Show and Hide Containers in Tableau
In this video I'll show you how to show and hide containers in Tableau at the push of a button. This makes for a convenient way to increase space for your dashboard while hiding your filters until needed.

Thanks for the kind words, Jersey represent!
A few months ago, you showed us how to create a pop-out filter pane in Power BI. Because of this video we can now create something just like that in Tableau. I have been able to impress my team because of what I've learned from your tutorials, thank you so much!

Thank you for watching and commenting Rohit!
Very Helpful!
Thanks for this Video.
Thanks Anthony for the video. To drop any objects in floating containers, instead of selecting “Shift” multiple times, you can change option from “Floating” to “Tile” in objects pane, then drag and drop the objects in floating container with out holding “Shift”.

Yes, that is the default option. I'm showing you the advanced way! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Is there any way to get a parameter selection to trigger the show/hide of a container rather than clicking on a button?
Hi, Is there a way to auto collapse this container if we go to any other dashboard?

I am not aware of a method to address that.
Why i did not see the add show/hide Button option from 2020.4.2...

You may have accidentally selected something IN the container, rather than the container itself. Also make sure you are selecting a FLOATING container. kb.tableau.com/articles/issue/unable-to-add-the-show-hide-button-for-a-sheet-on-a-dashboard
Pretty neat. But I don't think this works in real world where length of page is 2500 pixels. I've tried before just won't work except for simple visualizations.

The length of the dashboard will not affect the functionality of show hide. Also 2500 length is not optimal. I try not to make the user scroll when designing a dashboard.
