Thanks for the video. The only thing I would add as someone who visits all 3 lakes mentioned is that Keowee can be come very busy, even busier than Hartwell.

Lake Keowee was clear cut so the water is much clearer!!! Also there are many golf communities on Keowee!

If you think Keowee is not slammed with boat traffic, go check it out on any summer weekend. We no longer go out on the weekend.

Nobody really lives on Keowee. The bulk of the houses are vacation houses. Christmas lights stay up until the 4th of July decorations go up, those stay up until Christmas lights return.

You neglected to say that the lake level on Lake Keowee is controlled by the dam at Jocassee because of the nuclear power plant!! So the lake level can only fluctuate 5' up or down. Even in a drought the lake can never drop below 5' from full lake level. Lake Hartwell and many other lakes water level is subject to rain/drought conditions. Also several homes sold over $5/6M on Lake Keowee last couple years....

Devin, just to add to your statement, Duke has passed a new regulation that actually allows them to drop the lake level on Keowee as much as 10 feet now in "Extreme" drought situations. I don't think we will ever see that happen but they do have that power/authority now if needed and that is the absolute lowest it can drop. Ultimately, I have been around Lake Keowee for over 23 years and usually doesn't drop more than 3 to 4 feet at the most.

Homeowners own lake front property on Keowee Lake and hartwell is owned by corp of engineers not the homeowners.

@@Evangelionism the US corp of engineers owns the first 200 feet of waterfront all around the lake and the lot owner must ask permission to cross over that 200 feet. That’s why Keowee lake is much more costly to buy …you actually own up to the water edge

Lake Hartwell is a nasty lake! The water is dirty, polluted, and fluctuates like crazy! And don't dare eat the fish!! The property is cheaper because of that. Lake Keowee is beautiful! The water is clear, clean, and is always near or at full pool. And the property is much more expensive.
