I’ve had SI pain since I was a passenger & hit by a drunk driver over 30 years ago. Same accident happened 3 years later. I’m in pain 24/7. I’ve done PT, Cortizone shots, Acupuncture, massage, SI belt & stretches. Traveling is miserable from sitting. Nothing works. I met a Dr from Tx a few years ago that did some type of surgery with a device but it’s not done in Oregon where I live. Have you heard of this before?

Hi EVERY joint cracks in my body and my hips in particular are extremely sore. However according to your video (signs your joint pain is NOT arthritis), it isn't arthritis, l have pain the length of every bone. The cracking literally came on overnight and includes my spine, any ideas what this could be?

WHAT THE HECK?!?! I've been in so much pain for so long, nonstop... I do stretches and all sorts of things on my own, even doing something similar to the leg-on-chair dealie y'all did here. But I JUST tried it exactly as shown, and something went *pop* in my back and it's like.... 70% better. A little big sore, still, but not like... inescapable, endless pain that amplifies with even the slightest movement. EVEN MORE, I did the test y'all recommended to find out if it's nerve pain in your back by stretching out my leg and bowing my head down, which definitely made things worse the other day. Now? Just did it again, zero effect. You are no longer the only ones who think you're the two best physical therapists on the internet, holy potatoes, I have not had anything even remotely resembling peace in my spine for over twelve years. Thank you so much for sharing, I'm going to keep this in mind for when it amps up again.

For years I'd become debilitated by having my "lower back go out." I got all kinds of diagnoses from Drs. And chiropractors, but now I think it was involving the si joint. Since I've been 100% plant based, it's not recurred. Might be less inflammation. For whatever reason, it's nice to not be hospitalized, and told I need surgery. Thanks for the help with this issue.

It might be that you have given up dairy? If I have any milk products I get inflamed joints (and gut problems) and a worsening of any problem joints - ie those I've injured etc. I started to suffer great pain every morning and couldn't walk upright when I woke up... until I had a bad cold and stopped my nighttime hot milk to cut the phlegm. Over night the pain went, it was immediate.

I spent two nights in ER six weeks ago, and have been unable to walk more than ten or twenty feet since. A CT scan showed I had four bulging disks in my lumbar region. After watching You Tube videos like this I have discovered I am misdiagnosed. Definitely SI joint and NOT lumbar. Doctors minds can be trammelled by CT scans. Over and over I kept reading "some people have prolapsed disks and have no symptoms whatsoever". Then watching the lumbar recovery videos they kept saying sitting would give you relief - yet I couldn't sit. The pain is so excruciating. Then I saw a video where a surgeon explained SI joints often come with two other issues in the patient's past A. A history of frozen shoulder. B. A deviated septum with the narrower nostril on the same side as the frozen shoulder, and C. SI joint pain. Bingo, I had a deviated septum (look up your nose using your phone's camera, see if one nostril is wider than the other), and once I had a frozen shoulder. 1. The deviated septum makes you sleep on one side so you breathe more easily. 2. This gives you a frozen shoulder. 3. This twists and can dislocate the SI joint because your knees aren't together. The chair stretch in this video nailed it. It hasn't cured the pain but it has given relief during the stretch, definitely NOT lumbar. You might find the video that revealed what I am suffering from useful its here; kzread.info/dash/bejne/dXaEq5d9odbWpZs.htmlsi=gNUj10f71XT2Vvi_

It is 1:12 AM where I am. I was extremely excited about starting physical therapy. The physical therapist said there is nothing wrong with my spine after having me bend forward- hands on the floor, then having me bend backwards and then side to side. She gave me a list of exercises to do and I had been doing them but I am very used to doing them. Physical Therapist told me that I am far more flexible than most other people. When I went to the Orthopedic, I told the receptionist that the physical therapist wanted to talk to her. The receptionist smiled she remembers that the girls in the back got the message. The physical therapist wanted more instructions. The physical therapist told the Orthopedic clinic that I am more flexible than (the physical therapist). Like I am already doing the exercises they give all other patients to make their pain go away. The nurse practitioner said she looked at my X rays and said the pain is not coming from any of my bones, that it was muscles or nerves. My tailbone hurts. Later this month, I go get the results of my EMG. Bob and Brad, although the fact that they are saying I am very flexible and can do the exercises they give all their patients maybe humourous, but at the same time, it means something is more seriously wrong than the patient who goes to physical therapy who doesn't exercise. Bob and brad, can you give me some hope that they can make physical therapy work for me? Bob and brad, what do you do with patients that exercise regularly or go to yoga, acrobatic and Gymnastics classes, what do you do for them? Please give me some hope. Thanks very much.

Hi! Just wanted to say I'm sorry that your situation is so difficult. Frankly, it's a little shocking to me that anyone would have you bend forward and put your hands on the floor. Talk about back strain! Even if a person could do it, why would it be desirable? It's not good for the back. We try to avoid hyper-extension, knowing that it can aggravate the low back issues. It's hard to imagine myself agreeing to those kinds of bending stretches which badly torque the spine, no matter how limber I might be. I think that by watching the core strengthening videos, using just normal stretches and exercises, you might actually be able to reduce your pain. Gosh, I hope so. I'll pray for you. Please take good care! 😳😊🙏🙏🙏😊💕

P.S. In many SI pain type/tailbone video comments, people have remarked that "doughnut pillows" have greatly reduced their tailbone pain. 'Hope that helps! 'Bye for now.

@@k.h.489 the physical therapist DID NOT tell me to lean backwards and put my hands on the floor and I never said she did. I did. I have been in Gymnastics and then yoga and pilates which includes full back bends. It may be bad for untrained person. But I have no intentions on stopping back bends and Bridges

@@k.h.489 in the late 80's, when they started saying aerobic instructors and personal trainers had to get certified and the result is they replaced talented aerobic instructors with outright obnoxious ones in the gym. I remember the Reebok national champion, his name was Fred and he was hired to open up the Womens only Kelly Lynn gyms. He told us that in Piccadilly he takes the plates off the trays of the people behind him And in front of him and puts vegetables on their trays- Piccadilly would had called the police on my ass if he would have tried that with me. I have been doing backbends back walkovers whatever. I am not going to stop because of some research people are obseesed with controlling someone that much. I had an aerobics Instructor come started pulling the pins out of machine I was using. I asked if she had a problem or was she looking for one. And no when someone is trained correctly there is no back strain in doing backbends. That actually strengthens the core.

@@kathycormiersuntanningrebe7870 Didn't you say that your tailbone is killing you? When you asked for hope, you didn't mention that you are already a skilled athlete. I was genuinely moved by your having pain. As non-athletes, most of us are lucky to simply stand up every day. It seems as though you may have a lot of anger, and that's perfectly okay. I'm just sorry to have provoked it. You're a good person, and I wish you only good things! Hope that your tailbone feels better soon. - Sincerely a friend. 🌹🌿⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

None of these worked for me :( but I appreciate your videos and the information though! How long is it before you know the PT is working? I’ve been dealing with constant and progressing Sciatic pain for 2 years with lots of problems with bad chiropractors, PT, insurance and even my family Dr. I’ve trusted the process in the past but was left with months of minimal results and high medical bills. I finally have a new team of Drs including new primary dr, physical therapy, and pain management that actually listen :) plus I’m finally off of working a physical job. A long sought after MRI showed I have 4 herniated disks with one pressing on the spinal cord. So I’m praying this round of PT improves my mobility and strength! Thanks again and praying for your health too Bob! :)

You guys are awesome! I had a very bad SI joint situation last September and finally after a year I am mostly out of pain and getting strong due to deep water exercise and daily PT exercises. What do you think about strengthening? My PT worked with me on core strength in order to keep the same thing from happening over and over. Thank you!! 👏🏻

What exercises did you focus on for strengthening? I’ve been in terrible shape since June 2022. I’ve been re-injured twice and haven’t had a day without extreme pain in nearly 9 months. Every time I try to strengthen, I hurt myself. I’m so frustrated. I quit PT because it was making me worse. Uggh I wear an SI belt every day. I just started sleeping without it in the past month. I still feel terrible unstable. I want to feel normal again so badly.

I had surgery but avoid if you can as huge recovery. Sometimes you need pain killers to enable exercise. Do a few rather than none. I did Clamshells, side leg raises. Cat stretch. Work the glutes. Cobra stretch if you can. Bridge exercise. Use table / firm chair to help get up again. Good luck

I had a left SI fusion august 8th 2023, and the pain is so much worse, I can’t sleep, I can’t walk, I can’t give my kids a bath, all I can do is stand because even sitting hurts. My left upper thigh on the side has a numbing pain feeling and I have very sore achy pain down my leg to about my knee, it’s down the side, I’ve had 3 failed back surgeries back in 2011,2011

If you’re really loose in the SI joints, the way to fix it is either via PRP or prolotherapy. I wore a belt for years, but I had to be injected to make the ligaments heal and tighten. If nothing works, try the PRP. It’s well worth it.

Hi Bob & Brad I've had a bulging disc for 10yrs with about a dozen episodes of sciatica since, I went to the NHS a few Yr ago and they said it was caused by a tight periformis muscle but the last few months my hamstring goes in to spasm when either kneeling or stretching out during the night so I booked into the NHS physio again, when I mentioned the periformis they said it's a thing of the past doing these exercises and told me I need to stretch my sciatic nerve as its tight causing my hamstring pain, is this something you have heard about as periformis stretching seem to help me , Thanks for any info Tom

I woke up at like 4am crying in DEBELITATING pain in my SI joint, shooting down my left leg, unable to even roll myself over. No matter the medication I take, stretches I do, heat/ice... nothing has made it go away. It's just gotten somewhat less excruciating. Q: What do you do in those situations? It was almost like SEVERE muscle spasms all around the SI joint that I haven't been able to take away. I even had to wake my husband up to have him help me roll over 😩 he also used our massage gun to try to get the muscles to release, but that didn't do much either. Every time I would move or use my left leg to put any weight on it, the shocking pain would return and I have barely slept since then. It's been 2 nights in a row. I can barely walk without support from a person or a cane... i have 2 herniated discs and am waiting to get my 2nd epidural on the 14th, but what do I do for now? And i don't even know if the epidural would stop these symptoms 😭

Been watching you both for years, and you’re both truly THE TWO MOST FAMOUS!!❤ I have a question, I fall from the top of the bathtub, and fractured my coccyx, three years ago, and since than, I’ve had severe pain and have had cortisone injections twice( they do help) but, I have osteoporosis and can’t keep having cortisone injections, will these help my pain, even with osteoarthritis?

You have great videos about sciatica as a result of a herniated disc but could you give some advice about relieving sciatica symptoms as a result of stenosis, (due to spondylolisthesis.) Is decompressing on a half roller, (the long way...head to sacrum), safe for spondy and the joints of the spine? Thanks!

I have a question, pain in tailbone. Can't sit without aid of a special cushion. Can no longer cycle. Is there any physio for that? Thanks guys. I'm such a fan. You've relieved this 52 year old mother of about 8 years of severe pain from my right hip which was so high it was touching my ribs when sitting. Walking any length was impossible. Short walks only and then pay for it after. Not even a week into doing a one minute stretch on the afflicted side and sleeping with a pillow under the opposite hip and my hip is back down where it should be. It's still tilted forward but at least the pain is gone. Forever endebted to you both. Sing your praises to others daily.

I've had left SI joint pain for almost two months. I do have hip brusitis in the left hip whitch I thought was causing the pain because it does radiate to the SI joint. I started getting groin pain first and I seen 4 doctors they all told me it's a groin sprain I've just soldiered through the back and groin pain Until about a week ago it felt like the joint was locking up in the mornings and sometimes during the day. With pain! I'm going back to my gp tomorrow to see if it is a SI joint problem. I've also booked with my physiotherapist in a few days time to get his input on it. I am so worried as it's slowly crippling me now I just hope it's a easy fix 😔

Thanks again! Last week I lifted my 50lb. suitcase to put it up on the rack, and of course hurt my back, and after sleeping on a hard bed. I've seen two chiropractors who said rather different things. The second and his partner said I have Sacraliitis, or SI joint pain. The electric hot treatment felt great! The sharp pain is gone, but It still hurtsand don't want to walk. I tried these two exercises and I felt nothing bad. Does that mean i have a different problem? Scary to think I now have a permanent problem. I bought a back brace and just put it on tight like the belt. I'll see if that works.
