of the light just like the focus on your scope to adjust the beam from narrow to wide. I had the same whiteout that you were talking about and I started to adjust the IR light and the focus on the scope and everything became really clear and then I locked the light down.

I am aware of that, see my other videos were I discuss that in more detail. You do bring up a great point that may help with another issue that I'm having. In my "First coyote kill" video, I noticed a whiteout from the muzzle blast. I'm assuming that the combination of blast, smoke and IR caused that. I'm going to try and tighten the IR beam and see if that helps any. Thanks for watching and thanks for your input.

I have the wrath ...I kind of like it but it's way way too heavy and sucks that the illuminator shows where you are every time you use it ..I'm probably selling mine for a real night vison

Can you use a power bank into the USB on the wraith instead of the batteries to power your scope

Yes, absolutely. There is a USB port on the scope and you can use and external battery to power it. I do this all of the time to make sure that I do not run out of power.

@@GMAN72263 I,ve started to use my power bank to keep full power in my Wraith,i have used it 4 nights running,roughly 4 hours a night and still loads of power left in the power bank,so happy days.

Hi Greg, thanks great video.I ordered the Wraith 2x18 on my crossbow , the Wrath arrives tomorrow. Any suggestions ??, I ordered all the long life batterie accessories. We hunt hogs in texas where they are a bit light shy , i wonder if at 10 to 20 yards if the scope IR will be seen. Would of loved a thermal but the $$ not there for it. Thanks Dave

Hi Dave, That scope is a great option for hog hunting at closer ranges. The field of view on the Wraith 4x is very narrow for hunting closer than 100 yards. Take a look at my Coyote video, you can see where I was having some difficulty “finding” the coyote in the scope. I now using the Wraith 2x, and the wider field of view is working out much better for my hunting situations. I’m also hunting hogs in Texas, mostly in very dense cover, and well under 75 yards. I just shot a pig a few weeks ago, she was 20 yards and looking directly at me. She never reacted to the IR illuminator, so I don’t think you will have any issues with that. I am using a Sniper Hog Lights 50LRX illuminator. The original IR works fine, but I did not like the “clicking” noise when turning on and adjusting from low, medium and high. The 50LRX as almost the same size as the original, it’s super bright even on low, and the dimmer switch is completely silent. I really think that scope is going to be perfect for you. I have been dreaming of night vision. I would of bought a thermal but this year's $ is more towards the price of the Wrath. Your Info is great news, our first week is under a rising to a full moon, lots of moonlight, I'm thinking the night vision will be bright, the second week should be mighty dark, our hunts went from daytime shooting to most of the action happening after dark, Hogs got educated, I get daytime shots from my stands I work on n the woods.The feeder hogs are a bit more educated. This is a Deer and duck ranch with a hog problem. Not too far from Palestine Texas. Thanks again we start Jan 25. I live way north, in a fishing town called Montauk LI NY. Dave

Greg, So i have the 2x Wraith , easy set up, seems the illuminator is not putting out light power low glow in the base of the bulb?? I checked batteries on a tester. Used another set. Going to sight in today daytime. Then try and figure out the illuminator issue.TKS Dave

@@Killemgrillem00 Dave, the illuminator emits IR only, not visible light. Turn on the scope, and set it to "night" mode, click left arrow button, you should see crescent moon on bottom right of screen. Make sure that batteries are good on illuminator and go into a dark room. while looking through scope, turn on IR, you will not see anything, but through the scope, you will see the room light up. Also, remember to turn off IR before you turn off the scope, otherwise you may not know if IR is on or off and you will burn through your batteries. Let me know if that works for you.

@@GMAN72263 Ohhhhhh man thank you. Im zeroed in,didn't even look for the night mode, silly me, tho I have watched you guys, I may have missed that.My scope came with a quick start manual only. So I'm zeroed in , seems my ^ aim point has moved to the top 1/3 of the screen and a bit left. Shooting well..Greg, just went down my basement. Yes its fine, i came up giggling,, Very happy , now to center my ^ .. Thank you again my friend.

Greg,with the ir light that sightmark provide with the Wraith,i know it takes 2 cr123a batteries,do you think it would take one 18650 battery instead of the two small ones.

I have heard of people using the 18650 and 16650 batteries as replacements for 2 of the CR123A batteries in some electronics. I have not tried either, so no idea if either option works in the Wraith's IR Illuminator. It seems like this would be a great option if it works. Maybe someone who knows for sure will see this question and respond. please let me know if you find out.

@@GMAN72263 No Greg,the 18650 batteries wont work with the ir light,first they wont fit in as the tube on the ir light as the batteries are too thick, can i ask,what format do the videos play from the Wraith to your pc,i am having minor problems playing videos i recorded when out shooting,they play good and then they stop,tells me it cant play as its either wrong format or files are damaged,it plays on avi format,would this be the correct format to play videos,...Thanks in advance.

How do you get the scope to go al the way zoomed out to 1x can’t figure it out

When the scope shows 1X, it's actually at native zoom, which is really 4 power. So 2x was actually 8 power. When I updated the software, it now shows the actual magnification, so lowest setting now says 4x on the screen.

What rating would you give this sightmark scope in terms of seeing at night?I just ordered mine off amazon

When I made this video, I was new to night vision products and just learning. I now have several night vision devices as well as a thermal scope. I will say that the Wraith is the best night vision device that I use, the thermal products are an amazing leap in technology over the digital night vision. That being said, I still use the Wraith, and I am going to order the new 2X magnification version of this scope as well. This one, the 4X base magnification is great for longer distances, but I find the field of view to be narrow for the hunting that I'm doing (mostly less that 100 yards and heavy cover) The 2X will be much better for me. I have several videos with hunting footage, check those out to see how it looks through the scope. Keep in mind the video is not as good as what you see in the view finder. Also, as you learn to use the IR illuminator and scope adjustments, it will get even better. Thank you for watching and thanks for your comment.

Yes, the mount that is included works on the pic rail. The one that I'm using is basically the same, just has the QD throw levers.

I pre-ordered this before they were even available, so I think it was a few months. I've ordered several things from Outdoor Legacy Gear, and if the item is in stock, they ship out very quickly. I'm in Texas, so shipping only takes a day or two. I don't remember if there was a shipping charge, is so, it was minimal.

I did not find anything, but I would suggest that you give them a call. It seems that demand for night vision and thermal products are very high, and everything is on back order. I'm planning to place an order for another Thermal scope today, and I already know that I will be on a waiting list. Are you willing to measure and post the interior dimensions of the box?

The interior of this box measures about 13" x8.75" x 4". I will also say that I more recently purchased a Wraith 2x and the box is different. The new box looks like it is designed for both models, so the Wraith 4x may now be shipping in the newer box. Interior of that box is about 19" x 5.5" x 4".

Can someone just show what parts to use on mounting. A lot of scopes don’t come with the hardware to mount the scope.

Mark, this scope does come with the mount included. You can see it when I take the scope out of the box. It's the flat plat mounted on the bottom of the scope. This mount is designed to go on a standard picatinny rail on the rifle. later in the video you can see that I changed the mount to the QD version. The QD just has levers to allow quick removal. I can send you pictures if you would like, just let me know.

It was about $60. I go the scope and mount from Outdoor Legacy Gear. outdoorlegacygear.com . it looks like they have the scope and QD in stock right now. If you don't already have a dealer to work with, call Jason at outdoor legacy, he will take care of you.
