Let me ask you a question, I have an original Shure SM7B that I use with the same cloudlifter as yours with a Saramonic SmartRig II (Equivalent of your TC Helicon Go Solo) and then connect to my iPhone. The problem is that I get a lot of white noise, and I always have to treat the audio to remove the noise manually with audacity and also have to increase the decibels on final cut pro. Can you test if you use your original Shure SM7B with cloudlifter and TC Helicon connected to the iPhone, would you get a lot of white noise also? Is this normal?

couldn't u just use the shure mvx2u into the iPhone with the Shure sm7db?

Sadly where i live, it costs more like 600$ so not worth it for me

according to their faq it isnt a cloudlifter but it is by cloud

I wonder what the difference is. It seems like Cloud’s “mic activators” are all considered “cloudlifters” even when they are in different forms, like the variable impedance CL-Z. Maybe Cloud just didn’t want “cloudlifter” associated with the SM7dB…

@@AudioHotline idk but for some reason its noisier on the -18dB setting (i have a sm7db and tested it myself, luckily ill never have to use the -18 instead of -28 setting lol)

Amazon UK €590, wow big jump from the original mic. Shure does sound good though 😀

I am actually just using the TC Helicon Go Solo that I mention, and it’s going directly into my iphone.

"Cloudlifter" - have Shure made a partnership with Cloudlifter or is it just a "Preamp" ?

It’s a Cloudlifter, they partnered with them. The cloud logo is even on the SM7dB box.
