Yeahhh that was my buddy. He was really shy. He always nailed any part when we were practicing it but put in front of an audience and he always clammed up and sucked.

It is a high school production, so don't expect a Broadway performance. The kids obviously worked hard on it and even though the vocals could use some more work, they did a good job. They went for it and were all in, even if they probably knew the vocals weren't always where they should have been. That is to be applauded.

Giving some positive vibes here: this is absolutely amazing, I’m a person who grew up on Shrek, and the people playing Shrek and Donkey almost got the voices perfect! Lord farquad (or however you spell it) was played as well as it could since the person was on their knees the entire time. Also the scene where the characters had to go into the swamp, that dance number was amazing! Edit: and yes I know I’m a *few* years late

This is the worst show of this I’ve seen though. This show freaking sucks. I’m not immature either, but I’ve seen better high school shows than this. Look online, you’ll find better ones than this. The quality is better than ones I’ve seen though. Of course that has nothing to do with the show!😂😂

Even though sometimes the vocals aren't the best... this was THE BEST production of Shrek (besides on Broadway) I have ever seen!! Hilarious and beautifully put together! Well done everyone!

Why doesn't the ensemble have any Energy when they sing. It brings the entire quality of the production down to at least a six out of 10. they seem like they'd rather hang themselves with Barbwire than actually be on stage

I don't want to be so overly judgmental, but many of the actors/actresses in the show missed lines or cues, and the mics were definitely on heat. And there was such a lack of energy, it seemed, like no one really wanted to be there. The Shrek was pretty good, he seemed reminiscent of Brian d'Arcy James, but other harmonies seemed so forced and shaky.

I agree with you, it''s just a big claim to make as the best on youtube. I think they did a pretty good job, I just think there's always room for improvement. I've done Shrek the Musical twice, once as Farquaad and once as Shrek, and not everything went perfect for me or the rest of my cast. We did Shrek at my high school. We were able to get the costumes from Broadway. Actually went a lot better than I thought it would.

My school is doing this musical I am penocio, the person playing it wasn't bad at all, it's always fun to see other people do the same part I am, I've noticed penocio is like always a girl in a high school production. The only thing I wish was the girl that played the dragons voice was stronger, it was very shaky.

I'm doing this musical for my first year in musical theatre. I didn't know it was a musical till now and I'm excited to be in it now!

7 minutes in, and I've got to say adult Shrek's vocals are outstanding. the acting for all of the main characters is very good for a high school production. a few of the lines and some other things have changed, but I suppose that's just because it's Shrek jr. maybe? either way, amazing production, and thank you for sharing!

Remember; this is a highschool production, not a Broadway show. Even if the singing and acting could be improved, it's obvious that every cast member put a lot of effort into this.

No matter what anyone says, I absolutely loved the singer for the dragon. She was fantastic

A loved this because of there enthusiasm! Even if this wasn’t an amazing performance it was still clear they were in it to win it!

dont call something the best if the kid cant even remember his lyrics in the first song of the show.
