I feel like if they'd focus less on the client-side of anti-cheat and just work on server-side instead, that might make a more significant impact since cheaters wouldn't have access to the machine running the anti-cheat in the first place and might be harder to cheat hopefully ; - ;

As much as they repeat and won't stop digging a hole for themselves, what exactly can they do with the cheating? there's only so much an anti cheat can do and people will hate a kernel system. On top of that I imagine its the only thing they can say and probably only say it to try and keep up a good face.

@@howiedoodat8 they could probably do that as well, but if the anti cheat runs on a machine that's don't have access to (eg. on the server), they wouldn't even need to break the code I reckon And as @DarkChibiWeebie mentioned, they can only dig so far down until they hit kernel level, which won't solve the issue anyways, it just delays the inevitable :(

Not banning mnk on consoles with proof really pissed me off. They won't ban glitchers either which is against tos, they actually sponsor them

Seriously. When they eventually do detect cheaters on PC they're banned. It would be insane if you could just run aimbot and walls and the only thing that happens is a stern warning on your screen saying you've been detected AKA mousetrap. Apparently the same rules don't apply if you're cheating on console.

The deadzone bug only happened because they tried changing how deadzones worked but they screwed it up. As well as no transparency was given until they had to fix it which is shitty of them to do.

Even in year 9, I still get ridiculous glitches like the one where it disables your mic and the only way to fix it is to restart your client. That's been in the game for years and no other game has this issue like come on

@@pavelmarkelov7763 Yeah he's still bad, but his design is healthy. Being stationary is bad game design in siege, he can move now, he is a real operator now. When grim first released he was super clunky so players didn't learn him, this made him look even worse than he really was. Give tachanka qol buffs and I guarantee that he will jump right back into the cluster of under picked ops with a ~0% win delta. If goyo is fine and smoke is very popular, there is no reason that tachanka cannot be in a healthy place too.

I used to get placed in Platinum - Im an Xbox player - The game hasnt been tolerable for the past 3 years Xims and Modden controllers are everywhere I used to play COD competitively Macros are easy to catch out when you know what to look/hear for. Lack of recoil, burst firing but the guns audio is playing its single fire audio.

They are updating the game just by looking at the data. They don't play the game anymore. The year when gridlock and mozzie were added was the best

i remember playing velvet shell for the first time and the game was so fresh had class and actually had flare the game had an identity now the game just really isnt the same. not even close, i played a bit during year one on my friends account but only a few times. i got addicted in year 2 season 1 even skipped some classes to play siege thats how fun it was, i dont think i have EVER had that much fun in a game before

Out of my last 6 ranked games, first 4 in a row, there was a cheater on the other team. 5th game it was 4v5 after the first round and the 6th game I had a Waller who was being careful with it on my team. Won 1 of my past 6.

G (Gregor) themself has said that the game needs to rebuilt from the ground up. The old framework is too vulnerable and the new programmers simply don’t know how to work with it. The devs are trying their hardest but simply cannot work with this anymore. The executives need to get their heads out their butts, and I hope the horrible state of the game and the insane drop in players helps them wake up and realize they need to stop bottle capping their passionate dev team.

Gregor is an idiot. If he thinks Ubisoft can be trusted with doing a task like that he’s the dummest guy I’ve ever heard. He’a also pretty bad at the game and biased. Ubisoft just needs to make siege like it was in the good days where everything was faster. Revert nerfs. Go back to 8 operaters and 2 maps per season, and make cheating as hard as possible to the point it’s no longer viable.

We're exhausted of the 3rd party hardware users on console. Obviously most are on Xbox but there are work arounds on PS. These need to be addressed by Microsoft and Sony, specifically, which is difficult since the use of MnK and other 3rd party hardware are legal for *some* other games where it won't give any advantage.

My friend and I are up in diamond/champ ranks and I think we have had a hacker in 90% of games we have played. It’s hard to enjoy the game when everyone is cheating.

Even though siege isnt realistic, its not hard to see why majority player base like its old state. It felt more swat-tacticle styled. You really felt like you were part of r6 team putting down a breaching charge on a baracade, especially when the game didnt have magical abilities like lion. If felt more real. Gadgets were better balanced. Combat/maps were way better. These reworks just make the maps worse imo. And the fact that they removed old house from casual or even custom is beyond me. No one asked them to rework that map, but they did and didnt even put it in ranked. And that map is sunset, i like either day or night. Just overall very weird choices by developers.

Here's a list of all the issues currently happening: There are more cheaters than last season, and that's saying something. Almost every match in diamond I queue into has a cheater. Queue times have skyrocketed. If you play later in the day it can take 20 minutes to find a match. Operators like Maestro are mostly unplayable due to not being able to aim properly with the cameras because of the dead zone glitch. Ubisoft said they have fixed it twice, yet it's still present. Desync issues with shield operators means that you can get headshoted through the shield while running or even being idle. The reputation system occasionally bugs out and gives you a lower standing. The ubisoft friend list overlay sometimes doesn't work at all, even after restarting the launcher. This seems to be a server side issue. Hopefully these problems are fixed soon as it can only be detrimental to the player base.

I think the worse part is that a lot of the new content has just been actively regressing backwards rather then forwards. The removal of all the sights back to just the what 5 sight system removing so much visual variety, constant nerfing of everything even those that they consider as actively ‘balanced’ heck the entire recruit “rework” making them somehow less and more useful then launch recruit while removing all the fun of them. It’s at constant war with itself.

Bring me back velvet shell meta it was so fun to play back then

I feel like Ubisoft gets in their own way when it comes to content and whatnot. Higher ups picking and choosing what devs can work on seems more of a hindrance as I’m sure it makes the devs feel like they’re being held back from what they really wanna do to help the game. If devs are allowed full control over the game without some higher up’s final say so, then we could see possible positive changes to help the game and community

I comment on this a lot, but even with content, no cheaters, and no bugs, quick match 2.0 and ranked 2.0 will STILL suck

The biggest issue is the lack of content. I still haven’t even touched the new season bc there was nothing exciting about it.

IMO - The core issue are cheaters not lack of content. What’s the point in having plenty of content if you cant enjoy it? The developers know it’s the main issue, meaning more resources are being put into fixing that specific issue and allocating less resources for content.

Part of the issue with sieges updates are the fact that siege's devs were in a constant cycle of crunch it lead to less thoughtful operator design and issues with operator balance like lion and finkas gadgets as one notable example. Now siege devs are not in the constant cycle of crunch due to the content ramp down. There are other theroies that the are doing behind the scenes work and need to slow down content to get the background work finished so they can do future content.

On PC, I give up playing ranked at a certain level, as the cheaters just become more rampant the higher you go.

to me it doesn't feel like the bugs are changing at all. like they will fix one bug then an old one or random new one will pop up. like one bug that has been in the game for prob 4-5 months now is the chat bug on pc where it won't send chats anymore (not banned from chat bc i will have full blown conversations then it randomly stops sending chats). there are still audio bugs in the game and on top of that, the second you get anywhere near plat or higher its cheaters ever other game. sad to see it in this state

Hidden mmr is just so unfair. The game thinks i’m emerald or diamond level all because I had a few good games & wins so they put me against people in that level even though I’m not that level. While teammates are completely random as u could be matchmaking with people below ur skill level or complete frauds that are higher rank than me somehow or a rare chance of actually getting good teammates.

I feel the game has also struggled with the new era of gaming where everyone wants to play the best they can all the time, it’s hard to get on siege and have fun as even quick match are sweaty af

the hype at the start of this year from a lot of people with acogs returning, changes to attachments, etc was killed by the issues that have plagued this game for years.

I wouldn’t mind the lack of content if any of the issues were actually being addressed, but unfortunately they’re not. It feels like the only part of the game receiving attention is how to monetise it more.

It’s almost like it needs a well built sequel.

I played last night, played 3 games, 1 standard for a low level friend who cant rank, 2 ranked games after. All 3 had blatant wallers to a point where the last death was my team mate getting beamed through a wall. Had team mates star white knight hacking in return. It was insane how hard they were not trying to hide it. Ive played since year 1, pretty sure you don’t have a 3.9 KD with less than 60 matches and a 88% headshot rating.

I literally switched from playing Siege to playing ow. I never had faith in ow as it seemed like just a cash n' grab game (which it somewhat still is), but since the cheaters and just more skins and the battle pass came out with less content.... I left. I don't even play ranked unless it's with a buddy. In the end, I'd just stop at Copper and play Quick Match.

@@cane870i remember when they made a dumb decision to make a 1.5 optic, and hand it to ops like mozzie, warden and oryx. For seasons i had to deal with those headshot machines. Like cant they just take 5 mins to think???

My issue is that theyre too focused in the monetization department and not the game development department. They keep implementing half baked changes along side extremely frustrating amounts of buy my lack luster cosmetic packs for $20 that ill shove in your face with a big rotating panel in your menu and shop. They hear the boos everywhere when they put in more monetizing as a priority over content and stability but just laugh it off and keep scooping out broken “fixes” and ignoring their community.

Yup fully just quit siege while the dead-zone bug was happening. Absolutely ridiculous that I couldn’t play a game I loved bc of this. I thought this last year, siege is on the decline, but hopefully next year is better. I’m gonna hold out out hope this next year, that it will be a giant year for siege. It’ll be my senior year of hs and if year 10 is shit, I’m done I think

The menu and UI have quite a few bugs. This season if I give two teammates commendations I can't leave the screen. I also haven't been able to commend the other team since at least last season.

Deadzones are still messed up. May have fixed the delayed input but it doesn’t feel anything close to what it was

There is a reason I stop playing after year three it lost the tactical feel and became an operator/ hero shooter. I’m so thankful for ready or not as it is to me the real experience of being a SWAT team feels like.

I’ve been playing siege on Xbox since op health and ranked on and off since velvet shell. the fact that last season I ran into 3 Elo glitch cheaters lobbies and got bans as a result of it and EVEN after reporting it I got 1 MMR point back after I lost a combined 75 between those 3 matches is bullshit. Furthermore connectivity to servers is a problem me and many of my friends deal with daily we get banned for 1 hour or 2 or whatever EVEN after we are actively trying to reconnect to the match is also bullshit. I enjoy the game but I’m gradually losing interest and not having as much fun I used to.

kinda crazy that this year ive been seeing multiple youtube channels just straight up dedicated to cheating/selling cheats/showing how you can cheat in r6. and these videos have like thousands of views. They're not even hiding it, its like "how to set up r6 cheats in 5mins" type videos

Last season was my first back in years and my first experience of ranked 2.0 and I’ve not picked the game back up this season no drive to play when worse players are gifted high ranks

I have taken a back seat over the last year. The content has just not been there. One op per season is just not enough. I harped on this when we had 0 truly new maps for over two years. This season we got recruit 2.0 and kind of nothing else. I feel like this is operation health 2 with little hope for the future.

It currently takes me 15-20min to get into matches, so for the lack of maps we have, it’s very difficult to stay tbh

I haven’t played siege in months so recently i decided to get back into the game because I loved playing the game. Literally my first game of QUICK PLAY had a team of mnk users. I didn’t even finish the game I quit and never went back. I’ll come back if somehow they fix mnk on console.

Rainbow six really needs to return in it's original roots. Older rainbow six games are one of the best tactical shooter games with Campaign missions. The old bloods who played these games knows that thing. Siege was one of its kind during its release and its still but its not fun anymore

This used to be my favorite game of all time. I played 1500 hours of it in less than 3 years. Then i quit when they kept nerfing everything and reworking every map to be exactly the same. It's sad that nothing has changed in the 6 years since.

I've generally been positive on the decision to shift resources from "new content" to system changes and improvements. It's easy to forget how much stuff they've done that we now take for granted. And in the one operator per season era, the ops have generally been released in a much better state. However... Year 9 has been a regression. I like the idea of "less new content" when the tradeoff is optimizing the existing content to work at its best. Yet somehow we're getting very little new content and also breaking the existing content with new bugs in systems that worked fine previously. I used to mock people who would say "year 9 😏" when there was a game bug, as if this was same game that released 9 years ago and they've had all that time to just focus on quashing bugs. As long as the game is changing constantly bugs go with the territory. When the game isn't materially changing, the excuses disappear, you need to get your shit together.

I'm still facing blatant cheaters just trying to climb up silver. The fact that there's enough people cheating in even low ranks kills literally everyone. There's practically no reason to continue playing the game, and I hope you're right that year 10 will be the fix

Maybe im just ass, but is the recoil different on console now? It feels much higher and more random. Every gun just feels different now. Guns that i used to think had insane recoil are buttery smooth and vice versa. I know some guns had been balanced but its just insane now!

Good video. As a day one player with lots of rare skins, I’m loving the marketplace. Took a few years off from the game and now I’ve got all these great cosmetics from the marketplace, but the game is rife with cheaters. Even in quick match which used to be a pretty reliable game mode for casual players or returning players like me. Disappointed that it’s gotten so bad!

Short answer:For siege it kinda feels like watching a death by thousand cuts. Lack of good content within the amount of time, Monetization, Balence (nerfsoft), Cheaters, Age (things gets old even games), new games, bugs. Long answer: SIege i think needs a lot to make people come back or to retain the player count. I been playing since operation heath and have bout 2000 hours + about 3000 on console. and just kinda stop playing it last few months. Stop with new blood. The given time for every update should be at least a deadly omen a new op, changes that are worth being reveled at a panel and not just on a balance patch form example (the solis nerfs and fenerir nerfs feels like a balence patch. and the changes should be FUN when was the last time we had actually fun changes other then some numbers changed. FOR MAPS A (new map or a solid rework or some map buffs least). New guns atleast 4 every year. Cheaters will be a problem for every mutiplayer game. games get old and new ones come out additionally. With the last season new blood it feels like they needed to rush something out so they did the recruit and some small changes. nothing that required new animations or new models or any of that stuff. All of the changes even the recruit models to me seem like they could be done within a month. they have very similar recruits to R6 mobile. The nerfs, recruits now allowed into completive a lot of it feels like just a few lines of code. SIege is a big team yes but I wonder how many people need to green light a small change just to go though. H Longer answer) From a video game developer perspective this game feels like it has its soul slowly taken out and replaced with a dimbed down version. Nothing cool or fun everything must be balanced. No room for it being fun. It feels like the devs dont play there game. I wish we could see the developers talk more about what behind the scenes and reasons for changes and such. LIttle bit of honesty goes a long way look at hell divers 2. Or atleast let them be able to talk about what possible changes more then a pr team doing everything. I remember the nokk changes really cool and fun but we dont see any of that stuff in a while. I really hope siege next update gets better but it feels like ubisoft is kinda leaving out siege to wither away bit by bit. Sure we get background changes but that should not make up for what is lost content that long term also helps siege more of maps, operators fun ones. Fun changes. so on. i also know its also players for a game like siege we must optimize everything and use the best operators. but its the developers jobs to try changes yes and figure things out.

Recruit rushing was so much fun. They didn’t need a rework. The game is just not fun anymore. I hate playing casual now due to crappy maps and bots for teammates in ranked. I also miss the night maps. Mnk players on console are on all time high. Devs somehow create a gamebreaking glitch every single season, and then take weeks to fix issues. Cant have shit in siege anymore

What about manipulative matchmaking? Another cornerstone of live service. No one wants to seem to talk about this in siege though.

There is also an issue with sounds in the game

I’ve never ran into cheaters until this season, I’ve seen people wall blatantly and I haven’t been more appalled

R6 Siege being so bad has stopped me from playing XDefiant by the same company.

Matchmaking is absolutely atrocious. I stay getting queue’d with goddamn Champs & Diamonds even though I’m a high Gold, low Plat player. Make it make sense

Thanks to some friends I've had aimbots, spinbots, godmode all types of things on console before. Not for siege but for cod, so it is possible to cheat and to practically any level on console. It's just worse when the only "anti-cheat" is to detect a device that is otherwise compatible with the console normally and not a legitimate cheat. Thats where ubi went wrong cuz then whole groups of people could aimbot on console potentially from months to year(s) because of the psuedo "anti-cheat" they put in place. Especially for PlayStation players not being able to reliably report others on their own platform.

My friends and I have been four-stacking since SEASON 1 and after the last night of Siege every single one of them uninstalled. Back-to-back mouse and keyboard players and the enemy teammates that are several ranks above anyone else in our team.

I've been playing since season 2 and there is no way on this Earth I will spend one cent on Siege until they fix the cheaters. I would gladly subscribe yearly, but I'm not paying to face cheaters.

Ubi is such a lazy company they can't fix cheaters(or they dont wanna) but they can add new membership for money lol

I play against diamonds and champions every game.. I’m gold 2 and was silver 3 last season.. it’s really fun

10:00 to get rid of most chesters Ubisoft need to put away stics from their asses and use/cooperate with tools that community created, cheater can be detected and "banned" on repitationgg for weeks, sometimes months, with rage cheats, and still, not getting banned in siege

Cheating on console is such a big issue which ubi seems to literally not care ab fixing

Biggest issue for me are stutters and lags. It's unplayable right now. Returned after a long break just to find out, very disappointing and it's a shame. Why no hotfix?

Yeah this most recent season is the reason why I haven’t played even 10 games this season. The battle pass sucks, no new maps or anything interesting, the recruit “remaster” sucks and was only implemented so they can sell Dogshit skins for them. And the hacking has never been worse AND ubi isn’t acknowledging it.

As a top ranked player, my hidden MMR match making is permanently 5k so Im versing the number 1 champs in any region and cheaters are every game, even on my first game. Its completely unplayable to the point you cancel 4 games just to think you have all legit players till some 0.8kd starts raging. Ubisoft doesnt care about the good players anymore, the top execs are greedy and just want to suck the life out of the game. Siege is finished.

I cant even solo q anymore this season. every ranked game on pc for me has a blatant waller or aim bot.

I´d be so cool if they updated the anti cheat and let us be able to play older game versions. 2-3 years ago siege was so much more fun

I really don’t see how their method “punishing” people who use MnK on console is look at as a good way. You “punish” someone who’s literally cheating by giving them just a longer Q time and putting them in PC lobbies. So yes it’s good for people who play on console but if i’m soloQ’ing or playing in anything other than a 5 stack i could get someone on console xim being punished by putting them in my lobby. But im being punished due to pc players possibly having to play with someone with a Xim. And i don’t care how you look at it Pc MnK is FAR superior then using a Xim So TLDR pc players get punished due to xim players being “punished” ( more of a slap on the wrist ) for cheating. They’re more in a roundabout way saying using a XIM is kinda of allowed on console even though for the past multiple years is been clearly stated as cheating

Hot take with a high chance of it happening: Year 10 will not have any sick content and Ubisoft will just let it die then divert all resources to xdefiant. We won't be seeing any new rainbow six games as well just because ubi dives completely into f2p 💀💀 Anyhow, feeling real sad for this once great game.

From a playing standpoint, I’m officially done with this game until they actually understand and fix the problems and listen to the player base. I’ll still play if friends want me to. It's a game that just isn’t fun for me to play anymore. I don't want to try every game I play, because people are cheating. Also broken promises with content is killing me

s1 of y9 was the biggest siege had been in awhile. season 2 has been the smallest and worse, only ubisoft could do that. i agree with you I think they are taking a year off to fix stuff, and then they will go big in year 10. feel like operation health 2.0 but fair lazier. they are ramping up monetazation and downgrading everything else.siege is nothing more then a money printer to ubigreed. they don't actually care about the state of the game, they just want more money.

I have been playing this game since Jackel, and my friend recently has stopped playing, cause lack of content. Do you really think even hardcore fans like myself can hold out for a year of virtually no content. Everybody laughed at me when I said, "Yeah, they didn't reveal any new maps for this year. The roadmap didn't show any slate for new maps..." Can Siege really survive a year of Operation Health against cheaters?

Why are there so many bugs? You cant have a competitive game with bugs after almost 10 years

Siege keeps changeing the story, 1st white mask, than the monster event with finka, than nothing, into training and now demios. I miss the white mask and the finka era. Plus siege had a mini campaign call simulation, now that gone, now thiers no campaign etc, thay relase extortion or what ever it called and that died very fast.
