i recall all the surrountings surrounded by thick woods ...ancient woods..dont know the english word , but pre history forrests ..all dissapeared in the paper industry becouse of the EU ...the criminals cut the woods of romania .,..and to the stupid public they claim to be environment friendly green etc etc ....
I visited this place last November, I travelled with train as well (from Brasov). It was so pretty there!!! Beautiful views. Probably the prettiest place I visited during my stay in Romania. Cheers from Sweden! Also saw you were using canadian dollars as reference! I'll be studying in Quebec soon! Looking forward to that a lot! Hope you enjoy your stay in Romania

Glad you liked it! Romania is a pretty cool spot
The line from Brasov to Sighisoara is under massive reconstruction at the moment. They're digging about 21 km of tunnels, building viaducts, and the new line will be much faster than the old one. This is also true for many train lines, they're undergoing various repairs, which currently makes the trains be less than optimal for a few years until all that is completed. You sort of need to know which lines are worthwhile and which aren't - generally Bucharest-Constanta is good, Bucharest-Brasov is fine, Bucharest-Suceava (almost anywhere in Moldova is along that line) is mostly ok'ish, the rest you're better off going by bus.
