Siblings of Foster Child Removed Due to Nationality Sleep in Her Room

The foster family of a 6-year-old girl who was removed from their home vows to do whatever it takes to get her back. Rusty and Summer Page have been trying to adopt Lexi for the past three years, but the little girl, was taken from the Page's home last week by Los Angeles County child welfare authorities. Her siblings are camped out in her bedroom, waiting for Lexi to come home. The Pages are appealing the removal and say they will go to the U.S. Supreme Court if they have to. #InsideEdition

    I know this is late but I do agree with you they took a child away from a loving and caring family but they won’t take kids who actually need help I literally just saw a documentary on investigation discovery a father had visiting rights in his own house! because CPS said they can’t break up a family but he was a convicted killer and the mom was being CPS not to let the father see the kids without supervision because she had a feeling something bad was going to happen and sure enough the father drugged the kids put them in a shed and lit it on fire. CPS needs to be worried about kids that actually need help and not someone like her.

    My mom worked with kids in foster care. She said most kids wanted to go back to their families but there was one little girl who didn't. She clung on to people and screamed and cried when they tried to send her back. The place she was working at wanted to keep the girl but they weren't allowed to because she was Native American. She ended up going back to her abusive home. It's such a sad and awful thing.

    The people saying “Thats where she is supposed to be, with her real family” make me so mad. A family isn’t a family because of the blood, that is a forced family. A family is a family because of the bonds they share and their genuine love for each other, that’s what makes a family.

    I did find a little on this. Apparently Lexi was relocated to extended family in Utah and her biological sister. That couple had been trying to get her for three years. The Pages took Lexi in at 2 years. Apparently for the three out of four years they had her, the extended family had been trying to get custody. It seems that Lexi was never available for adoption at all. She was intended to return to family. It would appear that the Pages knew that. When the extended family started the process of getting her back so to speak (and from what I can infer no one had reason to believe this would be difficult), the Pages kept refusing and attempting legal actions to stop her removal. Fast forward to three years later and you got a little girl screaming on a front lawn but all of it was avoidable. I can’t find any info on what’s up with the biological parents at all. Just a brief mentioning of the father not being in her life. What I could deduce was that’s it’s mostly the fathers family who is involved with her. I don’t know if she’s happy but I pray she is. The Pages did say that they felt the couple who has her now would make great parents. Oh right, I forgot to mention Lexi had had weekly Skype interactions with the new family for years prior to her placement so they all knew these people relatively well.

    Lexi was never going to be able to be adopted. She was placed in foster care so her biological family can sort their personal manners. Before Lexi was removed from her foster family, the biological family had weekly contact with her. When Lexi was 2 years old, her family was being faced with serious matters. The biological family wanted what was best for Lexi and her development. They decided that putting her temporarily into a foster care program would be best for her growth. Four years after living with a foster family (Lexi now aged 6), her biological family was ready to welcome her home. Lexi was never going to be available for adoption. Her file stated that adoption was not a possibility. Her foster parents were made aware of this at some point before Lexi was placed with them. However, the status could have always changed and the foster parents may have been betting that it would so they could adopt her. In the end, Lexi is with a loving and caring family. The well being of the child is most important.

  • @formoftherapy
    @formoftherapy3 жыл бұрын

    Something felt off. Because aren’t foster parents supposed to be...well, temporary? For this next part we’ll call her new family “Utah family”. So basically Lexi was TEMPORARILY placed in their care at 2yrs old and has been in contact with her Utah relatives the entire time. She’s met them before and would Skype with them everyday prior to child services taking her away. Lexi was with the foster family for 3 years and in that time the Utah family have been trying to get Lexi back. I’m sure it only took 3 years because, well, the government can be slow sometimes. So Lexi was placed with the foster family always with the intention and understanding that she would go to the Utah family. Adoption was not on the table but in those 3 years the foster family have tried to adopt her. There have been no public updates since 2017. Looks like the public accounts surrounding this have been abandoned. So it looks like the real story is, the foster family got really attached to Lexi, tried to adopt her, but she already has family (even a sister) that was waiting for her.

    After reading another article it states that the foster family knew the entire time they’d never be able to adopt her and knew well in advance that this transfer was happening. They also violated her privacy by posting her legal name publicly which violates the law as far as fostering and adoption. Also this is the second child in the same situation that they attempted to adopt knowing they’d never be able to. Regardless of this they still created a Facebook page asking for donations to help with attorneys fees to get Lexi back even though they knew they would not be able to and would never be able to adopt her. They also denied all visits with her after the transfer even though the bio family tried to set up weekly visits. The foster family never attended a single visit.

    Alan The Pages were her foster parents. They had no legal rights to the child. The relatives were the only one with any kind of legal right to the child. The birth father only agreed to give up his legal rights to Lexi if his relatives were able to adopt her. Even if the Pages were able to stop the adoption, Lexi just would have gone back to her father as he would have still had rights to her.

    ღ Jupiter loves s1s ღ it’s selfish for people to become foster parents KNOWING they will get kids who need to go back home very soon and just needed somewhere to stay for a couple weeks, and then turn them into their own kids. Lexi was around two when they had her in their house so of course she doesn’t know what’s best for her and it’s the parents fault for doing that. She is now with her birth family, which was the end goal the whole time she was in foster care. Instead of them being selfish, they could adopt a child.
