The funny thing is, Habsburgs and Ottomans were an allies in a war that ended both of their empires.
Suleiman being like "I wasn't defeated. I just didn't win."
Long live the Croats who always defended Christian Europe!!!🇭🇷🇭🇷🇭🇷🇭🇷
"Your breakfast is getting cold". Damn that was savage.. 😂😂
Hold your Sabatons. The Poles aren’t here yet.
THEN THE WINGED HUSSARS ARRIVED! ... Oh... wait... not yet... not yet. See ya in 1683, Ottomans.
"Your breakfast is getting cold" This is the late medieval version of Come and get It. 100% deserved win
When the Ottomans left , they left behind their coffee recipes and presses. This is how espresso type coffee was introduced to Europe. It was called Cafe Vienna and the presses later got modified in Italy which gave rise to the current form of espresso. Starbucks owes its existence to the Siege of Vienna!
I wasn’t defeated I just didn’t win. 🤷♂️
After the sieges of Vienna, young Ottoman Sehazades (Princes) throughout the centuries often talked about finishing the job Sultan Suleiman had started and dreamed of besieging Vienna again even though the Ottoman state was declining in power. This mentality stuck all the way to WW1 where the Ottomans still believed that one day their dying empire would reach the gates of Vienna once again. Vienna was the golden apple that the Ottomans would crave for centuries to come after 1529. Great Video as always :D
"Stupid snow"
Your breakfast is getting cold
It seems we are getting ever more closer to one of the greatest last stands in history, the Siege of Eger 1552. Or at least I hope it will be covered. Such an epic story.
"Beware old men in a profession where they usually die young." - some random comment I read once upon a time.

Great ! I was starting to miss the Ottoman serie.
"She [Tolkien’s aunt Grace] alleged that the family name ['Tolkien'] had originally been ‘von Hohenzollern’, for they had emanated from the Hohenzollern district of the Holy Roman Empire. A certain George von Hohenzollern had, she said, fought on the side of Archduke Ferdinand of Austria at the Siege of Vienna in 1529. He had shown great daring in leading an unofficial raid against the Turks and capturing the Sultan’s standard. This (said Aunt Grace) was why he was given the nickname Tollkühn, ‘foolhardy’; and the name stuck."
"I didn't lose, I merely failed to win!"
