Shozo Shimamoto - Performance al Magi'900, Italy

Il giorno 11 novembre 2008 Shozo Shimamoto e Yasuo Sumi eseguirono una performance al Museo Magi '900, che consisteva nel lancio di colori, contenuti in bottiglie di vetro o bicchieri sulle tele.
I due artisti hanno fatto parte del Movimento Gutai fondato nel 1954 da Yoshihara, ed il cui nome, è stato dato proprio da Shimamoto. Il movimento Gutai è` stato celebrato ed apprezzato in tutto il mondo (si ricorda, fra l'altro, la presenza del Gruppo Gutai alla Biennale di Venezia del 1993) e ha esaltato e messo in gioco il complesso rapporto tra una forte tradizione culturale e un altrettanto urgente desiderio di rinnovamento della pittura attraverso il suo superamento.
Le opere di Shimamoto, sono presenti nei più importanti musei internazionali tra cui la Tate Gallery di Londra, il Centre Pompidou di Parigi, la Galleria d'Arte Moderna di Roma, partecipò anche alla 48ma e alla 50ma Edizione della Biennale di Venezia con Yoko Ono nel 1999 e nel 2003 nel progetto Brain Academy Apartment.
Per Sumi, che dopo l'esperienza Gutai in cui entra nel 1955, fa parte dell'Art Club diretto da Taro Okamoto e oggi del Gruppo AU, "l'uomo è un prodotto della natura e per questo ha in sé il potere della natura, una grande forza come quella che si sprigiona durante un terremoto o un tifone". Nelle sue azioni egli ama coinvolgere il colore con strumenti. Il colore, così, si espande e "sporca" oggetti, abiti, volti, regalando loro un nuovo aspetto.
_ Il Museo Magi'900 di Pieve di Cento (Bologna), fondato da Giulio Bargellini raccoglie opere d'arte moderna e contemporanea. Diviso per eccellenze artistiche e storiche quali: Futurismo, Avanguardie storiche Collezione Zavattini per citarne solo alcune.

I had never heard of this dude until today. Saw a work that grabbed my attention at the Art Institute and had to explore more. Easy to make fun of this type of art, but it is beautiful to me in person, and it’s great to see his process on video.

Indulgent attention seeking, just a show,
Rispetto ai primi eventi fatti dal Maestro in Italia questo evento è stato realizzato solo per fare puro business. Crediamo che l'uso dell'arte fatto in questo modo faccia solo danni all'immagine di un Grande Artista che è stato usato per i soli fini economici di chi gestiva la sua immagine.

Masterpiece!!!!! Leonardo DaVinci got nothing on this guy. Modern art is pure skill and talent.
la prossima volta che ho la sciorta la faccio su una tela....chissa mai che diventi famoso come shimamoto

I’ve loved, studied, taught and practiced art for well over half a century. Nothing about this ‘performance’ impresses me, certainly not the servile female assistant running about, doing all the hard work while he stands around, hurls paint, then gets all the accolades. And yes, I love abstract expressionism, and enthusiastically applauded the Australian Nationally Gallery’s million dollar purchase of Jackson Pollocks ‘Blue Poles’. It’s an awesome piece. These are awful.
