Shoulder Pain and Popping (SHORT & LONG TERM FIX!)
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Build a ripped athletic body while fixing your shoulders here…
athleanx.com/x/get-a-bulletpro...
Shoulder pain and popping is one of the most common causes of missed workouts. Shoulder injuries are incredibly popular among gym goers, but not surprising when you consider the amount of mobility the shoulder joint has and the many ways we abuse that in our training. In this video, I’m going to show you a short term and long term fix for shoulder pain and the popping, cracking, etc that goes along with it. Start training hard and stop letting your bad shoulders get in the way of your progress in the gym.
First, you must understand that there are many potential causes of shoulder pain when working out. Most often however it comes from an imbalance between the internal and external rotators of the shoulder. Unless you make a conscious effort to incorporate external rotation exercises into your shoulder workouts you will not do anything to counteract this from happening.
The role of the rotator cuff muscles in your shoulders are to do exactly this. They are there for external rotation of the glenohumeral joint to help keep the arm in a good position as you raise it up overhead. The rotator cuff muscles (three of the four muscles) will externally rotate the humerus to keep it from banging into the acromion as you elevate the arm. They also keep the head of the ball and socket centered in the socket with the elevation as well.
In order to temporarily reposition an internally rotated head however, you want to do the drill that I’m showing you here. Begin by placing your back against a wall and trying to keep the back of your elbows and the radial side of your index fingers in contact with the wall. Try to raise both arms overhead (keeping the elbows against the wall every inch of the way until you reach the height of your shoulders). At this point you will allow your elbows to come off the wall but you want to keep your fingers against the wall for the remainder of the raise.
Slowly lower your arms back down to your sides and repeat the movement for a total of 5 to 6 reps. You may find that with each rep you are able to keep your fingers and elbows in contact with the wall further and further. When done, step away from the wall and attempt to raise your arms up overhead again. If you had shoulder pain and popping or clicking before, you should see that almost all of it is gone now.
You’ve effectively repositioned your humerus by activating the shoulder external rotators. This is a short term fix however. In order to do this long term you must incorporate rotator cuff strengthening into your daily workout program. We have a complete training program that not only helps you to build ripped athletic muscle but keeps your shoulders and joints healthy at the same time. This is called the ATHLEAN-X Training System. You can get this program at athleanx.com and start seeing your best and safest results ever.

Holy shit...I thought I had ruined my shoulder. Its been weeks of pain and a fear of training. This is incredible.
Dude. I practically stopped exercising for a year. Had horrible pops whenever I lifted a few pounds of weight. If I were to rotate my arms outward they would pop and crack, audibly, sometimes painfully. I just came across this video a week ago and for the first time in about a year I actually spent a couple hours without pops and cracks. Physical therapists told me to rest. Sports therapists told me to 'just train them' Then Jeff told me to raise my fucking arms while standing against a wall and making sure my elbows and hand don't come off until my arms start going over my head. Jeff's solution worked. I could muster up the courage to pick up light weights again and surprisingly enough only a few stray cracks. But doing this exercise instantly relieved them. Jeff my man, you're a God.

Dude , how we suppose to do it? he confused me. Are we trying to keep the place between the index and the thumb and also the elbow in touch with the wall while raising or we try to put the other side of the palm together and bring them inn front?
@melissat5719
7 жыл бұрын
So what I do is keep my elbows and thumbs touching the wall for as long as I can as I go up. There will be a point where your elbows just cannot touch the wall anymore, and that's fine but keep your thumbs on the wall as you go up. I then just go up until my palms touch, then I go down trying to get my elbows back on the wall until I reach the starting position. Mix this with the pendulum swing, and some rotator cuff exercises and you will most likely feel a difference. Also stop pushing (chest) exercises for a while until you heal. I also found out I started sleeping on my side (new for me), so I got a softer bed and that is helping me a TON. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Man this is insane! I just did it and it is verbatim as he said. First rep I got stuck in the middle, second one better, and then completely fine by the end. The pain I had the last 2 weeks is almost completely gone! I'm literally shocked by how easy it was! Cheers mate!
This excersise relives do much pain in my shoulder. I can return to doing some excersise. Thank you Jeff
As a dancer who’s always had a really hard time building muscle and now is embedded in injuries that I was told were normal, I’m so glad I found this video I’ll be doing this everyday but it’s might be time to see a PT

I used to have hip popping/sticking when doing leg raises and even just walking sometimes. I started doing the leg raises with my feet far apart and that stopped it happening, I also do a lot of hip rotations. A few months later, I don't get popping with walking and I can do leg raises with feet tight together.

Amazing!!!!!! Thank you so much, I've been having trouble with this for 18 months!!
this channel help me a lot spcially my lower backpain and now having my shoulder pain for six months hopefully it will fix my problem
At 2:39 “you have to work them there’s no way around it” 😂 the way he said this was so sincere, caring and convincing haha I’m going to wake tomorrow and think “my rotator cuffs I have to work them there’s no way around it”.I really appreciate how Jeff really cares about what he does to such a high extent and then he shares that energy with us all while he teaches us in depth ,important information to better ourselves. Ty Jeff :))
I freaking love your videos so much! Can't wait to sign uo
Shoulder clicking and muscle pain when i woke up today after a big session of table tennis training yesterday. I am going to try. thanks for for all your therapy movement and trainning videos. very helpfull!!!
5:26 of so much info, good job Jeff
So here goes. I could barely trust my shoulder to wave at people before filling these routines. I added these to my prework our routine, and I can say this. I’m back to doing Barbell bench, dumbbell bench, and shoulder presses with slight discomfort but most importantly no pain. I even was able to handle a few back squats and mostly modified the rest of my back squat sets. One step at a time. Thanks for making this video!!

how long did it take before you felt better

Reuben Sweetapple it was pretty much a day later. I did the full 4 move routine on my off day, then the next day did it again and noticed my workout was so much better. I went for a PR on bench yesterday, I’m working my way back up since taking almost 3 years off. Hit my 1RM, no pain in my shoulder
After 2 months trying a lot of exercises, this one fix my problem!! Thank you, you’re the best
Jeff truly is the best guy to fix any problems. I had to stop training which is really bad for someone like me who needs to do upper body work to help with my health problems. Fixed it in one go. Brilliant. Thank you so much Jeff.
that exercise is gold! just had days of pain in my shoulder and after trying this, its much better! thank you!
man, it worked in minutes, thank you.
This is one of the best videos ever. Helped me more than most 🤙
never ever had i gotten my shoulders to extend in this way- and what a relief! thanks soo much Jeff!
This exercise has literally changed my life. I was so sceptical watching the video and reading the comments but I’ve been able to do so many things this last 10 days I couldn’t before hand. Literally fixed in the first day but I was worried it would not work so I waited to comment lol. Thank you!!!

Tobin Cuss I mean i just did it and did nothing for me. It’s pissing me off I have a click in my right shoulder and not my left. If I do dumbbell front raises it hurts my shoulder but then I do barbell shoulder press I don’t feel anything.

@@liam.s789 2:27 "Lots of other things can be causing shoulder problems." Maybe you should try some more things, he has more videos on shoulder pain and if those don't work you could always go and get it checked out somewhere.

@@liam.s789 You might wanna try icing, as he mentioned that the bursa or whatever in the shoulder can get swollen/inflamed and reduce the space in the joint. Also, turmeric (taken internally) is great for inflammation. Would just experiment with icing in addition to this exercise. Maybe even alternating ice & heat at some point.
God bless you. I was about ready to give up on shoulder press/bench press. Jeff you really do a lot of good for the world! Keep it up, please don’t stop! Don’t know what I would do without this video. CHEERS!
This exercise is absolutely a gamechanger! Thank you so much !!!
you are amazing man this is real content it stopped my shoulder pain right away
I just did this and after an instant relief, had few moments of moving my arm around without clicking and pain for the first time in years!

This video was as needed as the calves video. Sensei came through once again, thank you.
Bro 10 years of shoulder pain after getting slammed on my shoulder during wrestling practice. A lot of your videos are really starting to bring the mobility back and i can sleep better since incorporating the exercises.
Damn Jeff looking at some of your old vids cause I've had some shoulder pain and man these videos are lifesavers! Thank you!
