To be fair being a mercenary inside a devouring swarm territory means that you can always sell your services to the neighbors of your patron.

Or serve the swarm instead and act as a mercenary enclave and catering company simultaneously (just hope that your client never gets hungry enough to eat you)

Can't wait for every new full playthrough, nothing better than a big long movie of a stellaris campaign

Unbidden are the only ones it makes sense to build your ships against. Both of the others give you 10 years to retrofit before they arrive.

@@ChristoffRevan My GA no scaling with difficulty adjusted modifiers saves (against 25x all crisis at year 2300-2325 as well) would say differently, but keep typing.

@@commanderstorm8874 so the Geth were a bunch of networked machines a race used as a simple workforce. As the network grew larger, they eventually gained sentience and took over the planet, slaughtering their former masters. Then they joined up with an ancient galaxy ending machine race and were the bad guys.

how da hell would that even work? it’s a decision it goes away when conquered because hive minds die out after being taken over so it would 100% not work and it can’t spread to other empires because they can’t migrate

@@polarnxt4059 1)you can vassalize hive minds; 2)if Tree of Life is an Overlord, they can have Sapling holdings; 3)there were much wilder/weirder exploits in history of Stellaris and PDX games.

@@TheArklyte the progenitor hive can also build offspring hive nests as a holding building, so as long as one of them is the overlord and the other is the vassal, it can work either way that the vassal could get holding buildings of the other's type

@@TheArklyte you would have to make a custom origin with both effects. Would make getting colonies up and running quite challenging as each world would need 2 buildings just to perform normally.

Love the story behind this empire! Always impressed at how you come up with such creative yet still logical stories for your playthrough

Lathrix if you're interested you can do you are doomed playthrough Step 1: Go down the psionic route Step 2: Become the Crisis Step 3: Get to Crisis level 5 Step 4: End The Cycle Step 5: Wait for The Reckoning The reason why this is a doomed playthrough is because you'll be reset back to the start of the playthrough with no chance of being bailed out by a federation (which is what happened last time you triggered the Reckoning) due to the entire galaxy being at war with you. This also takes advantage of the fact that the spawn chance for the End The Cycle is increased to 10% once you reach Crisis level 5.

The reason End of the Cycle is increased is because there's no realistic way you'd spend 100 years as the crisis. You'd already have won or lost by then. So the whole thing is nothing but bonuses with no consequences

I like to imagine the Golem is just really proud of their grand-babies and wants to show them off, to the whole galaxy.

The Offspring ships remind me of the super old and early stages of Stellaris when you could make the emperor flagship corvettes, destroyers and etc. and all it costed was extra minerals, thats how far back when ships just cost minerals to build.

I love how unique the concepts of the latest playthroughs have been

*blood for the blood god!* *skull for the skull throne!* milk for the khorne flakes :)

Nice to see the AI being able to put up more of a fight.

Love these videos Lathrix, Though I did have an idea for a challenge run of sorts with the following rules: 1. Late to the party: For the first 10 years of the game you cannot leave your home system with any ships. 2. Random empire: The empire you play is chosen randomly 3. Slow Burn: May only claim one system per year. 4. Always in order: Your total fleet can never exceed your fleet capacity, If it does you must destroy the ships that take you over the limit.

... That title reminds me of the God Emperor to a suspicious degree. Lathrix, are your children 15ft+ tall demi gods?

I recently started watching lathland and I also was surprised to see a terra tech series, which is one of my favorite games!

Absolutely love your videos man. Can’t wait to see what you do with the last 2 origins! They’re some of my favorite by far. Shroud walker is strong cause psionics, and quantum catapult is really good if you get the timing right and can mass claim a bunch of territory. The catapult can easily start the snowball for the rest of the game. Peace man! Keep doing what you’re doing.

This has been a really good playthrough! I'd really like to see Lathrix do a Here be Dragons reanimators build where the goal is to have all the megafauna at some point

I do enjoy the building of the empire, but it's quite nice to see when your choices have created the leaders that make the whole acceleration process move along briskly. And of course, your children have the great big improved ships that Daddy gifted them, to go with their education. Love these runs, always a pleasure to see something new.

I love listening to long videos like this on my way to work. Keep up the good work. I wish they didn't kill the algorithm.
