It's always difficult to pick a best Sia song, but this is an absolute masterpiece of mood. If you've ever had that feeling then you can instantly recognise it from the lyrics and it needs no explanation, Sia is damn good at what she does.

I know right! Sia has thyroid disease like I do and it makes you lose your voice but she is still great!

“Bird set free” is about her thyroid storm that was starting to kill her. Your thyroid is shaped like butterfly so clipped wings means that she had to lose part of her thyroid!

There's a lot of rubbish churned out in the music world - but everything that Sia does is pure class - and she makes it look so effortless. No pretensions, no attitude just pure class. And sad songs are the best. Love you Sia . ❤❤❤

Great acoustic version, and of course, she forgot some of the lyrics, but that's why we love her.

I have no idea who she had in her life at the time that she wrote this, but if anyone I cared about in the least wrote a song like this I'd be sure that they got help. This song feels like a suicide note. It's one of many that she has written that makes me want to hug her. I'm glad that she's better now, but that sadness seems to always be just a breath away.
