    Thank you so much, I will try this. I am.a pitcher and have tendonitis, is so painful 😫 when I am throwing,very frustrated and I was wondering if I ever going to be able to pitch again 😥. Some people tell me to use Ice, others say heat. So confusing 😕

    One session of this video’s suggestions has given me excellent pain relief. At different times about 8-10 years ago I injured both shoulders, should have had rehab but didn’t take the time. Now I’m paying for it at a time where I’m retired and spending more time outdoors camping, bushcrafting, and managing my 75 acre forest. I have had a shoulder issue for 8 years. Tendonitis and pain in my shoulder blade just sitting in a chair so for 8 years I avoided leaning into sofa backs to avoid pain. Then over the last year, two sudden jolt type dog leash pulling events caused the shoulder to freeze up for a week or more each time. After the second, more painful episode, I tried your stretching exercises and my shoulder is sooooo much better now. 60 seconds of front to back pendulum, front side to side pendulum, circular in both directions all with a 1KG weight and the behind the back stick holding stretch has worked wonders. Thank you. I do these every day now.

    Dr. Jo thank you for your videos. In the flexion exercise, you said 90 degrees. My question is: 90 degrees even if there is pain? Or I should stop before I experience pain? the other question is, how long does it take to recover? I have been in therapy for several months and I started to work with weights and I had pain so I went back just to exercises for strengthening.

It’s been a run around from doctors who say there’s nothing wrong, or that my scans come back clean. I can probably move it maybe 20° off my side, other than that I have the worst pain imaginable. I’m honestly so sick of this pain 😢😢.

    Dr. Jo I hope you get my message? There is a stretch that you do in this video where you put your elbows by your side and try to pinch your two shoulder blades together. And that when my left shoulder, or deltoid, really hurts. It's a pain like nerve pain, it's a burning type pain. It's almost like a thicker needle is sticking in my side deltoid at times, it gets that bad when I do that stretch especially. The pain started about 2-3 days ago. Can you shed some light on that type injury and exercises that I should do please?

Your herniated discs ones really helped me last year 🥰 I wondered, I initially got my bicep tendinitis over 5 years ago, it got a lot better with physio at the time but I never managed to get rid of it fully so have to avoid certain arm workouts :(. Would you think doing these could help get rid of it fully or from that length of time it’s likely to never go? X

    That loosening exercise at the beginning is great. Thanks a lot! For the other exercises, do they need to be more difficult based on my strength level? I can still do dips, front lever, and pull ups without too much irritation. Also, with a tendonitis, should I focus on static or dynamic movements when training to keep irritation down to a minimum?

  • @AskDoctorJo

    @AskDoctorJo

    4 жыл бұрын

    You're welcome! Not really, they can be a stronger band, but therapeutic exercises are more about retraining the muscles, not necessarily bulking them up. The bigger strengthening would come after you heal and there are no longer imbalances in the shoulder (like returning to gym activities). Static is more towards the beginning, and then dynamic once you are starting to feel better, so it really depends on how far along you are in your recovery.

  • @Ace-zb5xr

May I ask if would it still be possible to get rid of that clicking even if the pain is gone or the tendonitis is gone? Or the pain will stay forever?? Pls reply to this Doctor Jo, I really need your heeelp!! Thank you for this vid and in advance.

    Hi Jo, Great content as per usual. I've performed the wall stretches you reference in this video and have given myself a dead arm/shoulder. Is the normal or should it be something I need to worry about? For reference, this is the first time I've done these stretches and never had this issue before.

    Thanks. How long has it lasted? You might have just had it in an impinged position, but if it last for a while, you might want to get it checked out.

    Thanks for responding. It has started to dissipate after an hour. Funny thing is there is no pain. I definitely have an impingement on the shoulder in question which my osteopath thinks is down to bicep tendinitis from overuse (weight lifting five times p/w). Whilst I was performing the stretch I felt the 'good pain' you have previously referred too and after my shoulders have a lot more range than before. Could it be down to the shoulder not having been put in this stretched position before?

I stopped working out, How long should i do these exercises? is it enough to stop working out for 2 weeks and than back to the Gym? Thanks in advance.l

    My shoulder tendonitis comes and goes periodically. I never had any serious injury initiating the shoulder inflammation. I think that the pain has something to do with my diet, like eating sugar and gluten. Are these exercises supposed to be strengthening the inflamed shoulder tendon? And usually doing exercises that hurt my shoulder only make the pain worse.

    Hello Doctor Jo, I apologize in advance for writing such a long comment, but I'm in dire need of some advice. I've been having problems with my shoulders for quite a while. I'm a swimmer and about 2 and a half years ago I injured my right shoulder. It was a minor rotator cuff injury that healed in 4 months with the right treatment. Soon after that, my left shoulder started hurting and I immediately went to see my doctor again. She put me on a couple of different treatments (electrotherapy and kinesio taping), but I still couldn't get back to exercising. It turned out to be tendinitis (Dolor extremitatis M796, Morbi synoviae et tendinis alii M67). I was told that I should take a 6-month break from swimming and physical activities that might make my injury worse. I went to see a different physical therapist and she was shocked because I wasn't given any rehab exercises like the ones she later showed me and the ones you showed in the video. She told me I can go back to the pool in a month. After the break I had a check up. My shoulder was still in a bad condition. My doctor decided to put me on treatment again. I finished it a month ago. Now, I only feel pain when I put a lot of pressure on it (while swimming, doing push-ups or even during a certain motion). What do you suggest me to do? Looking forward to your answer😊

  • @AskDoctorJo

    @AskDoctorJo

    5 жыл бұрын

    Are you still doing the stretches and exercises your physical therapist gave you? That would really be the best option. Unfortunately, I don't know what else to suggest since I can't evaluate you. If you can, you might want to go back to see your physical therapist for a follow up.
