@Hyster1aMcR Indeed. I caught the jungle bug in '95. It was a growing scene in the late 90s-early 2000s, but had a setback when dubstep came along. Drum 'n bass is starting to re-emerge again thankfully.

Seen videos of Stevie Hyper D in Canada on Tv in the 90's promoting gigs and explaining the scene. The US has always been ahead of them. Miami EDM music awards in the early 00s, I cant find the track anymore but I think it was called Miami and might have been on Ram Records. A long time has passed so it's all a bit hazy, feel free to correct me.

@KillaBitz bit before my time the 90s scene. I grew up listening to Skibba Shabba Eksman Trigger Bassman Spider and so on through the 00s. Though I do like a lot of the older stuff where Hard-core transitioned into Jungle.

@davideaston8314 how come? I haven't been to 2003 raves but from 2005 onwards. There are always illegal warehouse raves going on, just like then. Also, big events and clubs dedicated to the music just like then. The technology has developed further, sure the sound has changed with the time. But to be the stereotypical "back then it was better" guy who thinks that his life's timeline was the only right one is a bit odd. Especially because there seem to be millions of people like this across all generations. The ultimate truth is that you were probs in your late teens, early 20s - you know, some of your most formative years - and you have nostalgia glasses for that period of your life rather than there being an objective superiority of the music's quality. The majority of people in the ex-ussr who have a hard-on for the soviet union are the people who have lived through their 20s in the last decade of communism. They don't actually miss the communism, they miss their 20s 😂
@iainball2023

@@mishXY harsh reality. But probably fair. I was there in the 90s. Still here now. (Thanks ravertots 😅) when I read the first comment I thought yea, it was way better in the early days. But your comment made me think about that. Last year chase and status cranked out some of the best D+B ever. The quality of dj sets over the past few years has been amazing. Several top ten sets. It just keeps getting better ❤
@mishXY
5 ай бұрын
@@iainball2023 I like to call it the "20s" glasses. I truly believe that people crave for their twenties. It's nostalgia, it's a time when there were fewer worries, it's 'youth', it's living. My parents miss the soviet union - especially the 80s, but in reality, they miss their 20s. I miss living in southern Patagonia (chile) at the last stretch of continent before Antartica - of course it is a jaw-dropping, so-fkn-gorgeous-you-wanna-rip-your-eyes-out-and-just-leave-them-there-leaning-against-a-rock-staring-at-it-for-eternity kinda nature. but in essence, it's where I've spent my 20s. Every generation thinks that their music is the best - it's a story as old as time. even though I try to remember it's a subjective feeling, I tend to think that, too. That is in no way an insult against anybody, quite the contrary. It shows that you have had a great time! The other day I went to an illegal rave under a motorway bridge with my 11-years-older brother - the kids were looking and pumping techno, and according to my bro the vibe was just like Berlin in the 90s. It's cyclical and each generation stands on the shoulders of giants of the previous generations. ♥️

A long time has passed so it's all a bit hazy, feel free to correct me.

@iainball2023

@@mishXY harsh reality. But probably fair. I was there in the 90s. Still here now. (Thanks ravertots 😅) when I read the first comment I thought yea, it was way better in the early days. It just keeps getting better ❤
@mishXY
