You are absolutely correct. I’m all over my land once a week or two in off season being noisy and using for recreation, then keep off month before deer season and saw multiple mature bucks in hunting season.

I love going on my property all year. Clearing dead falls. Fertilizing. Checking cameras. I believe they have gotten used to my 4 wheeler. They don't see it as a threat.

We live using the land, a lot...although they certainly don't like any ATVs during the season 😉 We use them to get deer after dark only, during season

I would agree, with doe, I would have them come out to see what I was doing, but i think mature bucks won't tolerate it.

Amen Been burning brush all January on my land the does just lay down and listen a few hundred yards away. Big bucks are off to their winter feeding grounds and will be back for the summer into the fall for when the food on the property peaks. Took into consideration all your advice over the years thanks.

I have no idea? Don't even really know the guy, or haven't talked to him in maybe 8-10 years? Don't consider him an actual competitor or anything, last I heard he goes to around 15 clients per year. So not sure? I do know he's killed some giants on his IL land but doesn't really hunt anywhere else that I've heard about. More of an outdoor writer

Hi Mike...so, so true! Kind of an industry trend with some is don't use the land in the off season...but then forget about pressuring the deer during the season by think scent containment, height of stand scent spray or bad access will work. The season should be the pinnacle of not pressuring deer, for the entire year.
