Hi, i thought plumbers mait or putty is not reccomended for use on plastic? My shower trap is plastic so would this work? Or will it fail after time? Last plumber used silicone and it failed and caused lots of damp to timbers. Thanks.

@@masteromandiy Can you share what gasket you are using? I have a similar setup to you, I'm having a hard time finding a replacement large enough (around 4.25in OD). It looks like you have a fiber washer too, so I'm guessing you are using a 4.375in sink rubber basket strainer washer kit?

Hi I usually use patty , but agree it’s also not a good choice In some cases I use silicon and it’s doing the work Again nothing is forever 😊

Check for leak and DONE! lol. There is still a big hole in the ceiling, my friend. Although to be fair patching a hole can be a separate video. The most annoying thing about American ceiling is that, they almost always have all different kinds of stupid popcorn pattern that's impossible to recreate. I think in Canada you simply sand it down to a smooth surface. Nice and simple.

As far as plumber putty causing cancer This warning is listed because the Plumbers Putty contains small traces of Quartz; however the Quartz is inextricably bound and cannot come out of the product, so as a result it is not harmful.

If you read directions for shower strainer youdont use anything

Plumber puty don't work on plastic.read directions
