You are a great teacher. Awesome video. Your P220 is exactly like my P245, down to every detail. I didn’t see any videos for 245, thank you for your video!!

Saved my butt. With your video I was able to reassemble it after I tore it due to dirt and grease. Thanks!

Brilliant video, thank you for sharing. It’s been quite a while since I’ve fired and disassembled this handgun. I wanted to become more familiar with disassembly, before I fired and cleaned it again. Your attention to detail and concise example makes for an easy reacquaintance with the P220. Cheers

Yours is Stamped! Exactly like mine. An easy way to tell is the slight flat on the top of the slide, just forward of the ejection port. This is a great video, the first I have seen with an earlier slide. Thanks again man!

Fantastic video!!!!! If you make others, may I suggest using manual focus and manual mode for exposure. That will eliminate the camera from changing focus as you move towards and away the lens, and it will hold consistent exposure. This was a very helpful video to help me with my disassembly & reassembly to clean out some globs. Thank you very much!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Thank you for this excellent video. Funny how most SIGs are very similar. With the exception of the E2 extractor modification on my P228 M11-A1. I got that figured out.

Sweet, will be fixing my 98 p220’s internal extractor. Apparently the browning double action .45 is the same gun and parts interchangeable. It’s that or send it to sig for an arm and a leg

If you have a pre-1994 pistol there is no hammer reset spring in the hammer stop block. When firing, the hammer hits the firing pin and the slide cycle cocks the hammer to single action condition. Using the hammer drop/de-cocking lever drops the sear into a half-cock safety notch, but dry firing leaves the hammer all the way down. I did a detail strip cleaning and was dismayed when I could not find the trigger reset spring to install until I saw that there was no slot in the hammer stop block to accommodate that spring.

Just got a commander rowl hammer. Went to install it and the sear and hammer didn't match. The old one has a larger notch. Just hate the sharp hammer that ends in a chisel point. It's forged so I'm wondering about having it cut and welded. Or maybe wondering if a new sear would fit an old W.German. I like the P220 more than the 1911

Thank you! Great video! I've heard in the past you should replace the roll pins in the slide after disassembly. Have you had any issues by reusing the same roll pins? where can you buy them if needed?

the locking block in my P220 10mm elite does not come out, it is stuck there. are newer models different? does the trigger pin hold the locking block together? I can't remove the trigger pin either. Any thoughts?

I just purchased an Astra A-80, which is similar, if not a copy of the P220. Do you know if the disassembly is the same?

I bought my Sig Sauer P220R In 2013 brand new... I've taken to the range perhaps 5 or six times in these past nine years of ownership but i clean and maintain all of my firearms 7 or 8 times a year so they are always greased oiled and wiped down field stripped etc.. fairly regularly.. But my SIG SAUER P220R guide rod spring broke into three pieces and crumbled in my hand as I disassembled it to clean it.. I contacted Sig through e/mail they never got back to me... I thought it had Lifetime warranty on parts manufactured at Sig. I called and spoke to a Sig employee he said it's my fault for not Shooting it? And therefore the Guide rod spring failed. That was a Laughable response. Either way I bought Three new guide Rod spring's. But do u think my confidence in my P220R is Good? Or not so good? My glock21sf???? Still runs like a champ Bo bought it in 2010. My Mil spec 1911??? Same! Zero issues.

What is the size of the punch that you used to remove that peice so that its fall out and then you took out out the firing pin.

Very nice! I've been looking forward to this video. Thank you. I have a 2004 P220r Made In Germany and assembled in Exeter,NH. It has a magazine disconnect safety which I'm not terribly fond of. I live in Georgia so it's an unnecessary 'feature'. Unlike the P226 I don't see the pin and spring in the locking block. It must be in the sear assembly area? Any ideas? I suppose I'll call Sig... Thanks!

Hmm. I googled around, but couldn't find a schematic that showed a 220 with mag disconnect. My email is on the channel "about" page if you want to send me some pics. Generally, if you have the slide off and look down the magwell from the top as you insert a mag, you should be able to see what parts the magazine interacts with to identify the mag disconnect. There is a lot of different ways to build a mag disconnect, so I can't really guess what sig might have done here. =(

Your way overexpaining stuff, its not rocket science to take apart a gun but nice to see how its done so you know how. It sounds like this, so here a car wheel, now these are the lug nuts, youll notice the r very important to the operation of the wheel, let me grab one, ok, now the key is u r going 2 have to line up these holes in the wheels to the holes on the hub, alright let me get the wheel out of the way 2 show u the holes on the hub, u c the holes here, they have threads in them and if u will notice the threads on the lug nuts screw into these holes because they have the same threads and blah blah blah blah blah it sounds idiotic, just say, the small opening of the guide rod goes on first. and show it, thats it.
