Sig Sauer Romeo 4T - American Made Series
Here's a question:
If you wanted to purchase a wholly American manufactured RDS, what are your options?
We plan to address this question in an ongoing series here on InRange, this with this video being about the Sig Sauer Romeo 4T.

The US has allowed so many components slip over seas that there are some things like LEDs where there are NO, zero (0), fabs for them in the US. Screws, the base for circuit boards, a lot of that is imported. So if you want 100% american made, every last gram, give it up. Oh, wait. Just want to say I just got a 4T not long ago and my MOTAC works beautifully. It is very sensitive (which imo is a good thing) but after leaving it propped up on my rifle and carefully looking through it without shaking anything at all it was off. Barely touching the grip and it turned on. Never had it turn off when I didn’t want it to. I’m honestly very impressed with it except for 2 things. The mount is ugly AF (personal preference and will be replaced with an ADM) and the finish. It’s just a bit too shiny and makes it look cheap. Still very happy with it.
Will you be doing videos on Vortex or EOTech Holographic sights in your American made series? I know the EOtechs aren’t strictly RDSs, but considering their fame (or infamy for some) I’d think it wise to explore more options.
Thank you for another interesting review. Looking at Sig’s website it appears the major difference between the “t” and “h” series is IPX8 versus IPX7 waterproof/water resistance ratings. In your opinion, is the sufficient difference between these two models for a “non-professional” 2-gun competitor to warrant choosing the t-series over the h-series and the increased cost?

Both the Aimpoint T2 and the Sig Sauer Romeo 4t are on the approved list for the FBI so you can't really go wrong with either. @@mrfrosty3 Anyone doing *any* assembly in the US for something smaller than a refrigerator is doing it solely so they can claim "Assembled in the USA", in the (correct) hopes that most people will misinterpret that as "US Made". We just don't make tiny stuff in the US any more, and haven't for at least 20 years. *ALL* of it comes from overseas, mostly from the orient, and these days, most of that is from China. This really isn't all China's fault, though it is popular to bash them for that these days. We moved production, and then design, of most everything to first Japan, then Taiwan, then Hong Kong, then Korea, and now finally to China Mainland as production ramped up there when they finally joined the 20th Century after Chairman Mao had keep them in the 18th Century for 40 years. 40 and 20 years ago they really needed our money to bring their internal economy into the 20th century. For the last 10 years they have been doing quite well, and increasingly their production of high-quality parts are for internal consumption only. Fortunately we are willing to buy third-class junk, and they can afford to turn that out in large quantities for export without affecting domestic production, and it still brings income that they can use. We need to start designing and building things in the US again, but that is extremely difficult with an educational system that no longer teaches the necessary engineering, and a political system that strongly discourages any form of production. We are a "post industrial society" to quote the Social Studies types at universities, and they consider that to be a proud claim. When your educational system is proud that you can't make anything, you have big problems.

There the machines are used to make the parts and the kits are send on to final assembly, if the seller does not want it to read "Made in China". Some parts like lenses might not be from China if they are to be highest quality though, they are added to the kits. So whats done in the country of assembly: The workers sort through the part kits and assemble the parts that look the best and throw out the other parts. That is how for example electric scooters are made in Europe. But fear not: The wage gap is closing and some day it will no longer be profitable to ship machines around the world, set them up, get back parts, throw 15% of them away and assemble the rest to save a dime. This already happened between Germany and Poland. I worked as a sales manager in the metal industry and Poland always was cheaper with their offers. Until one day we started to win more and more contracts. Why: The wages in Poland were not low enough any more to compensate for the transport costs from their factories to our customers. Same thing will happen between the US and China too some day and production jobs will come back.
I bet the shooter in this video is more us to large lindes than little lindes!!!!! Sorry I can't spell to save my life. And I missed the shooter's name!!
Shits are made by holosun. Both products manuals use similar verbiage and ship with same adjustment tools.

4T is specificially manufactured in the US. It's one of two red dot sights approved for duty use by the FBI (other being Aimpoint T2) and is used by CAG (Delta Force), NSW (SEAL), and British SAS.

They send in parts from China, and Sig puts the parts together, which makes it "Assembled in the USA"
Too sensitive to auto-shutoff even in a fishtank for half an hour. I would just go with its always on unless you turn it off and thats not even a real problem

To be fair, we couldn't see whether it was on or not until Russell picked it back up.
These are for sure not American made

This makes the aimpoint t2 look like an overpriced pos.
Seems the auto-off function doesn’t work correctly on these. Especially after being left in the fish tank for 30 minutes, it should have turned off. Even if it is “sensitive” like Sig claims, that renders the function basically useless or non-existent. If it is so sensitive that it never turns off, then it might as well not even be there. I’ve had problems with Sig optics before and I don’t trust them, no matter what “tier” it is. I think anything they’re charging more than $150 for is an absolute scam. I don’t trust these optics, I don’t like them, I don’t like Sig, and I think their stupid ass Romeo optics are garbage. I picked up one of those cheap MSRs on sale about a year ago, and it outright died with less than 30 minutes of use. I hadn’t even gotten to shoot it. It was never dropped, I didn’t fry it, nothing. It just died. I have a friend and the same thing happened to his Romeo FBI model or whatever the fuck it is. These Sig optics are cheap trash, and it’s an insult to gun owners that they’re charging as much as they are for some of these things.
